Abstract

Numerical literacy in early can be used as a tool for developing thinking skills in children, supporting children in developing various talents or intellectual potentials they have, and can be used as a means of cultivating a positive affective side in instilling basic personality. This study aims to describe numeracy literacy skills in early childhood students. This research aims to improve students' reading and numeracy skills through learning about physical education and health. The method used is quantitative. The approach used is an experimental pretest-posttest design. The simple random sampling technique was divided into 2 groups of 50 students in the experimental group and 50 in the control group. This type of research is population research. The data are analyzed by using paired sample t-test with a significance level (p<0.05). Based on the analysis and discussion results, using the learning model using the project with a combination of mathematics and sports can improve literacy and numeracy skills in junior high school students in Bondowoso Regency, East Java. Based on data analysis, the following results were obtained: (1) There was a significance in literacy with sig 0.000 values; (2) There was a significance in numeracy with sig 0.002; (3) There was a significance in the control group with sig 0.000. So that through this research, the expected indicators in the implementation of literacy and numeracy in mathematics and sports can be achieved by students. Project-based learning is beneficial for students and provides motivation.

Abstract

Objective: This community service program aimed to improve the physical condition of football players at a football club in Sidoarjo Regency through sport science–based assistance. Method: The program involved needs analysis, initial physical fitness assessment, assistance in designing and applying physical conditioning programs, and evaluation of outcomes. Educational sessions and practical on-field mentoring were provided to the coaches and players. Results: The program resulted in enhanced understanding of sport science-based physical training, leading to improvements in several components of players’ physical conditions. Coaches and players gained valuable knowledge about the importance of structured physical training. Novelty: This initiative bridged the gap between theoretical sport science principles and their practical application in a local football club, offering a systematic, sustainable physical training guideline. It exemplifies the role of physical education lecturers in developing sports performance at the local level.

Abstract

Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) memiliki peran penting dalam perekonomian nasional, namun masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan dalam penerapan Pertolongan Pertama pada Kecelakaan (P3K) dan keselamatan kerja. Rendahnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan P3K menyebabkan meningkatnya risiko kecelakaan kerja dan gangguan kesehatan pekerja. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman, keterampilan, dan kesadaran pelaku UMKM terhadap P3K dan keselamatan kerja melalui pelatihan yang bersifat praktis dan kontekstual. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan edukatif-partisipatif yang meliputi observasi lapangan, pelatihan dengan komposisi 30% teori dan 70% praktik, pendampingan langsung di lokasi usaha, serta pembentukan kader P3K dan keselamatan kerja. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada UMKM di Kecamatan Tulangan, Kabupaten Sidoarjo, dengan melibatkan pelaku usaha dan pekerja aktif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan kapasitas peserta dalam memahami dan menerapkan prinsip P3K dan keselamatan kerja, meningkatnya kesiapsiagaan dalam menghadapi kecelakaan kerja, serta perbaikan kondisi kerja yang lebih aman dan sehat. Program ini membuktikan bahwa pelatihan P3K dan keselamatan kerja yang sederhana, aplikatif, dan berbasis kebutuhan lapangan dapat diadopsi secara efektif oleh UMKM. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model pengabdian masyarakat dalam mendukung perlindungan tenaga kerja dan keberlanjutan usaha UMKM.

