Abstract

The development of critical thinking skills among elementary school students plays an important role in preparing the younger generation to face the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution era. The method used is a literature study on this theme. The results of the study revealed that Merdeka Belajar Curriculum provides ample space to improve students' critical thinking skills through flexible learning, focusing on students, and closely related to context. Effective strategies include project-based learning, collaborative problem solving, and technology integration in the learning process. However, the research also identified challenges such as the need for intense enrichment of teacher competencies and adaptation of assessment methods to appropriately measure critical thinking skills. In conclusion, Merdeka Belajar Curriculum has great potential to improve the critical thinking skills of primary school students, but this achievement is highly dependent on careful implementation along with comprehensive support from all education stakeholders. Recommendations for further studies include long-term studies on the long-term impact of this curriculum on the development of students' critical thinking skills and the exploration of new assessment models that are in line with the objectives of the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of informal education provided by families on children's social and emotional skills. Informal education includes daily interactions, guidance and support provided by parents and other family members. The results show that informal education in the family environment has a significant influence on children's social development, including communication, cooperation and conflict resolution skills. Children learn social norms and interpersonal skills through the example set by family members, which helps them establish harmonious and effective relationships. In addition to social aspects, informal education also plays an important role in children's emotional development. The emotional support and care provided by the family helps children feel safe and valued, which is important for their emotional health. Through parental guidance, children learn to recognize, express and manage their emotions. The family's role in encouraging children to explore their interests and talents also enhances children's self-confidence and self-esteem. Overall, this study underscores that informal education within the family provides a strong foundation for children's social and emotional development, better preparing them to face the challenges of life.

Abstract

Islamic education management is a structured approach that aims to organize, prepare, implement, and evaluate the education process in the context of Islamic values and principles. The research method used in this study is a literature study. The results reveal that careful and systematic planning, teacher competency development, a comprehensive evaluation approach, and the involvement of parents and the community are the main factors in improving the quality of learning. Good and structured planning includes developing an adaptive and relevant curriculum, so that madrasahs can provide integrated and directed education to meet the needs of students and the demands of the times. Developing teachers' competencies through training and continuing education has proven to be very effective in improving teachers' teaching skills, which in turn improves academic quality and the development of students' Islamic values. A regular evaluation approach helps in identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the learning process and outcomes, enabling the madrasah to make necessary adjustments and improvements. Finally, the involvement of parents and the community in the education process at the madrasah provides a comprehensive and integrated support for students, creating an inspiring and supportive learning environment.

Abstract

Abstract

This article explores ways to address disparities in education through a multisectoral approach, drawing on a review of international literature. Disparities in education, which are influenced by socio-economic, geographical, gender and physical ability factors, require holistic solutions that involve various sectors such as health, economy and society. The review emphasises the importance of policies that not only focus on infrastructure and curriculum but also provide social and financial support for disadvantaged groups. In addition, sustainable and data-driven programme planning is needed to identify the groups most in need of interventions and the types of interventions that are most effective. By adopting this approach, education policy can be more dynamic and responsive to challenges, potentially significantly reducing educational disparities.

Abstract

This research examines the comparative effectiveness of digital and traditional learning in developing countries with the aim of understanding the advantages and challenges of each method in this context. Digital learning offers flexibility and broad access to resources, allowing students to learn at their own pace and cultivate technological skills. However, constraints such as limited technological infrastructure and lack of training for teachers often act as barriers. Meanwhile, traditional learning remains the top choice as face-to-face interaction supports stronger emotional connections and allows for direct customisation to student needs, although it is limited in its appeal and static information. Therefore, many developing countries have started to adopt a hybrid approach that combines the advantages of both methods. The results show that improving the overall quality of education requires investment in digital infrastructure, training for educators, and collaborative support from the government, educational institutions and communities.

Abstract

This study addresses gender differences in literacy and numeracy achievement through a critical review of existing literature. The results show that females tend to excel in literacy, while males often do better in numeracy. Factors influencing these differences include gender stereotypes, social support, pedagogical methods, and individual interests and motivation. This study emphasises the importance of a more gender-responsive and inclusive approach to education to reduce this achievement gap. Recommended strategies include equal interest coaching, gender stereotype awareness programmes and active involvement of parents and the school community. This will create a supportive learning environment for all students, thereby improving overall literacy and numeracy achievement.
