Abstract

Digital technology transformation has introduced new paradigms in education through artificial intelligence integration becoming integral components of contemporary learning processes. This research aims to describe teachers' skills in managing learning using artificial intelligence at MTs DDI Lapeo and analyze its impact on learning management capabilities. The research method employed qualitative approach with case study design, involving 11 informants consisting of principal, five teachers, and five students. Data collection was conducted through triangulation techniques of participative obswwervation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis utilized Miles and Huberman model with validity ensured through member check and source triangulation. Research findings identified six dimensions of teachers' skills in managing AI-based learning: AI implementation in learning processes, AI operational skills, personalized learning, smart content development, AI chatbot integration, and AI-based learning evaluation. Findings revealed 73.08% teachers have utilized AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Gemini AI. AI implementation impacts include substantial administrative efficiency improvement and significant teacher workload reduction. AI enables personalized learning responsive to individual student needs, creates interactive smart content, and facilitates evaluation accommodating digital native characteristics. Transformative AI implementation in education requires adequate infrastructure support and continuous digital competency development for 21st-century learning optimization.

Abstract

The use of Class VII Social Science learning media at SMP Negeri 2 Angkona, East Luwu Regency in its implementation has not been maximally used as a learning tool because it is only limited to the use of learning package source books / digital books from the Ministry of Education and Culture. These books are in the form of texts that tend to be informative, so that the teaching and learning process carried out in the classroom is still monotonous and still stuck with the lecture method which only gives students explanations about the material being taught. Based on this, this study aims to (1) describe the level of social studies learning video media needs based on animation; (2) design a valid animated learning video media; (3) determine the validity and practicality of social studies learning video media based on animation. This research uses an R&D (Research and Development) approach by adapting the interactive multimedia development and design model developed by Alessi and Trollip. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Angkona, East Luwu Regency. The subjects of this study were 25 students with details: 5 students for small group trials and 20 students for large group trials, and 1 subject teacher. Data collection used a small group trial questionnaire, a large group trial questionnaire and supporting documents in this study. The data analysis method consists of qualitative descriptive analysis and descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that: (1) needs analysis is at the required level; (2) learning video media developed in the form of animation-based learning video media in Social Science subjects in Class VII; (3) product feasibility based on content/material validation with very valid results, media validation with very valid results; small group trials with practical results; large group trials with results in the very practical category, and subject teacher responses with results in the very practical category. The conclusion from the results of this study, the level of needs analysis of animation-based learning video media is in the needed category, the product in the form of MP4 video has been declared valid and practical.

Abstract

Science and technology are currently developing rapidly and directly or indirectly impacting the field of education. The purpose of this study is to identify the needs for animated learning media for the Curriculum Studies course based on blended learning in the Educational Technology Study Program, Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Makassar that are valid and practical; to develop the design of animated learning media for the Curriculum Studies course based on blended learning that are valid and practical; and to describe the level of validity and practicality of the animated learning media developed for the Curriculum Studies course based on blended learning. The research and development model used in this study is an adaptation of the Sivasailam Thiagarajan development model, which was adjusted by the researcher. This model was considered suitable because it aligns with the stages of research conducted and consists of systematic procedures. The model is appropriate for developing animated learning media because it provides detailed development steps. The stages in this development process include Analysis, Design, and Development. The subjects of this study were media experts or instructional design experts, content or material experts for learning media, sixth-semester students of the Educational Technology Study Program at Universitas Negeri Makassar, and lecturers teaching the Curriculum Studies course. The data collection technique used questionnaires. The data analysis techniques employed were Qualitative Descriptive Analysis and Descriptive Statistical Analysis. Based on the evaluation results from media experts and content/material experts, it can be concluded that the Powtoon animated learning media can be used as teaching material in the learning process for the Curriculum Studies course. The results of individual trials, large group trials, and responses from the lecturers teaching the Curriculum Studies course indicate that the developed Powtoon animated learning media is practical to use as teaching material in the learning process.
