Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the effect  of the Polya model on student learning outcomes of fractional story problems  at 5th grade of Elementary School in III group  Ampek Angkek Subdistrict Agam District in the 2018/2019 school year. This research is a quantitative research with a type of quasi-experiment, design of Non-equivalent control group design. The population in this research is 5th grade in Elementary School III group in Ampek Angkek Subdistrict. The sample of this research is the 5th grade students of SDN 07 Sitapung consisting of two classes that is VA class is 20 students and VB class is 20 Students. Sampling was done with purpose sampling technique. The data announcement instrument used is a description test.  Based on the results of the research obtained tcount  ttable where tcount = 7.84  ttable = 1.72 means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. This shows that the use of the Polya model has an effect on students learning outcomes of fractional  story of the of 5th grade  of the Elementary School III group in Ampek Angkek Subdistrict.Keyword : Polya model, learning outcomes, fractions

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the lattice method on the learning outcomes of multiplication operations of integers in class IV elementary school. This research is experimental research in the form of Quasi Exsperimental Type Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling. In hypothesis testing, simple linear regression test, correlation analysis, and t test were used. Based on correlation analysis, the experimental class obtained rxy 0.825 which is categorized as very strong. The coefficient determination value obtained is 68.06%, so it can be interpreted that the use of the lattice method has an effect of 68.06% on the learning outcomes of multiplying small numbers in class IV. Through the t-test in the form of an independent t-test based on the posttest scores of the experimental and control classes, a tcount of 2.04613 was obtained with a ttable of 2.014 at a significance level of 0.05. When the tcount and ttable are compared, 2.04613> 2.014. This means that Ho is rejected, and Ha is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of using the lattice method with the PBL model on the learning outcomes of multiplication operations of small numbers in class IV elementary schools

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of active involvement of students in Pancasila Education, which has an impact on their understanding of concepts, skills, and attitudes. The purpose of this study was to describe the improvement in student learning outcomes through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in Grade V at SDN 10 Bandar Buat. This research is a Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles with four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were obtained through observation, tests, and non-tests, with the research subjects consisting of classroom teachers and 25 students. The results showed an improvement in the quality of learning, teacher activities, student activities, and learning outcomes. In terms of attitude, the average score increased from 72.95 in cycle I to 82.88 in cycle II. In terms of knowledge, the average score increased from 76.95 in cycle I to 86.41 in cycle II. Meanwhile, in terms of skills, the average increased from 71.19 in cycle I to 85.32 in cycle II. These findings indicate that the application of the Problem-Based Learning model is effective in increasing student participation and learning outcomes in Pancasila Education in grade V at SDN 10 Bandar Buat

Abstract

Although ethnomathematics has been widely examined in previous research, studies that specifically integrate the traditional food getuk as a concrete medium in the development of Canva-based student worksheets (LKPD) for teaching fraction addition remain very limited. This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of Canva-based LKPD incorporating ethnomathematical representations of getuk in improving students’ ability to solve word problems involving fraction addition. A quantitative approach was employed using a 4-D Research and Development (R&D) design, involving 25 fifth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through classroom observations, expert validation, and formative tests, and were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and descriptive statistics. The results indicate that the developed LKPD falls into the “highly valid” category in terms of language, content, and visual design, and is effective in improving student learning outcomes, as evidenced by a Z value of –4.548 with p < 0.001. These findings reinforce constructivist and ethnomathematical theory by demonstrating that concrete experiences grounded in local cultural practices can facilitate deeper understanding of fraction concepts. The study concludes by underscoring the importance of integrating local cultural media into the development of contextual teaching materials, recommending the use of getuk as a concrete medium in fraction instruction, and opening avenues for further research employing stronger experimental designs and larger sample sizes.
