Abstract

This quasi experimental research aims to determine the effect of problem based learning model towards students' mathematical communication skill. The population of this research was all students of class VII in SMPN 2 Abung Selatan district of North Lampung in academic year 2017/2018 which were distributed in 6 classes. The sample of this research were students of class VII-2 and VII-3 selected by purposive sampling technique. This research used pretest-posttest control group design. Research data obtained through the test of students' mathematical communication skill. Data Analysis using t test. Based on the result of the research, it could be concluded that problem based learning model had influence towards  students’ mathematical communication skill.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.  Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMPN 2 Abung Selatan Kabupaten Lampung Utara Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018 yang terdistribusi dalam 6 kelas.  Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-2 dan VII-3 yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Analisis data menggunakan uji-t.  Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa model pembelajaran problem based learning berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.Kata kunci: komunikasi matematis, pengaruh, problem based learning

Abstract

This qualitative research was aimed to describe the students critical mathematics discourse on mathematical learning by Socrates Scientific method. The subject of this research was 6 students of VII A class of Junior High School 1 Natar in academic year of 2017/2018. The subject consists of two students with high, medium, and low mathematical ability that was randomly selected by mathematics scores. The data of this research was quali-tative data about students critical mathematics discourse. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that critical mathematics discourse that occurred: (a) facilitated by Socrates questions posed by teacher and the type of Socrates questions were dominated by clarification and assumptions of inves-tigation, (b) related with the indicator of critical thinking skill that was dominated by interpretation and analysis. (c) facilitated by communicating phase on Scien-tific Approach, and (d) the appearance of critical mathematics discourse of students with low mathematical ability was slower than students with high and medium mathematical ability.Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan percakapan kritis matematis siswa pada pembelajaran mate-matika dengan metode Socrates saintifik. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 6 siswa kelas VII A SMP Negeri 1 Natar tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Subjek terdiri dari dua siswa berkemampuan matematis tinggi, sedang, dan rendah yang dipilih secara acak berdasarkan nilai matematika. Data penelitian ini berupa data kuali-tatif tentang deskripsi percakapan berpikir kritis matematis siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa percakapan kritis matematis siswa yang muncul: (a) difasilitasi oleh pertanyaan-pertanyaan Socrates yang diajukan oleh guru dan tipe pertanyaan Socrates yang dominan adalah klarifikasi dan asum-si penyelidikan, (b) berkaitan dengan indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis yang didominasi oleh interpretasi dan analisis, (c) difasilitasi oleh tahapan saintifik mengomunikasikan, dan (d) kemunculan percakapan kritis matematis pada siswa berkemampuan matematis rendah berlangsung lebih lambat dibandingkan dengan siswa berkemampuan matematis tinggi dan sedang.Kata kunci: metode Socrates, pendekatan saintifik, percakapan kritis matematis

Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to know whether the implementation of the Realistic Mathematics Education approach could increase student’s mathematical problem solving skill. The population of this research was all students of grade 7th of SMPN 8 Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2013/2014 that was distributed into eleven classes. By purposive sampling technique, it was chosen students of VII F and VII G class as samples. The research data were obtained by the test of mathematical problem solving skill. The result of research analysis showed that the increasing of student's mathematical problem solving skill with the Realistic Mathematics Education approach was higher than conventional learning. Thus, it can be concluded that the Realistic Mathematics Education approach could increase the student's mathematical problem solving skill.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMPN 8 Bandar Lampung tahun ajaran 2013/2014 yang terdistribusi dalam sebelas kelas. Dengan teknik purposive sampling, dipilih siswa kelas VII F dan VII G sebagai sampel. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education lebih tinggi dari pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian, disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa.Kata kunci: konvensional, pemecahan masalah matematis, realistic mathematics education

Abstract

The Effectiveness of Cooperative Learning Model Think Pair Share In Terms of Students’ Mathematical Conceptual Understanding Ability and self confidence. This quasi-experimental research aimed to find out the effectiveness of cooperativelearning model think pair sharein terms of Students’ Mathematical conceptualunderstanding ability and self confidence. The population of this research was all students of grade VII of SMPN 10Bandarlampung in academic year of 2017/2018. The sample of this research were students of class VIIF and VIIG, that were chosen by purposive sampling technique. This research used pretest-posttest control group design. The data analysis used t’-test and proportion test. Hypothesis test results showed that gain of students’ mathematical conceptual understanding abilities and self confidence in the think pair sharemodel class was higher than the conventional class. Propotion of students’s score at least 70 in mathematical concept understanding abilities was more than 60% of total students in think pair share model class. Based on the research, it can be concluded that cooperativelearning model think pair sharewas effective interms of students’ mathematical conceptual understanding ability and self confidence. Abstract

This research was a quasi-experimental research that aimed to find out the effectiveness of guided discovery learning in terms of student’s mathematical problem solving skill. The population of this research was 8th grade students of SMP Negeri 18 Bandarlampung in academic year 2017/2018 that were distributed into 10 classes. The samples of this research were students of VIII-H and VIII-J class which were chosen by purposive sampling technique. The design of this research was pretest-posttest control group design. The research data were obtained by the test of mathematical problem solving skill. Based on the hypothesis test using Mann Whitney U test on mathematical problem solving skill and proportion test using Binomial Sign test showed that the guided discovery learning model was effective in terms of student mathematical problem solving skill. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 18 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 yang terdistribusi dalam 10 kelas. Sampel penelitian adalah kelas VIII-H dan VIII-J yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Desain yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji Mann Whitney U pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan uji proporsi menggunakan uji Binomial Sign Test menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa.Kata kunci: efektivitas, pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing, pemecahan masalah matematis

