Abstract

The purpose of this study to analyze the effect of human resource management practices and the implementation of total quality management on employee performance. This research is quantitative with a population of employees of the Packing Plant PT. Incasi Raya. The analytical method used path analysis, using SPSS version 20. The results of this study indicate that: 1) The practice of human resource management has a positive and significant effect on the implementation of total quality management, 2) The practice of human resource management has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, 3) Implementation of total quality management has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Keywords: Human Resource Management, Implementation Total Quality Management, Employee Performance

Abstract

AbstractProduction becomes an important factor in operating a company whose level of production is stable and in accordance with production targets will make the company survive in competition. To achieve production stability, the layout strategy is one of the important factors that determine the running of the company's production. Distance traveled is a layout indicator that affects the travel distance of raw materials from the storage area to the production area. The per unit labor cost is a layout indicator in the form of costs incurred for each unit in the production process. This study aims to (1) to determine the effect of distance traveled to the production of PT P & P Lembah Karet (2) to find out the effect of unit labor costs on the production of PT P & P Lembah Karet. The analysis used in this study is multiple regression by processing using SPSS software using a 48-week sample of the 2017 production period. The results of this study are (1) Distance Traveled variables that negatively affect the production of PT P & P Lembah Karet (2) unit labor cost variables has a significant negative effect on the production of PT P & P Lembah Karet. Keywords: Production, Layout, Distance Traveled, Unit labor costs.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aimed to examine the impact of innovation, intellectual capital and knowledge management, and competitive advantage on business performance. Design/methodology/approach – This study was conducted in Padang City, West Sumatra, Indonesia. The respondents are bank employees who have worked for more than five years and have structural positions in the company. The data has been collected using a survey with questionnaires. This study got 109 responses out of 135 questionnaires, so the response rate was 80.7%. It employed the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach using Smart-PLS as the data analysis software. Findings – This study found that (1) innovation has a positive and significant effect on competitive advantage; (2) knowledge management has a negative but insignificant effect on competitive advantage; (3) intellectual capital has a positive and significant effect on competitive advantage; and (4) competitive advantage has a positive and significant effect on business performance. Surprisingly, it found that innovation significantly indirectly affects business performance through competitive advantage as a mediating variable. Intellectual capital has a significant indirect effect on business performance through competitive advantage as a mediating variable. Research limitations/implications – This study result can be more impactful considering several factors. First, this study is a cross-sectional study. Hence, it has a limitation in finding generalizations. Therefore, for further research, it could be expanded to a longitudinal study. Second, it is one country study. Future research might be extended to some countries with similar cultures, such as Southeast Asian Countries. Practical implications – This study has implications for the decision-makers. First, companies need to develop their intellectual capital through improving employee skills and applying information technology in business processes in order to maintain the company's competitive advantage so that it has an impact on improving the company's business performance. Second, the company is expected to be able to manage the knowledge owned by the company so that the knowledge it has can increase the creation of company innovation it provides a competitive advantage for the company. Originality/value –The contribution of this research is that the results of this study can be used as empirical evidence for banking companies of the importance of the role of IC, innovation, and KM in improving company performance by constantly creating the company's competitive advantage.

Abstract

Technological advances require companies to follow and adapt to technological developments and require companies to move with existing changes. Companies need a strategy to have a competitive advantage and improve organizational performance in dealing with these conditions. The study empirically tested the effect of mediating supply chain management (SCM) implementation on the relationship between Organizational performance and enterprise resource planning (ERP). The sample of this study were employees of PT. Semen Padang is involved in the supply chain management process and runs an enterprise resource planning system with 100 employees. The results of data processing using PLS-SEM showed a positive and significant effect in the direct relationship between ERP to SCM and SCM to performance. Furthermore, SCM mediates the relationship between ERP and company performance.

Abstract

Abstract.  The objective of this study is to determine the effect of employee engagement and job satisfaction towards employee commitment in banking companies in Padang. The population in this study all employees who work in conventional banking companies in Padang. The sampling technique is a cluster proportional random sampling technique, so that we get 306 samples. Data were analyzed by using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique, with alternative method of PLS. The test shows that that result of the research supports the hypothesis, in which employee engagement has a direct and significant effect towards organizational commitment. The job satisfaction is also found to have a direct and significant effect towards organizational commitment. Lastly, the job satisfaction functions as a partial mediator on correlation between employee engagement with organizational commitment. For further research, the researcher suggests that getting a greater amount of influence between variables, can be tested on different objects and also adding other variables that can affect organizational commitment, such as; personal factors. Keywords: Employee engagement; job satisfaction; organizational commitment.   Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh employee engagement dan kepuasan kerja terhadap komitmen karyawan pada perusahaan Perbankan di Kota Padang. Populasi pada penelitian ini seluruh karyawan yang bekerja pada perusahaan perbankan yang bersifat konvensional di Kota Padang. Adapun teknik pengambilan sampel adalah teknik cluster proportional random sampling, sehingga didapatkan 306 orang sampel. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) dengan metode alternatif yaitu PLS. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan dukungan terhadap hipotesis bahwa employee engagement berpengaruh langsung dan signifikan terhadap komitmen organisasional. Kemudian kepuasan kerja juga berpengaruh langsung dan signifikan terhadap komitmen organisasional. Terakhir kepuasan kerja berperan sebagai pemediasi parsial hubungan antara employee engagement dan komitmen organisasional. Untuk penelitian lebih lanjut, peneliti menyarankan agar mendapatkan besaran pengaruh yang lebih besar antar variabel, dapat diujikan pada objek yang berbeda dan juga menambahkan variabel lain yang dapat mempengaruhi komitmen organisasional, seperti; personal factors. Katakunci: Employee engagement; kepuasan kerja; komitmen organisasional.