Abstract

Purpose: Passing accuracy is an essential technical skill in volleyball that determines the effectiveness of team attacks and game organization. However, many developing athletes still experience difficulties in maintaining accurate and consistent passing performance. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the relationship between passing accuracy and on-point passing skills among Kendal Sewu volleyball players. Materials and Methods: This study employed a descriptive approach involving 12 active volleyball players from the Kendal Sewu Volleyball Club aged between 15 and 25 years. Data were collected using a questionnaire consisting of 24 items designed to measure passing accuracy and on-point passing performance. Observations during training sessions were also conducted to support the data. Instrument validity and reliability were tested using item-total correlation and Cronbach’s Alpha with SPSS software. Result: The findings indicate that most players still demonstrate inconsistent passing accuracy during training sessions and gameplay situations. Only a small proportion of players showed adequate on-point passing performance, while the majority experienced difficulties in directing passes accurately toward teammates. These findings suggest that technical mastery, coordination, and training variation may influence passing performance. Conclusion: Passing accuracy plays a crucial role in building effective offensive strategies in volleyball. The results highlight the importance of structured and varied training programs to improve passing precision and overall team coordination among Kendal Sewu volleyball players.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to improve T-kick skills in Pencak Silat among students at Ta'Miriyah Surabaya High School through the drill method. The T-kick is a fundamental technique requiring precision, coordination, and consistency. The drill method was selected due to its emphasis on repetitive and focused practice, allowing students to refine specific technical components effectively. Materials and Methods: A quantitative experimental design was applied, involving 20 students participating in the Pencak Silat extracurricular program. The training program lasted six weeks, with sessions conducted twice weekly. To measure improvement, students were assessed using a pre-test before the intervention and a post-test after completing the training. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired t-test to determine the significance of differences between pre- and post-test results. Result: The findings indicated a significant improvement in students’ T-kick performance following the drill-based training. This enhancement was reflected in better accuracy, speed, and overall execution of the technique. The average pre-test score increased from 30.92 to 34.17 in the post-test. Statistical analysis yielded a p-value of 0.000, confirming a statistically significant difference between the two measurements. Conclusion: The drill method proved effective in enhancing T-kick skills among high school students. The structured and repetitive nature of this approach supports skill acquisition and technical mastery in martial arts training. This study highlights the importance of targeted training methods and provides practical implications for coaches and educators in developing students’ fundamental Pencak Silat techniques at the school level.

Abstract

Dinamika kehidupan modern di Kecamatan Tulangan menuntut produktivitas tinggi, namun masyarakat menghadapi tantangan dalam mengelola waktu dan energi secara efektif. Fenomena burnout serta rendahnya partisipasi aktivitas fisik menjadi masalah utama yang berdampak pada penurunan kualitas hidup. Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan produktivitas melalui integrasi manajemen waktu dan aktivitas fisik mikro. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup observasi lapangan, pelatihan intensif selama 7 minggu dengan pendekatan 30% teori dan 70% praktik, serta pendampingan berkelanjutan. Peserta terdiri dari 45 orang perwakilan karyawan, pelaku UMKM, ibu rumah tangga, dan pengurus karang taruna. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman manajemen waktu sebesar 85%, adopsi aktivitas fisik mikro oleh 78% peserta, penurunan keluhan kesehatan 70%, serta terbentuknya 5 kader dan 3 kelompok mandiri. Program ini berhasil menciptakan model intervensi holistik yang terbukti efektif meningkatkan kualitas hidup masyarakat melalui pendekatan integratif antara produktivitas dan kesehatan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of modern music-based physical fitness exercise on students’ physical fitness and learning motivation in physical education. A quasi-experimental method with a pretest–posttest control group design was employed to compare the outcomes between two groups. The participants consisted of 60 junior high school students, randomly assigned into an experimental group and a control group, each comprising 30 students. The experimental group participated in physical fitness exercises accompanied by modern music (pop and EDM), while the control group followed conventional exercise routines. Physical fitness was measured using the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test (TKJI), covering components such as endurance, strength, speed, and flexibility. Learning motivation was assessed using a validated questionnaire based on self-determination theory. Data analysis was conducted using independent t-tests to determine significant differences between groups. The results revealed that the experimental group demonstrated significantly greater improvements in physical fitness and learning motivation compared to the control group (p < 0,05). The use of modern music enhanced students’ engagement, rhythm coordination, and enthusiasm during exercise sessions, contributing to better overall performance and participation. In conclusion, modern music-based physical fitness exercise is an effective and innovative approach to improving both physical fitness and learning motivation among students. This method provides a more enjoyable and meaningful learning experience and can be recommended as an alternative strategy in physical education teaching practices to promote active participation and better learning outcomes.

