Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas program Lib Talk yang diselenggarakan oleh Perpustakaan Universitas Terbuka untuk mendukung proses belajar dan pengembangan keterampilan akademik mahasiswa. Analisis didasarkan pada data survei yang melibatkan 125 peserta mengenai kepuasan, frekuensi, kemudahan akses, dan kualitas teknis kegiatan tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Lib Talk diterima secara positif oleh mahaiswa, dengan kepuasan mencapai 85 dan frekuensi 80, sehingga mampu memenuhi kebutuhan akademik dan keterampilan belajar mahasiswa sesuai standar ACRL (2008). Selain aspek tersebut, Lib Talk juga memberikan peluang bagi mahasiswa untuk lebih aktif belajar, mencari informasi, dan berbagi pengalaman, sehingga proses belajar lebih hidup dan bermakna. Meskipun demikian, terdapat beberapa aspek yang membutuhkan perbaikan, seperti perpanjangan durasi sesi, kualitas audio dan visual, rekaman sesi, interaktivitas, dan masalah teknis yang kadang terjadi. Dengan melakukan perbaikan tersebut, diharapkan Lib Talk dapat lebih maksimal memberikan dukungan dan pelayanan yang lebih luas dan mendalam bagi proses belajar mahasiswa di Universitas Terbuka, sehingga dapat turut meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan kepuasan mahasiswa, sesuai visi dan misi universitas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kelayakan Web-Based Digital Competency Evaluation Tool sebagai instrumen evaluasi kompetensi digital dalam konteks pendidikan jarak jauh. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode studi kelayakan. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 21 responden yang memiliki pengalaman dalam pembelajaran daring. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner berbasis web yang terintegrasi langsung dalam aplikasi, mencakup dimensi usability, practicality, accessibility, dan content relevance. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif berupa nilai rata-rata, standar deviasi, serta uji reliabilitas instrumen dengan koefisien Cronbach’s alpha. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alat evaluasi memiliki tingkat kelayakan yang tinggi dengan skor rata-rata keseluruhan sebesar 1,88 serta reliabilitas yang sangat tinggi (Cronbach’s alpha = 0,981). Temuan ini didukung oleh data kualitatif yang menunjukkan bahwa sistem mudah digunakan, memiliki navigasi yang jelas, dan konten yang relevan dengan kebutuhan kompetensi digital pembelajar jarak jauh. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi bagi bidang teknologi pendidikan dalam pengembangan instrumen evaluasi berbasis web yang valid, praktis, dan adaptif untuk mendukung implementasi pembelajaran jarak jauh.   This study aims to examine the feasibility of a Web- Based Digital Competency Evaluation Tool developed to support the assessment of digital competencies in distance education settings. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed using a feasibility study design. The participants consisted of 21 respondents with prior experience in online learning environments. Data were collected through a structured web-based questionnaire integrated into the evaluation tool, assessing four key dimensions: usability, practicality, accessibility, and content relevance. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, including mean scores and standard deviations, along with reliability testing using Cronbach’s alpha. The results indicate that the evaluation tool demonstrates a high level of feasibility, with an overall mean score of 1.88 and excellent internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.981). Qualitative feedback further supports these findings, highlighting intuitive navigation, clear interface design, and strong alignment between the evaluation content and essential digital competency requirements for distance learners. This study contributes to the field of educational technology by providing empirical evidence on the development and feasibility of a web-based digital competency assessment tool that is practical, reliable, and adaptable for implementation in distance education contexts.

