Abstract

Abstrak: lagu Sh-Boom karya Crew Cuts (musisi kulit hitam) yang awalnya bekemudian berubah menjadi genre pop oleh musisi kulit puith. Lagu Shorisinal dipublikasikan pada 19 Juni 1954 dan versi cover-nya munculPada 10 Juli 1954 lagu Sh-Boom masuk dalam daftar lagu-lagu pop hitahun kemudian versi cover ini direkam dan dipublikasikan sebagai lagoleh musisi kulit putih. Pada masa itu sudah menjadi hal yang lumrah musisi kulit hitam di-cover oleh musisi kulit putih. Sindrom cover versaja disebabkan oleh permasalahan rasisme, melainkan juga karena pantara label rekaman keduanya. Sementara itu, sejarah versi cover di Indonesia ditulis oleh Wa216) dalam Modern Noise, Fluid Genres: Popular Music in Indonesia, 1 Penelitian ini membahas perubahan identitas musik pop Indonesia yang dipublikasikan melalui situs YouTube. Lagu yang diteliti adalah Akad dari Payung Teduh yang di-cover oleh Mas Paijo dan Pamit dari Tulus yang di-cover oleh Sintesa Vocal Play. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan transit dan transisi dengan kajian tekstual dan kontekstual pada identitas kedua lagu tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk menemukan bagaimana identitas musik (lagu) beserta musisinya mengalami perubahan; dari versi orisinal menjadi versi cover. Dalam penelitian ini dipahami bahwa versi cover merupakan bentuk pembaruan musikal. Penjelasan mengenai perubahan identitas dalam kedua versi ini dibahas pada dua substansi. Pertama, narasi tentang peran teknologi dalam pembaruan musikal; kedua, uraian tentang perubahan identitas dalam narasi musikal yang meliputi lirik lagu, format lagu, instrumentasi, video musik berserta musisinya. Dengan demikian, perubahan identitas yang ditelaah dalam penelitian ini meliputi dua versi lagu: orisinal dan cover dengan dua narasi yang berbeda. Abstract: contohnya: Band Tor yang meng-cover lagu-lagu Jimi Hendrix, Rastafarlagu-lagu Bob Marley kemudian T-Five meng-cover lagu-lagu Korn and saat itu versi cover diciptakan bukan hanya dari segi komposisi musiknyjuga pada aksi panggungnya. Hingga kini versi cover semakin berkembangdiunggah melalui situs YouTube. Fenomena cover version yang tidak terlepas dari penggunaan tmengantarkan pada pembahasan bagaimana teknologi dan seni (musik)ini diuraikan oleh Yangni (2016: 4-5) bahwa kaitan antara seni dan teknolsejarah relasi keduanya tampak terpisah, namun secara esensial keduany Merunut mundur pada zaman Yunani, tidak ada pemisahan sama sekaliteknologi. Keduanya sama dan satu dilakukan oleh tiap individu dalam This research discusses changing identity of Indonesian pop music’s that was published on YouTube. Spesifically, there are two song’s (consist of original version and cover version) discussed here: firstly, Akad original version by Payung Teduh and cover version by Mas Paijo; secondly, Pamit original version by Tulus and cover version by Sintesa Vocal Play. This research applies transit and transition approach in which the signs in textual and contextual data are examined in their identity. The aim of this research is to find out how music and musician identity are represented in their song’s include in cover version. This research shows that cover version is defined as music renewal of the whole music and musician narration. Description about changing identity in both version (original and cover) was observed in two subject. Firstly, narration about technology involvement in music renewal and secondly, description about changing identity in musical narration (including in song lyrics, song forms, instrumentation, music video and the musician). It can also be said that changing identity refers to both version (original and cover) with two different descriptions.

Abstract

Utsukushisa to Kanashimi to novel was written by Yasunari kawabata, published 1969. This research followed by the analysis of gender construction Otoko within patriarchy environment. Feminist literature critism is a discourse emphasizing on how literature should be done through feminist perpektive. The important things of feminist literature critism are the way the women are described, how a text could be related to gender, and any feminist ideas depicted in the story. The result of this research proves that Otoko faces gender construction such as marginalization, subordinations, sterotyping and sexual violences. Meanwhile, the ideas of feminism in the story are about a woman‟s independence.

ABSTRACTMyth and novel are two kinds of literatures which are different. Myth arised from oral tradition, spiritual art, and primordial of human belief. While novel arised from written tradition that grows from modern culture which identifies the rasio. This research is conducted to see the relationship between myth and Sundanesses novel, and also to know the actualization of myth Sangkuriang and Lutung Kasarung which are retold by Déng’s novel from Godi Suwarna.Keyword: lutung kasarung, sangkuriang, déng, myth, novel ABSTRAKMitos dan novel merupakan dua bentuk karya sastra yang berbeda. Abstract

