Abstract

The Maloy Batuta Trans Kalimantan (MBTK) Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in East Kutai Regency has significant potential for developing industries based on natural resources, particularly in palm oil and minerals. This study aims to assess the potential of leading sectors and evaluate the effectiveness of the MBTK SEZ development policy using a policy analysis approach, Location Quotient (LQ), and Shift Share analysis. The findings indicate that both national and regional policies have supported the growth of local resource-based industries; however, their implementation has not been optimal due to low investment levels and inadequate infrastructure. This study recommends aligning cross-sector policies, accelerating the provision of essential infrastructure, and implementing industrial clustering strategies to enhance the competitiveness of the MBTK SEZ.

Abstract

Rainfall observation data from each rain station in an area is so important to measure the intensity of rainfall in that region. The number of rain stations that are not ideal will affect the process of acquiring rainfall data which is the primary data required for regional rainfall mapping. This study uses the manual station technique and analysis of satellite precipitation data as an alternative aid for mapping annual rainfall with the Isohyet method for areas constrained by a shortage of rain stations like the Nabire Regency area. The purpose of the research was to study the intensity of rainfall in the Nabire Regency area based on data PRECTOTCORR, bias-corrected precipitation by MERRA-2 for the last ten years of precipitation data from 2014-2023 taken from the POWER-NASA climate map and managed through ArcGIS software. The area of Nabire Regency with 12.075,00 km2 includes the category of place with high rainfall intensity where the average rainfall ranges from 2000 mm – 5000 mm per year. The results of rainfall mapping with IDW (Inverse Distance Weighting) interpolation and Kriging interpolation show that there are several areas with the highest rainfall, Napan, Siriwo, Kimi, Menou, and Dipa, while the lowest rainfall areas are in the coastal areas, Teluk Umar and the northern region of Wapoga.

Abstract

The Cavendish banana s one of the commonly widely cultivated and commercial banana commodities in Indonesia and more than 40% of the fruit is produced worldwide. Reviewed from a market perspective, this commodity is so potential that it offers an opportunity to increase its productivity in meeting the needs of the market. The research was conducted in the village of Kuniran, Purwosari district of Bojonegoro. This research is quantitative and descriptive taking samples of 10 farmers who belonged to UD. Agro Kurnia (the population). The determination of samples used a purposive sampling method. This study aims to analyze the viability of cavendish bananas cultivated by UD. Kurnia Agros’s farmers, cover a total of 1500 trees on 1.8 ha of land. The research was carried out from August to December 2023. The data collection method uses PRA livelihood assessment tools, input and output flow charts, and garden sketches. The results of this study showed that the total expenditure of Rp. 18,210,000, farmers received a total receipt of Rp. 72,200,000 in one season. Total receipts were deducted from the total cost and the total revenue was Rp. 57,615,000.00 in one harvest season. The value of the R/C ratio was >1, which means that the total income was greater than the total costs so the cultivation of cavendish banana commodities at the village of Kuniran is very profitable and worthy of being continued and developed.

Abstract

Abstract

Labuan Bajo is one of the villages located in Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. This area is known as the gateway to Komodo National Park, which is the natural habitat of the Komodo dragon, one of Indonesia's ancient animals. Labuan Bajo has become a magnet for tourists from around the world thanks to its stunning natural beauty, from exotic beaches and small islands to extraordinary underwater riches. This study aims to provide an understanding of the value of sustainable livelihoods, which will ultimately facilitate the formulation of recommendations for better development and management in the tourist village of Labuan Bajo. The human dimension shows a fairly good score (59.83), indicating that community involvement and capacity are beginning to take shape, although there is still a need for improvement in terms of skills and management. The dimension with the lowest score is finance (35.75), which indicates significant weaknesses in terms of funding, investment, and distribution of economic benefits. This situation makes finance the most vulnerable aspect, which could hinder sustainability if not addressed immediately. Given these weaknesses, it is hoped that future research will expand the variables, adopt more diverse data collection methods (such as in-depth interviews or longitudinal secondary data), and increase the number and distribution of samples to obtain more complete and accurate results.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the capability and capacity of agricultural land in the peri-urban areas of Sidoarjo District from 2010 to 2029. Methodologically, six capacity indices are reinterpreted as a governance-focused resilience dashboard for urban food systems. The patterns of collocation among components reveal critical pressure and leverage points, informing intervention priorities such as land protection, demand management, service density enhancement, and regional productivity improvement. Using spatial approaches, projections, and policy analysis, it was found that most indicators showed a decline in land capacity. In addition, there was a decrease in the percentage of agricultural land from 34% in 2009 to 20% in 2029. These findings underscore the importance of sustainable spatial planning and the protection of agricultural land in maintaining long-term food security and environmental sustainability. Future research should emphasize interdisciplinary collaboration, policy integration, and resilience to climate change to better address the complexities of peri-urban development.

Abstract

Tourist village is a rural area that has several special characteristics to become a tourist destination. The development of tourist villages has become an important strategy in strengthening the local economy, preserving cultural heritage, and improving the welfare of people in Indonesia, one of which is in Kediri Regency, East Java Province. Jambu Village is one of the villages and the only tourist village in Kayen Kidul District, Kediri Regency. Jambu Tourist Village is an independently managed tourist village, which has led this village to receive an award from the Governor of East Java as a Smart Mandiri Sejahtera Tourist Village (DEWI CEMARA) in October 2019. Despite its success, Jambu Tourist Village also experienced problems in its development process. Development of five tourism components (attraction, accessibility, accommodation, amenity, and ancillary) still faces many problems. The purpose of this study is to ensure sustainable tourism development by aligning the expectations of the community and visitors with the quality of service. Many issues remain persistent, particularly in the areas of public transportation, road infrastructure, and pedestrian facilities. To address these challenges, this study aims to measure the level of alignment between tourist satisfaction and the importance of various tourism components using the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) method. The results show a level of conformity of 68.97%, with 16 attributes falling into critical Quadrant I, indicating immediate priority for improvement. These results emphasize the need for strategic intervention to improve the overall quality of tourism services in Jambu Tourism Village.

Abstract

Temporary waste collection sites play an important role in supporting urban waste management services. However, the spatial distribution and service coverage of official temporary waste collection sites in Nabire District have not been comprehensively evaluated. This study aims to analyze the spatial distribution and service coverage of official temporary waste collection sites using Geographic Information System (GIS) and to implement the results in an interactive WebGIS. A quantitative spatial approach was applied using official TPS point data, landfill location data, administrative boundary data, and GIS-based spatial processing. The analysis included location mapping, Nearest Neighbor Analysis (NNA), 500-meter buffer analysis, dissolve processing, and administrative overlay. The results showed that the distribution pattern of official temporary waste collection sites tends to be clustered, with an NNA value of 0.7636 and a Z-score of -2.02. The 500-meter service coverage reached only 13.14 km² of the 205.26 km² study area, equal to 6.40%, while 93.60% remained outside the service range. The novelty of this study lies in integrating spatial distribution analysis, service coverage evaluation, and WebGIS visualization to support district-scale waste facility planning.