Abstract

This study comprehensively explores the perceptions, experiences, and challenges faced by students in taking practical courses at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Terbuka (UT). Practical courses are frequently hampered and encounter obstacles in assignment completion. Employing a mixed-methods design with 307 participants from two study programs at Universitas Terbuka (UT), this research collected quantitative data (perceptions) and qualitative data (constraints). Descriptive quantitative results reveal a notable paradox: the majority of students reported high independent learning motivation (68% - 88%) and positive perceptions of lecturer guidance quality (82% - 97%). However, these findings contrast with the operational reality, where students overwhelmingly perceived the workload as high (above 90%). Thematic analysis of qualitative data identified three main constraints: time management due to work conflicts (33.7% in TPEN), technical constraints (internet network and learning platforms), and difficulties bridging theory and practice (47% in PBIN). It is concluded that the success of practical courses in distance learning is heavily influenced by external structural and logistical factors, such as learning environment stability and system design, which hinder the actualization of student motivation and self-regulation. Research implications recommend instructional design flexibility, workload adjustment, digital infrastructure strengthening, and the provision of multimodal materials (demonstration videos) to bridge the theory-practice gap. Theoretically, this study contributes by mapping how external structural limitations in distance education impede student self-regulation mechanisms despite high internal motivation.

Abstract

The rapid adoption of digital technologies in higher education has increased the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) to support teaching and learning activities. However, the extent to which students utilize the various features available within LMS platforms remains insufficiently understood. This study aimed to analyze the utilization of different LMS features in student learning activities. A quantitative descriptive research design was employed involving 102 university students who had actively used an LMS for at least one semester. Data were collected through an online questionnaire developed based on four LMS dimensions: learning content, communication, assessment, and learning monitoring. The instrument demonstrated good reliability with a Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of 0.87. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including mean and standard deviation. The findings revealed that LMS features related to learning content, assessment, and learning monitoring were utilized more frequently than communication features. Assignment submission (M = 4.41), learning materials (M = 4.32), and grade monitoring (M = 4.30) were identified as the most frequently used features. In contrast, chat (M = 1.88) and discussion forums (M = 2.54) showed the lowest levels of utilization. These results indicate that students primarily use LMS platforms as tools for accessing learning resources, completing assessments, and monitoring academic progress rather than as environments for communication and collaboration. The study highlights the need for higher education institutions and instructors to optimize communication-oriented LMS features to enhance student interaction and engagement in digital learning environments.

Abstract

The increasing integration of digital technologies in higher education requires students to be adequately prepared for technology-enhanced learning environments. This study aimed to examine students’ readiness for digital learning in higher education. A quantitative descriptive survey was conducted involving 105 university students selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected using a 25-item questionnaire covering six dimensions: Technical Readiness, Self-Directed Learning Readiness, Communication Readiness, Motivation Readiness, Access Readiness, and AI/Digital Literacy Readiness. The instrument demonstrated good reliability with a Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of 0.88. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including mean and standard deviation. The findings revealed that students generally demonstrated a high level of digital learning readiness (M = 3.62, SD = 0.57). Technical Readiness and AI/Digital Literacy Readiness were categorized as high, while the remaining dimensions were at a moderate level. These findings suggest that although students possess strong technological competencies, improvements are needed in self-directed learning, communication, motivation, and access to digital resources.

Abstract

Pelatihan pembuatan film pendek kepada pemuda di Kabupaten Maros merupakan bagian terpenting dalam pengembangan bakat dan potensi sumberdaya manusia di Kabupaten Maros, Sulawesi Selatan. Film pendek memberikan manfaat yang besar berupa pelatihan keterampilan para pemuda, dan mengasa kreatifitas mereka. Dalam pelatihan ini, tim pengabdi memberikan tiga pendekatan utama yakni berupa pelatihan membuat film dengan melakukan workshop, dilanjutkan dengan pembuatan film pendek. Pada tahapan akhir adalah melakukan pemutaran film pendek sebanyak 20 film pendek yang merupakan hasil dari kegiatan ini. Pelatihan ini memberikan begitu banyak manfaat bagi para pemuda di Maros, dan juga bagi mitra lembaga Latoa di Maros. Tim pengabdi memberikan kontribusi baik ilmu pengetahuan dan juga teknologi yang dapat digunakan saat memproduksi film pendek. Pelatihan pembuatan 20 film pendek dilakukan guna memanfaatkan sumber daya manusia yang kompeten di Kabupaten Maros, Sulawesi Selatan.