Abstract

This naturalistic qualitative research aimed to describe students mathematical critical thinking disposition in Socrates Contextual learning. The subjects of this research were students of VII B class of SMP Al Kautsar Bandarlampung in academic year of 2014/2015. The subjects of this research were chosen by purposive sampling technique. The qualitative data of students mathematical critical thinking disposition were obtained by observation, documentation, questionnaire, and interviews. Before analyzing the data, the researcher did the triangulation of data sources. The data analysis technique of this research used three stages, that were reducting, displaying, and getting conclusion of data. Based on this research, it was concluded that the mathematical critical thinking disposition indicator which appeared dominantly in Socrates Contextual learning was critical thinking of self-confidence.Penelitian kualitatif naturalistik ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan disposisi berpikir kritis matematis siswa dalam pembelajaran Socrates Kontekstual. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII B SMP Al Kautsar Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Subjek penelitian ini dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data kualitatif disposisi berpikir kritis matematis siswa diperoleh melalui observasi, dokumentasi, angket, dan wawancara. Sebelum menganalisis data, peneliti melakukan triangulasi sumber data. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini melalui 3 tahap yaitu reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan simpulan terhadap data. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa indikator disposisi berpikir kritis matematis yang dominan muncul pada Pembelajaran Socrates Kontekstual adalah kepercayaan diri dalam berpikir kritis.Kata kunci: berpikir kritis matematis, disposisi, Socrates kontekstual

Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to find out the influence of discovery learning to the improvement of student’s mathematical representation skill. The population was all students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 2 Banjar Margo Kabupaten Tulang Bawang in academic year 2017/2018 which were distributed into three classes. The students of class VIII 2 and VIII 3 were selected as research samples by random sampling technique. This research used pretest-posttest control group design. The research data was obtained by the essay test of mathematical representation skill. The analysis data used t test and it showed that the improvement of student’s mathematical representation skill which used discovery learning was greater than the improvement of student’s mathematical representation skill which used non discovery learning. The results of this research concluded that discovery learning was influenced to the improvement of student’s mathematical representation skill.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model discovery learning terhadap peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Banjar Margo Kabupaten Tulang Bawang Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018 yang terdistribusi dalam tiga kelas. Siswa kelas VIII 2 dan VIII 3 terpilih sebagai sampel penelitian yang diambil dengan teknik random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan pretest-posttest control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh dari tes kemampuan representasi matematis berbentuk uraian. Analisis data menggunakan uji t  dan diperoleh hasil bahwa peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan model discovery learning lebih baik daripada peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran non-discovery. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model discovery learning berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Kata kunci: discovery learning, kemampuan representasi matematis, pengaruh

Abstract

The population of this research was all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Rumbia Central Lampung in academic year of 2016/2017. The samples of this research were students of VIII-3 and VIII-4 class which was taken by purposive sampling technique. This research used the post test only control group design. The data analysis of this research used Mann-Whitney U test and Binomial Sign test. Based on the result of this research and discussion, it obtained that the mathematical problem solving skill of students who was taught the guided inquiry learning was not higher than the conventional learning. Thus, guided inquiry learning was not effective in terms of students mathematical problem solving skill.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran Inkuiri Terbimbing ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Rumbia Lampung Tengah tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-3 dan VIII-4 yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan post test only control group design. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney U dan uji Tanda Binomial. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing tidak lebih tinggi dari pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran Inkuiri Terbimbing tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa.Kata kunci: efektivitas, inkuiri terbimbing, pemecahan masalah matematis

Abstract

This quasi-experimental research aimed to find out the effectiveness of Alqurun Teaching Model in terms of students’ mathematical concept understanding. The population of this research was all students of grade VII of SMPN 3 Pringsewu in academic year of 2018/2019 as many as 257 students. The sample of this research were students of class VII-E as many as 29 students and VII-F as many as 28 students, that were chosen by purposive sampling technique. This research used pretest-posttest control group design. The data analysis used t’-test and proportion test with . Hypothesis test results showed that gain of students’ mathematical concept understanding abilities in the alqurun teaching model class was higher than the conventional class, but propotion of students with good categorized in mathematical concept understanding abilities was not more than 60% of total students in alqurun teaching model class. Based on the research, it can be concluded that alqurun teaching model was not effective interms of students’ mathematical concept understanding ability.Kata kunci: alqurun teaching model , efektivitas, pemahaman konsep matematis

Abstract

This qualitative research aimed to describe students mathematical critical thinking self-efficacy in Socrates Contextual learning. The subject of this research was students of VII E class of SMP Al Kautsar Bandarlampung in academic year of 2014/2015. The sample of this research was chosen by purposive random sampling technique. The data was collected through observation, interview, questionnaire and video during learning process. Based on analysis of data, students have mathematical critical thinking self-efficacy in high category for magnitude dimension and medium for strength and generality dimension in Socrates Contextual learning. Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan self-efficacy berpikir kritis matematis siswa dalam pembelajaran Socrates Kontekstual. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII E SMP Al Kautsar Bandarlampung tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Sampel penelitian ini dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive random sampling. Data diperoleh hasil observasi, wawancara, angket, dan video selama proses pembelajaran. Berdasarkan analisis data, siswa memiliki self-efficacy berpikir kritis matematis yang tinggi pada dimensi magnitude dan self-efficacy berpikir kritis yang tergolong sedang pada dimensi strength dan generality dalam pembelajaran Socrates Kontekstual.Kata kunci: berpikir kritis matematis, self-efficacy, Socrates Kontekstual
