Abstract

Sustainable tourism has become a central theme in destination development worldwide, driven by increasing awareness of tourism’s environmental, social, and cultural impacts. Within this context, Destination Brand Identity (DBI) plays a crucial role in shaping tourist perceptions and enhancing the long-term competitiveness of destinations. This study presents a systematic literature review using a qualitative approach aimed at examining the contribution of DBI to sustainable tourism destinations. A total of 20 peer-reviewed articles published over the past decade were critically analyzed, focusing on five core themes: (1) DBI dimensions that support sustainability; (2) the role of DBI in enhancing destination sustainability; (3) the integration of DBI with sustainable branding practices; (4) community engagement and local representation in DBI formation; and (5) methodological developments in DBI and sustainable tourism studies. The findings are expected to enrich the academic discourse on DBI and provide practical insights for sustainable destination management.

Abstract

Mumubrandedbag operates in the fashion industry. This research investigates how brand trust mediates the impact of electronic word of mouth (eWOM) and product quality on purchase decisions in Denpasar City. The study included 100 consumers chosen through purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through surveys using questionnaires with a 5-point Likert scale and analyzed using Smart PLS. The findings showed that while eWOM has a positive yet negligible effect on purchasing decisions, it significantly impacts brand trust. Product quality has a significant impact on both brand trust and purchasing decisions. However, brand trust does not have a significant effect on purchasing decisions and does not mediate the influence of eWOM and product quality on purchasing decisions. These findings offer valuable insights for marketing management and suggest future research could include additional variables like brand image, store atmosphere, and price suitability, and expand the research scope

Abstract

This study investigates the mediating roles of brand trust and brand engagement in the relationship between social media marketing (SMM) and repurchase intention, using Coffee Shop Nyeduh Kopi in Tabanan as a case study. Grounded in the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) model, this research explores how SMM, as an external stimulus, influences brand trust and brand engagement to drive repeat purchases. A quantitative approach was employed, collecting data through an online survey from 170 consumers of Coffee Shop Nyeduh Kopi. Data analysis was conducted using SEM-PLS via SmartPLS 3.0. Results confirm that SMM positively and significantly influences repurchase intention, brand trust, and brand engagement. Furthermore, both brand trust and brand engagement directly and positively affect repurchase intention. Crucially, brand trust and brand engagement were found to partially mediate the relationship between SMM and repurchase intention. These findings highlight the importance of cultivating brand trust and engagement through SMM to foster customer loyalty and repeat purchases.

Abstract

This study is a systematic literature review that aims to examine the influence of Consumer Ethnocentrism (CE) and Country of Origin (COO) on consumer purchasing behavior. The PRISMA method is used as an analytical tool in this study, as many as 200 articles from Google Scholar were successfully collected and selected, resulting in 34 relevant articles for in-depth analysis. The results of the study indicate that CE and COO have a significant influence on consumer purchasing decisions. Consumers with high levels of ethnocentrism tend to show a preference for local products and have a negative attitude towards foreign products. Conversely, positive perceptions of COO can increase perceptions of quality, trust, and intention to buy foreign products. However, in certain conditions such as the Covid-19 pandemic, price and product availability factors become more dominant in determining consumer choices. These findings emphasize the importance of marketing strategies that consider aspects of ethnocentrism and COO perceptions in order to create a more effective and relevant promotional approach. In addition, the factor of brand foreignness has also been shown to influence consumer behavior in various countries, including Vietnam, Turkey, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, China, Malaysia, and countries in the African region, indicating cultural variations in the dynamics of global consumer behavior today.

Abstract

The “Amerta Jaya” small and medium-scale food processing industry (IKM) in Sading Village, Badung Regency, has faced increasingly fierce competition over the past three years. This is due to the growing number of players in the industry, which has negatively impacted sales turnover, falling short of the targets. One way to address this issue is through optimal product marketing. Based on preliminary interviews with Mrs. Retno Ika Suryaningsih, the head of the “Amerta Jaya” Food Processing IKM Center—which consists of 31 members in Sading Village—it was confirmed that there has been a decline in sales turnover, and although some marketing strategies have been implemented, they have not been fully effective. The current marketing efforts—ranging from product presentation, pricing, promotion, to distribution—have yet to reach optimal levels, particularly in terms of expanding to supermarkets or mini markets in Badung and Denpasar. This shortcoming stems from limited marketing capabilities. Furthermore, follow-up interviews revealed that, in addition to limited marketing skills, the “Amerta Jaya” food processing IKM also struggles with financial management. These conditions highlight the need for this community service initiative, which aims to equip IKM entrepreneurs in Sading Village with a comprehensive understanding of the importance of financial and marketing management—from designing appealing culinary products to distributing them through various retailers. Therefore, the objective of this community service program is to equip the members of the “Amerta Jaya” food processing IKM in Sading Village, Badung Regency, with essential knowledge on how to comprehensively manage their finances and product marketing, including connecting them to retailers to ensure easier consumer access to their products. The community service activity was conducted on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Sading Village Office and was attended by 17 IKM participants, 17 KKN (student community service) participants from Udayana University assigned to Sading Village, along with the service team. The program was successfully carried out with support from the KKN students stationed in Sading Village, Badung Regency.