There are several points that need to be considered regarding cultural acculturation including, what elements are accepted, what elements are not acceptable, what channels are used, through what institutions, and why they can be accepted. Of course, these points relate to the acculturation of Sundanese culture and Islamic teachings, especially in the Sundanese. Regarding the elements that can be accepted by Islamic teachings into Sundanese culture, namely Islamic teachings are not much different from the character of Sundanese culture at the time of its initial spread. Meanwhile, elements that cannot be accepted in acculturating Sundanese culture and Islamic teachings, especially in terms of creed. Regarding the channels used in acculturating Sundanese culture and Islamic teachings in the Sundanese, it has been going on since the kingdoms of Cirebon and Banten began exploring remote areas in West Java.KH Ahmad Sanoesi who succeeded in acculturating Sundanese culture and spreading religious ideas in Sundanese land, especially in Sukabumi through his Islamic boarding school educational institutions.Thus the acculturation of Sundanese culture and Islamic teachings became the main factor in the ease with which Islamic teachings spread to Sundanese society. The supporting theory in this research is Islamicate from Marshall G Hodgshon's statement and Vernacularization by Anthony H Johns. Thus, that there is a statement "Urang Sunda mah geus Islam memeh Islam" made by KH Hasan Mustopa is a clear proof of the many acculturation of Sundanese culture and Islamic teachings that have merged into the Sundanese Tatar so that Islamic teachings are easily accepted by the majority of Sundanese people.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas unsur budaya, kearifan lokal, dan dampak pelanggaran nilai-nilai lokalitas dalam kumpulan cerpen Melintasi Malam karya Korrie Layun Rampan dengan metode analisis deskripstif. Penelitian ini menggunakan antropologi sastra sebagai model pendekatan untuk memberikan gambaran terhadap tema-tema yang akan dibahas dalam objek penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, unsur budaya yang terdapat dalam kumpulan cerpen Melintasi Malam ini yaitu, (1) sistem bahasa berupa kosakata lokal suku Dayak Benuaq; (2) sistem pengetahuan berupa pengetahuan terhadap alam flora, fauna, serta bahan mentah; (3) sistem organisasi sosial berupa sistem kekerabatan dan kepemimpinan; (4) sistem peralatan hidup dan teknologi berupa alat-alat produksi, senjata, wadah, makanan, tempat berlindung, dan alat-alat transportasi; (5) sistem mata pencaharian berupa bercocok tanam di ladang serta berburu dan meramu; (6) sistem religi berupa sistem keyakinan dan upacara; serta (7) sistem kesenian berupa seni patung dan seni musik. Bentuk-bentuk kearifan lokal terdiri dari lou, upacara belian, kegiatan merunti, upacara kematian, sistem pertanian huma, berburu, serta sistem kepemimpinan berupa kepala adat dan petinggi. Adapun dampak pelanggaran nilai-nilai lokalitas terdiri dari kerusakan hutan, kemiskinan, konflik antarkampung, dan kutukan.

Abstract

Negotiation Discourse of Femininity Through Disney Princesses’ Movies. Femininity tends to be explained as a condition ‘to be a woman’, making it an ideology that gives limitations to women. Mills uses discourse theory to explain femininity, stating femininity is a process that is constructed and negotiated in every interaction. Disney Princesses show changes through times and each animation film, showing a negotiation of what defines femininity. The data collection was carried out by qualitative method narrative study, with Performativity of Gender by Judith Butler and Negotiation Discourse of Femininity theory by Sara Mills. Thirteen Disney Princesses were used as researched objects to show the slow changing of femininity. The results of this study show a change in Disney Princesses, through long negotiations based on the wave of feminism that occurred with the Disney Princess characters featured. Indications have shown through the Disney Princess characters who initially showed only stereotypes of feminine elements—such as being passive, gentle, not leaving their safe zone, becoming a Disney Princess who also showed stereotypical masculinity elements— such as being physically active, not easily afraid to discover new things, and showing bravery. This slow shift does not change the identity of Disney Princesses as a princess and as a woman.

Abstract

Dengan pendekatan multiskala tulisan ini ingin menunjukkan peristiwa traumatis 98 sebagai memori kolektif di Indonesia yang dinarasikan oleh para sastrawan, khususnya penulis perempuan. Pendekatan ini mengasumsikan bahwa memori dapat diproduksi dalam berbagai skala. Narasi yang dituangkan oleh para sastrawan  merupakan cara menciptakan kembali kecatatan sejarah dalam skala masing-masing.  Ini merupakan satu upaya untuk menegosiakan kembali apa yang sudah terjadi pada suatu masa dan apa yang tetap diingat oleh karya dua penulis perempuan. Tulisan ini akan bersandarkan pada pendekatan multiskala yang meyakini bahwa memori dapat dilihat dari berbagai skala. Dalam skala besar, tragedi '98 merupakan peristiwa nasional yang terjadi saat krisis ekonomi, dan dalam skala kecil dapat dilihat dalam berbagai persfetif dan kepentingan. Karya sastra memungkinkan untuk menjadi saksi atas peristiwa yang tidak dapat diketahui secara absolut dan memperkenalkan pada pengalaman yang terjadi, tetapi tidak terucapkan dan tidak pernah didengar. Tulisan perempuan dalam menarasikan peristiwa traumatis menjadi fokus penelitian ini. Yang akan dijadikan objek penelitian adalah dua novel yang ditulis oleh perempuan tentang Tragedi 1998. Kedua novel itu adalah Laut Bercerita karya Leila S. Chudori dan Sekuntum Nozomi 3 karya Marga T. Karena sastra berfungsi sebagai sarana dokumentasi dan transmisi sejarah, melaluinya peristiwa disajikan. Kedua pengarang ini --dalam upaya masing-masing-- mendekonstruksi hubungan antara kekuatan politik (negara) pada individu yang  pada akhirnya melahirkan wacana kebangsaan.

