Abstract

This research aims to determine the genetic variability and the heritability character of agronomic some sweet sorghum genotype (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) collection of BATAN. This research has been conducted in Field Experiment and the plant breeding laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from April 2013 to September 2013. This inquiry has been carried on experiments using a randomized block design (RBD) consist of 13 treatments and 3 replications that contained 39 experimental units. Treatment consists of 13 genotypes, there are Patir-1, Patir-2, Patir-3, Patir-4, Patir-5, Patir-6, Patir-7, Patir-8, Patir-9, Patir-10, Kawali, Mandau and Pahat. The outcome showed that Patir-9 was the genotype with the best result because it bears a weight of seeds per panicle, 1000 grain weight and output per m2 higher than other genotypes. Plant height and panicle length wide genetic variability, whereas the other theatrical roles suffer a narrow variability. Characterization of plant height, number of leaves, number of segments per plant, dry weight, panicle length, grain weight per panicle and yield per m2 has a high heritability value, a character who receives a moderate heritability value   that stem diameter and weight of 1000 seeds, while the fiber takes in low heritability values   were age flowering. Abstract

Shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) is one of horticultural commodities that have been intensively cultivated by farmers for a long time. The need for shallots continues to increase along with the increase in population. Currently the productivity of shallots in Riau Province is still low. This study aims to see the effect of the interaction of fertilizer application NPK and Organik Liquid Fertilizer rabbit urine and get the best dose on the growth and production of shallots. This research has been carried out at the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the University of Riau, Bina Widya Campus KM 12.5, Simpang Baru Village, Tampan District, Pekanbaru. The study started from July 2019 to October 2019. The method used in this study was a factorial randomized block design (RAK) consisting of two factors, namely, the first factor was fertilizer NPK P1: 100 kg.ha-1(0,25 gram), P2 : 200 kg.ha-1(0,5 gram) dan P3 : 300 kg.ha-1(0,75 gram). While the second factor is rabbit urine liquid organic fertilizer U1 :100 ml.l-1, U2 :150 ml.l-1, U3 :200 ml.l-1 and U4 :250 ml.l-1. Observations made included plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), number of tubers per clump, tuber diameter, weight of fresh tubers and weight of tubers fit for storage. The data obtained were analyzed by means of variance and the results of the analysis were further tested with the Duncan's test at the 5% level. Keyword(s): Shallots, NPK fertilizer, Organik Liquid Fertilizer

Abstract

ABSTRACT Chili high yield is the target of plant breeding. High yielding chili selection can be done through direct selection of yield characters and indirectly through other characters. Indirect selection is more efficient than the selection of one character. This research aims to study the relationship between quantitative characters with yield as well as obtaining the selection criteria. Correlation analysis results showed that the fruit weight, fruit diameter, pericarp thickness, leaf width, and leaf length were positively correlated and were very significant on yield. Based on the path analysis, characters that have a positive direct effect on yield are fruit weight, fruit diameter, leaf width, and leaf length, while pericarp thickness had a negative direct effect but had a large indirect effect on yield.

Abstract

Seleksi peubah tanaman cabai secara visual dengan memilih fenotipe yang dianggap baik belum dapat memberikan hasil yang memuaskan tanpa berpedoman pada nilai-nilai parameter genetik, yaitu: nilai heritabilitas, ragam genetik, ragam fenotipe dan koefisien keragaman genetik (KKG). Dalam kegiatan seleksi terhadap daya hasil, menggunakan satu peubah saja kurang efektif dan seleksi akan efektif bila menggunakan beberapa peubah secara simultan menggunakan indeks seleksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menduga parameter genetik, variabilitas dan heritabilitas beberapa karakter agronomi galur cabai serta untuk mendapatkan galur yang memiliki daya hasil tinggi melalui metode indeks seleksi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan IPB Leuwikopo, berlangsung dari bulan Juli sampai bulan Desember 2010. Percobaan disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Kelompok, faktor tunggal terdiri atas 15 galur cabai dengan 3 ulangan. Analisis data menggunakan uji F, uji lanjut Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (5%), pendugaan parameter genetik dan indeks seleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan semua peubah yang diamati memiliki nilai koefisien keragaman dengan kriteria yang luas dan memiliki nilai heritabilitas dalam arti luas kriteria tinggi. Galur cabai yang terseleksi adalah IPB009019, IPB002046, IPB002005, IPB002001 dan IPB009002. Terdapat 3 galur hasil persilangan cabai lokal dan introduksi terpilih yang diduga memiliki hubungan kekerabatan jauh serta berpotensi berdaya hasil tinggi.