Abstract

Background Problems: Recent advancements in virtual reality (VR) technology have expanded its practical application in enhancing physical activity and motor skill acquisition among children. Research Objectives: This study aims to investigate the impact of interactive virtual reality software on the motor skills of 11- to 12-year-old elementary school children. Methods: Employing a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental methods, the research was conducted on 34 students from Lontar 481 Public Elementary School in Surabaya, selected through purposive sampling. The instruments used in the physical education learning process using virtual reality media include pre-test and post-test stages, which combine understanding of motor skills, practice, and evaluation by the teacher based on the correctness, fluency, and completeness of student actions. The procedure involved the treatment of experimental group subjects using virtual reality for 40 minutes in the control group, which was carried out conventionally. It was analysed using SPSS via a t-test, and the significance level was set at P < 0.05. Findings/Results: These findings showed a significant positive impact of virtual reality technology on students' motor development and confidence in performing movements, compared to the control group who underwent traditional learning. Conclusion: Research shows that utilising virtual reality programmes increases students' confidence in learning physical activities, especially for those at lower performance levels. The novelty of this research lies in its demonstration of virtual reality's capacity to improve children's motor competence in the context of physical education. Overall, the findings of this study contribute to physical activity and motor skills regarding the use of virtual reality media for elementary school children.

Abstract

Advances in sports technology, particularly Virtual Reality (VR), provide innovative training methods that allow athletes to practice motor skills in simulated and controlled environments. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Virtual Reality Simulation-Based Training on motor skill development in junior tennis players. The research was conducted at a junior tennis club in Singaraja, Bali, involving 20 junior athletes as research participants. This study employed an experimental approach using a pre-test and post-test design. The training program integrated virtual simulations of tennis movements, including stroke techniques, footwork coordination, reaction timing, and spatial awareness. Athletes participated in structured VR training sessions combined with conventional tennis practice over a determined training period. Motor skill performance was measured using standardized tennis motor skill tests that assessed coordination, agility, movement accuracy, and stroke execution. The results indicated a significant improvement in the motor skill performance of junior tennis players after participating in the Virtual Reality Simulation-Based Training program. The integration of VR technology allowed athletes to experience repetitive movement practice, immediate feedback, and immersive training scenarios that enhanced motor learning processes. In addition, VR-based training contributed to increased motivation and engagement among athletes during the training sessions. In conclusion, Virtual Reality Simulation-Based Training is an effective and innovative training approach for enhancing motor skill development in junior tennis players. The findings suggest that the integration of VR technology into tennis training programs can support coaches in creating more interactive, efficient, and technology-driven training environments that optimize motor skill acquisition among young athletes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas latihan Chudan Tsuki menggunakan media karet ban dalam meningkatkan power lengan pada siswa ekstrakurikuler karate di SMA Antartika Sidoarjo. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif, menggunakan desain non-randomized control group pretest-posttest design. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa yang mengikuti kegiatan ekstrakurikuler karate, dengan pengambilan sampel melalui teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen pengukuran yang digunakan adalah medicine ball test, yang dianggap tepat untuk menilai kekuatan dan daya ledak otot lengan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen yang mendapat perlakuan latihan menggunakan karet ban dengan kelompok kontrol yang tidak memperoleh perlakuan serupa. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa penggunaan karet ban sebagai media latihan mampu meningkatkan power lengan secara lebih efektif, khususnya pada teknik dasar pukulan Chudan Tsuki. Dengan demikian, latihan menggunakan karet ban dapat dijadikan alternatif strategi pembelajaran yang sederhana, praktis, dan bermanfaat bagi siswa dalam mengembangkan keterampilan karate, sekaligus memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap pembinaan prestasi olahraga di tingkat sekolah menengah.