Abstract

By applying the mixed research methods combining new historicism and digital humanities with AntConc-assisted distant reading techniques, this research aims to explore a reconstruction of Jakarta's history offered in From Batavia to Jakarta (1619–1999), a collection of poems by Zeffry J. Alkatiri. Results show that history can be reconstructed through the physical structure of narrative poetry represented by the dominant usage of pronoun "they" and intra-sentence conjunctions and prepositions such as "and", "in", and "the" instead of licentia poetica which can violate language rules. However, in the structural analysis, AntConc was not able to detect several linguistic aspects such as typography, figures of speech, metaphors, hyperboles, and personifications in several subchapters, so manual analysis was still required. Results show that the reconstruction of Jakarta’s history by Alkatiri revolves around four main themes, i.e. violence, the struggle against colonialism, Betawi and peranakan cultures, and Jakarta as a city, each of which is imbued with issues pertaining to identity, such as race, class, and urban lifestyle. This reconstruction also features the words "child" and "person" as markers of certain identities.

Abstract

In the early 20th century circa 1914–1940 were Sundanese novels almost "silent" from the colonialism narratives. This condition shows that memories were forgotten, suppressed, ignored, or even omitted in literary works because of the domination of the Dutch East Indies. However, the colonial traces can be revealed through how the narratives are constructed and presented. Through their works, the authors (from the middle class and educated) told about social reality and themselves in the challenges of social change in the early 20th century. This paper aims to reveal the memory selection process of Sundanese novelists in the early 20th century in producing their works under the dominant forces influences: feudal and colonial. The data analysis techniques were as follows, (a) data instrumens: narrative tools, special expressions, projection, and contruction (b) describing the data instrumens, (c) interpreting the data, (d) conclusions. The analysis results are: (1) the authors positioning (as teachers, natives, and employees of the Balai Pustaka) had an affects on the memories selections that were used to constructing narratives about domination and power, (2) the narratives of colonialism memories in five novels are built in three ways: suppressed, diverted, and even erased, (3) The voices behind the colonialism-narratives silent are expressed through the metaphorical traces of power, the pre-colonial and colonial memories as background, and indigenous marginal discourse. Pada awal abad ke-20 sekitar tahun 1914—1940 novel-novel Sunda nyaris “diam” dari narasi kolonialisme. Kondisi ini menunjukkan bahwa ingatan dilupakan, ditekan, diabaikan, atau bahkan dihilangkan dalam karya sastra karena dominasi Hindia Belanda. Namun, jejak kolonial dapat terungkap melalui bagaimana narasi dibangun dan disajikan. Melalui karya-karyanya, para pengarang (dari kelas menengah dan terpelajar) bercerita tentang realitas sosial dan diri mereka sendiri dalam tantangan perubahan sosial di awal abad ke-20. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap proses seleksi ingatan para novelis Sunda di awal abad 20 dalam menghasilkan karya-karyanya di bawah pengaruh kekuatan dominan: feodal dan kolonial. Teknik analisis data adalah sebagai berikut, (a) instrumen data: alat naratif, ungkapan khusus, proyeksi, dan konstruksi (b) mendeskripsikan instrumen data, (c) menafsirkan data, (d) kesimpulan. Hasil analisis adalah: (1) positioning pengarang (sebagai guru, pribumi, dan pegawai Balai Pustaka) berpengaruh terhadap pemilihan memori yang digunakan untuk mengkonstruksi narasi tentang dominasi dan kekuasaan, (2) narasi memori kolonialisme dalam lima novel dibangun melalui tiga cara: ditekan, dialihkan, dan bahkan dihapus, (3) suara-suara di balik narasi-narasi kolonialisme diekspresikan melalui jejak metaforis kekuasaan, kenangan pra-kolonial dan kolonial sebagai latar, dan marginalisasi pribumi.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aims to analyze how the Dangal film displays gender transgression towards gender construction in the sport of wrestling carried out by the Phogat family. By focusing on scenes and dialogue in the Dangal film, this research is analyzed using film narratology which is elaborated on Judith Butler's ideas regarding gender performativity and Sandra Harding's ideas regarding the gender construction process. The results of this research reveal that in the Dangal film, there is gender transgression that is shown not only focused on the physical appearance dimension but also on the conceptual and symbolic dimensions of ideas. However, instead of presenting gender transgression as an act of transcending gender norms that discriminate against women, Dangal ambivalently opposes patriarchal hegemony by not embracing the femininity of the female characters, namely Geeta and Babita, which is carried out through acts of defeminization of their character development.Keywords: Gender transgression; Gender construction; Defeminization