Abstract

The way to get superior varieties is by selection, namely through genetic parameters including diversity, heritability and genetic progress. This study aims to obtain information on the inheritance pattern of quantitative characters in several genotypes planted on peatlands. This study used a randomized block design consisting of 20 treatments and 3 replications so that 60 experimental units were obtained. Each experimental unit consisted of 20 plants and 10 plants were taken as samples. The results showed that the characters of red chili plant height, dichotomous height, crown width, fruit length, fruit diameter and weight per fruit can be used as selection criteria because they have wide diversity values, high heritability and high genetic progress which can be used as indicators of success. selection. Then, in cayenne pepper, all characters have a narrow genetic diversity value. Characteristics of flowering age, plant height, dichotomous height, crown width, fruit length, fruit diameter, weight per fruit and fruit weight per plant can be used as selection criteria because they have heritability values. and high genetic progress which can be used as indicators of successful selection.

Abstract

Akar menjadi salah satu faktor yang menentukan pertumbuhan, perkembangan, serta hasil tanaman kedelai. Hal ini disebabkan akar menjadi organ pertama yang merespon kondisi media tanam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui variabilitas dan nilai heritabilitas karakter akar beberapa genotipe kedelai. Penelitian dilaksanakan menggunakan wadah dari kaca (rhizobox) di Laboratorium Pemuliaan Tanaman, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Riau. Penelitian dilaksanakan secara eksperimental menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap, dengan perlakuan berupa 20 genotipe kedelai yang diulang 3 kali. Benih yang digunakan berasal dari Balitkabi. Karakter yang diamati yaitu: panjang plumula, panjang akar primer, panjang akar sekunder, jangkauan akar sekunder, kedalaman akar sekunder, dan jumlah akar yang panjang >1 cm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat keragaman genetik yang sangat tinggi pada karakter panjang plumula, panjang akar sekunder, jangkauan akar dan jumlah akar yang panjang >1 cm. Karakter kedalaman akar sekunder memiliki keragaman genetik luas, sedangkan panjang akar primer memiliki keragaman genetik rendah. Nilai heritabilitas seluruh karakter tinggi kecuali kedalaman akar sekunder yang memiliki nilai heritabilitas sedang dan panjang akar primer yang memiliki nilai heritabilitas rendah. Root is one of the important factors that determine the growth, development, and yield of soybean plants. Root is the first organ to respond to growing media conditions. This study aimed to determine variability and heritability values of root characters of several soybean genotypes. The research was conducted using a glass container (rhizobox) at the Plant Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The study was an experimental research in a completely randomized design, with the treatment consisted of 20 genotypes repeated 3 times. The seeds used originated from Balitkabi. The characters observed were: plumule length, primary root length, secondary root length, secondary root reach, secondary root depth, and number of long roots >1 cm. The results showed that there was very wide variability in the character of the plumule length, secondary root length, secondary root range, and number of root range >1 cm. The secondary root depth character had wide genetic variability, while the primary root length had narrow genetic variability. The heritability values for all characters were high except for secondary root depth which had medium heritability and the primary root length had low heritability.

Abstract

Underage marriages are marriages that occur where a man or woman who has not reached the age required by applicable law, that is, if the male has reached the age of 19 and the woman has reached the age of 16. The purpose of community service activities is to provide socialization and understanding to the public about the impact of early marriage in terms of legal, health and education aspects. This activity can also improve knowledge competence, skills, community motivation, and play a role in the formation of a prosperous family village development team. Data collection techniques carried out by interview, observation and document analysis. The results of this community service show the enthusiasm of the community to attend a series of activities, and the active role of the community is quite good. Improved understanding of the community is divided into 3 categories, namely, the village prosperous village development team, health development and Education development. Activities carried out continuously and continuously have a positive impact on community growth and development.