Abstract

The study purpose was to examine the quality of e-service impact on intention of repurchase with the satisfaction of customer as a variable of mediating for Shopee users in Pariaman. Primary data from surveys that were distributed online with the aid of Google Forms were used in this study. People who have used and purchased from the Shopee marketplace are required to complete the survey. 110 respondents in total. The analysis tool makes use of SmartPLS 3.3.9. The results of the analysis show that the influence of e-service quality has an impact was significant on the intention of repurchase as evidenced by the P-Value score of 0.000 < ( = 0.05) . The influence of quality of e-service has an impact was significantly satisfaction customer as evidenced by the P-Value score of 0.000 < ( = 0.05 ), then the influence on satisfaction of customer has an impact was significant on repurchase intention with a P-Value of 0.000 < ( = 0.05 ), then the Customer Satisfaction variable has a significant impact as a variable of mediating between quality of e-service and intention of repurchase through a P-Value score of 0.000 < ( = 0.05).

Abstract

Good business performance for every business actor is a major concern to ensure the competitiveness and sustainability of the company. To be able to achieve satisfactory business performance, MSMEs must be able to carry out various strategies such as creating competitive advantage, implementing SCM Practices, and innovate. This study was conducted to see how MSME supply chain management practices, competitive advantage, and innovation affect the Business Performance of Snack MSMEs in Padang City. The population of this research is snack food SMEs assisted by the Department of Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs of Padang City, with a total sample of 130 SMEs. Research data were collected using a questionnaire. The data that has been collected was analyzed using a multiple regression analysis approach with SPSS ver software. 24. The results show that (1) competitive advantage has a significant effect on business performance, (2) SCM Practicessignificant effect on business performance, and (3) innovation has no significant effect on business performance. In Padang City snack SMEs, competitive advantage, SCM Practices and innovation have an influence of 87.7% on MSME business performance.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh Customer Value dan Atribut Didesain terhadap Pengalaman Wisata pada Objek Wisata Taman Margasatwa dan Budaya Kinantan Kota Bukittinggi. Sampel penelitian ini adalah seluruh pengunjung Taman Margasatwa dan Budaya Kinantan di Kota Bukittinggi. Sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 140 responden. Memanfaatkan kuesioner, informasi studi dikumpulkan. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis menggunakan perangkat lunak IBM SPSS Statistics 25. Menurut temuan penelitian ini, Nilai Pelanggan memiliki pengaruh yang besar terhadap Pengalaman Wisata di Taman Wisata Margasatwa dan Budaya Kinantan di Kota Bukittinggi. Di Taman Wisata Margasatwa dan Budaya Kinantan di Bukittinggi, Indonesia, Atribut yang Didesain berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Pengalaman Wisatawan. Di Taman Wisata Margasatwa dan Budaya Kinantan di Bukittinggi, Indonesia, Nilai Pelanggan dan Atribut Desain memiliki efek gabungan atau simultan yang cukup besar terhadap Pengalaman Wisatawan.

Abstract

The objective of this study was just to look into the impact of supply chain management practices on operational performance mediated by using the competitive advantage of package food MSMEs in Padang city. The population during the study were all owners or managers of packaged food MSMEs in Padang City. Non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling type was utilized. As a sample size, 185 samples were used. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0 was used to analyze this study. The result of this study indicate that; (1) supply chain management practices have a major and beneficial effect on operational performance; (2) supply chain management practices have a major and beneficial effect on competitive advantage; (3) competitive advantage has a major and beneficial effect on operational performance, and (4) supply chain management practices have a major and beneficial effect on operational performance through competitive advantage as a mediating variable.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the work measurement in the process of working on pottery in Galogandang village using the stopwatch time study method. This measurement is carried out to determine the standard time of pottery processing and determine the optimal standard output. In this study, work measurements were carried out on competent 15 craftswomen. The data collection method is by observations and interviews. Based on calculations using a stopwatch time study, the results showed that the standard time for working on pottery was 126027.07 seconds or equal to 35.01 hours. Then the results for planning production targets using standard time are as many as 25 units/day for 8.88 work hours that can be a consideration or reference for pottery craftswomen to increase productivity.
