Abstract

Background: Swimming velocity results from a combination of stroke rate (SR) and stroke length (SL). Previously, it was rare to find studies that discussed the pattern of SR and SL length in Olympic swimmers, especially in breaststroke swimmers, as a benchmark reference in a study. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the practical pattern of the stroke rate (SR) and stroke length (SL) of 100 m and 200 m breaststroke swimmers ranked first to third at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Methods: This study uses quantitative descriptive analysis research with non-test techniques using observation. These non-test techniques involve the systematic observation and recording of the SR and SL length of breaststroke swimmers at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, as this study aims to determine their patterns. Results: The results of this study show: in the 100 meters breaststroke men's effective SR pattern (45-75 strokes/min) and SL length (1.33-2.14 m/stroke); 200 meters breaststroke men's effective SR pattern (33-49 strokes/min) and SL length (1.55-2.77 m/stroke); 100 meters breaststroke women's effective SR pattern (30-63 strokes/min) and SL length (1-2.14 m/stroke); and 200 meters breaststroke women's effective SR pattern (32-48 strokes/min) and SL length (1.6-2.5 m/stroke). Conclusion: This research concludes that the effective pattern of SR and SL of 100 m and 200 m breaststroke swimmers, as identified in the results, can serve as a benchmark for understanding and improving the performance of competitive breaststroke swimmers.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the dominant leadership styles applied by licensed C AFC coaches at AREMA FC Academy and ASIFA Academy in Malang City. This study is descriptive research with a quantitative approach, employing a survey method. The sample consists of coaches who are eligible for C AFC licensure, totaling 6 from AREMA FC Academy and 4 from ASIFA Academy. Data analysis in this research utilizes categorization and percentage analysis. The results indicate that the dominant leadership style among C AFC licensed coaches at ASIFA Academy in Malang City is democratic leadership with a percentage of 50%. However, the significant proportions of authoritarian, people-centered, and task-oriented styles suggest that coaches need to possess high adaptation skills. On the other hand, coaches at AREMA FC Academy exhibit a balanced adoption of all four leadership styles (authoritarian, democratic, people-centered, and task-oriented) with a percentage of 50%. This conclusion confirms that coaches at both academies need to integrate various leadership styles to meet the needs and dynamics of athlete training.

Abstract

Research using bibliometric analysis methods in sports journals has never been done, especially in accredited national journals. This study evaluates the pattern and development of publications in the Jurnal SPORTIF: Jurnal Penelitian Pembelajaran from 2015 to 2020. This study uses bibliometric analysis and visualization of similarities using the VOSViewer application for the graphical conception of bibliographic data such as co-occurrence of keywords and co-authorship. Also, this study will also evaluate the most productive institutions, the most productive authors, the most cited articles, the number of citations, and the level of author collaboration. The analysis results show an increase in publication production after the Jurnal SPORTIF: Jurnal Penelitian Pembelajaran was declared accredited by SINTA 2 in 2018, which shows an increase in interest in submitting articles. Forming basic movements in elementary school students through traditional games is one of the currently trending topics, so there are gaps and opportunities to exploit research with this theme. Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri is the most productive institution with 29 articles, while the most productive writer is Budiman Agung Pratama, with five articles published so far. Further research is expected to compare the pattern and development of publications in the SINTA 2 national accredited journals.

Abstract

Talent Identification is essential to identify the potential of young athletes to succeed in senior elite sports. This study aimed to identify talent in sports among children in Malang. This research was an observational cross-sectional study involving 356 children (68% boys) who were purposively selected in Malang city based on age criteria (age 11 years old). Several tests and measurements were conducted for talent identification, including anthropometric tests, eye-hand coordination, leg muscle power, arm muscle power, agility, speed, and VO2max. Sports talent identification was conducted based on Norm developed by Narlan and Juniar. The results were matched into a sports talent profile table according to the age and gender of the participants. Results with the sports branch profile norms were matched, if the test results were at least the same or better than the sports study program, then the child was "talented" in that sport. The results of data analysis showed that two children (0.56%) were in the potential category, 58 children (16.29%) were in the moderately potential category, 172 children (48.31%) were in the low potential category, and 124 children (34.83 %) were included in the non-potential category. Judo, triple jump, long jump, high jump, javelin throw, table tennis, and shot put were sports identified as gifted by children in the categories of potential, moderate, and low potential. The results of the study report that children have the potential to be able to excel in Judo, triple jump, long jump, high jump, javelin throw, table tennis, and shot put.