Abstract

Ranah Singkuang is one of 10 villages classified as stunting villages in the Kampar regency area with a percentage of 24%. The Kampar District Government has done prevention programs on stunting condition from 2018 to 2019. If not treated immediately, the condition of stunting will affect the quality of human resources in the future. The condition of stunting causes children not to grow normally, low IQ, susceptible to infectious diseases as a result of low productivity, and difficulty competing in the world of work. The purpose of this community service activity is the transfer of knowledge to the community in Ranah Singkuang village, increasing the knowledge and ability of village community in terms of processing various kinds of fish-based products that have high nutritional values that are salable in the market in order to boost the community’s economy, provide knowledge about children's health by providing education to the community and training children's healthy menus so that their appetite increases. The result achieved from this community service activity are that the community understands more about the importance of nutrition for toddlers especially before the age of 1000 days and the community can process fish-based food, so that stunting problems in the village can be prevented.

Abstract

Abstract Organic waste can be used into various products that have economic value and are environmentally friendly, one of which is eco-enzymes. Eco-enzyme is a multifunctional liquid produced from a fermentation process for 3 months with simple ingredients, namely brown sugar, organic waste in the form of fruit and vegetable peels and water with a ratio of 1:3:10. The benefits of Eco Enzyme are as plant fertilizer, repellent, cleaning drains, detergent, dishwashing liquid, cleaning vegetables and fruit from pesticides, cleaning air pollution, and antiseptic. Community service activities in Pematang Kapau village provide benefits in household waste management. The purpose of this community service activity is to introduce the process of making eco enzymes and the multi-functional benefits of eco enzymes through training and practice of making eco enzymes. This service activity is carried out face-to-face while still adhering to health protocols. One day before the training, the team gave out brochures on the technicalities of making eco enzymes and asked participants to bring organic waste. Based on the results of the questionnaire at the beginning and at the end of the service, 80% said it was in accordance with the needs of the community, 90% added insight, 95% was useful, and the percentage who wanted to do it after training increased from the initial 30% to 100%. Abstrak Sampah organik dapat dimanfaatkan menjadi berbagai produk yang bernilai ekonomi dan ramah lingkungan, salah satunya adalah eco-enzym. Eco-enzyme adalah cairan multifungsi yang dihasilkan dari proses fermentasi selama 3 bulan dengan bahan sederhana yaitu gula merah, sampah organik berupa kulit buah dan sayuran serta air dengan perbandingan 1:3:10. Manfaat Eco Enzyme yaitu sebagai pupuk tanaman, pengusir hama, membersihkan saluran air, detergen, cairan pencuci piring, pembersih sayur dan buah dari pestisida, membersihkan polusi udara, serta antiseptik. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di kelurahan Pematang Kapau memberikan manfaat dalam pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk mengenalkan proses pembuatan eco enzyme dan manfaat multi fungsi dari eco enzyme melalui pelatihan dan praktek pembuatan eco enzyme. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan secara tatap muka dengan tetap mematuhi protokol kesehatan. Satu hari sebelum pelatihan, tim memberikan brosur tentang teknis pembuatan eco enzyme dan meminta peserta membawa sampah organic. Berdasarkan hasil kuesioner diawal dan diakhir pengabdian memperlihatkan bahwa 80 % mengatakan sesuai dengan kebutuhan masyarakat, 90 % menambah wawasan, 95 % bermanfaat, dan persentasi yang ingin melakukan setelah pelatihan meningkat dari yang awalnya 30% menjadi 100 %.

Abstract

Tomato plants are shrubs and are classified as annual plants. Tomato plants have oval-shaped leaves, the edges of the leaves are serrated and have pinnate slits that curve inward. The hairy leaves are about 20-30 cm long and 15-20 cm wide with a stalk length of about 3-6 cm. The research was conducted at the Technical Implementation Unit of the Experimental Gardens, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, Jl. BinaWidya Km 12.5 SimpangBaru, Tampan, Pekanbaru City. This study lasted for 6 months, starting from July to December 2020. This study was a randomized block design experiment (RAK) consisting of 6 treatments and 3 groups, 18 experimental units were obtained. Each experimental unit contained 20 plants. The data observed in the form of quantitative data. The parameters that will be observed are as follows: Flowering age, Harvest age, the ripe fruit, Plant height, Stem diameter, andThe number of fruit cavities. Observation of the number of cavities was carried out as many as 10 pieces per bed. The 7 genotypes tomatoes produced different performances from one genotype to another, especially in plant height, fruit length, fruit diameter, and number of fruit cavities. The genotype was found to be better than the Tora IPB variety, namely the genotype SG15- F10 07897D -9-2-1-6-1-8-5-3 which had better plant height, fruit diameter and number of fruit cavities.Keywords : Horticultura, Growth performance, Genotype
