Abstract

Chili is a perennial plant of the Capsicum genus that can grow in both highland and lowland areas. It has a spicy taste due to the presence of capsaicin. The damage to chili products can be classified into mechanical and pathological damage. Steps used to minimize pathological damage include using irradiation and plasma techniques. Irradiation and plasma technologies can be applied by utilizing ozone on horticultural products. This research aims to determine the influence of ozone technique and treatment duration to preserve the freshness of chili horticultural products. The experimental design used in this research is a Randomized Complete Block Design with the treatment factors of ozone technique and treatment duration. The variables in this study include weight loss, changes in vitamin C content, texture, color, and aroma of chili. Ozone technique with ozone gas flow and a treatment duration of 30 minutes yielded the best results for all research variables.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of integrating Civics Education and Religious Education materials in enhancing students' understanding of citizenship concepts and moral values. The study involves detailing the number of students and the demographic information of two groups of 10th-grade students from three well-accredited high schools in Ambon City, with each group consisting of 35 students: one experimental group and one control group. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests, classroom observations, and questionnaires. The research results indicate that the experimental group experienced an increase in average scores from 60 to 85, while the control group only increased from 60 to 70. Paired t-test analyses showed that this increase was statistically significant, with t-values of 3.34 for the experimental group and 2.10 for the control group, both groups having a significance level smaller than 0.05. Observations and questionnaires also revealed that students in the experimental group were more active in classroom discussions and exhibited a more positive attitude toward the material taught. These findings affirm that the integration of civics and Religious Education materials can significantly enhance students' understanding, attitudes, and behaviors regarding moral values and citizenship. This research underscores the significant impact of integrating Civics and Religious Education on enhancing students' understanding of citizenship and moral values. It contributes to the existing literature by providing empirical evidence and emphasizing the necessity of comprehensive teacher training to effectively implement holistic curricula. The implications of this study highlight the need for adequate teacher preparation and ongoing evaluation to ensure successful curriculum integration, positioning this approach as an effective strategy in moral education to shape a younger generation with integrity and responsibility.

Abstract

Population growth and urbanization pose challenges in maintaining sufficient land carrying capacity. This research aims to analyze land carrying capacity and urban development in Sirimau District, Ambon City. Data collection methods involve direct observation and document collection. Data analysis utilizes a quantitative descriptive approach and spatial analysis with overlays of relevant parameters. The results show that the most significant growth occurs in Batu Merah Village. Land carrying capacity calculations reveal an average decrease in residential land carrying capacity. In 2022, Ahusen Village, Rijali Village, and Galala Village recorded a decrease in land carrying capacity below 1, indicating that these areas can no longer accommodate the population residing there. This suggests that population pressure and unchecked urban growth negatively impact land carrying capacity. Sustainable management measures, such as prudent urban spatial planning, protection of green areas, and appropriate infrastructure development, must be implemented.

Abstract

Morphology focuses on elements related to word structure or word forms in language. Various morphological processes are present in morphological analysis, including the reduplication or repetition of word forms. Word repetition or reduplication is a method in which a grammatical unit is reapplied, either in whole or in part, whether there is a difference in sound. In this study, the approach adopted is a qualitative research method. This approach does not involve calculating numbers or statistics but focuses on analyzing data narratively. Therefore, the data used in this research comes from documents, especially the collection of short stories "Atavism" by Budi Darma. The data collected are quotations that include words, phrases, sentences, and discourses related to various forms of reduplication, including complete reduplication, sound-changing reduplication, partial reduplication, and compound reduplication. This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis and comprehensively understand reduplication aspects in Budi Darma's "Atavism" short story collection, including complete reduplication, sound-changing reduplication, partial reduplication, and compound reduplication. Through this research, a clearer picture of the use and effect of reduplication in literary work can be achieved. Keywords: short story, morphology, reduplication

Abstract

Community forests, by definition, are located on privately owned land and are managed by the local people, so there should be no tenure issues related to them. However, several factors can trigger land conflicts. First, community forests are sometimes established under profit-sharing schemes between different landowners and forest farmers who work the land. Still, the agreements are often informal and need to be in accordance with the Basic Agrarian Law (UUPA). Second, community forests planted on idle state-owned land have the potential to cause conflicts between the government and the people. Third, there are conflicts between different managers of community forests. Solutions to prevent and resolve potential tenure conflicts in community forests include: first, providing education and assistance and resolving disputes through negotiation and mediation. Second, state-owned land can be converted into private property (either for individuals or groups), and the land can be designated as HTR (Community Plantation Forests) and HKm (Community Forests). Third, encouraging the clear demarcation of land/forest boundaries used, creating a proportional social structure within the production dimension, ensuring clear land ownership and supervision, and strengthening the institutions of community forest farmers by the gove

Abstract

Bengkulu's resources hold potential for Indonesia's future. This research, using a qualitative method through literature review, aims to create an in-depth report. The social forestry program in Bengkulu contributes to reducing emissions and poverty. The region's marine biodiversity includes fish, mangroves, and coral reefs. Erosion and accretion occur at river mouths due to waves and construction. The community is aware of socio-economic vulnerabilities. A proposed coastal management strategy involves coastal cell units. The expansion of mangrove areas has been claimed by various parties. The mangrove ecosystems in Bengkulu exhibit specific temperatures, salinity, pH, DO, and TDS levels. Conservation efforts involve local communities. Bengkulu also has potential for hydropower in Lebong, North Bengkulu, Kaur, and Muko-Muko. Additionally, Bengkulu's energy potential includes geothermal and micro-hydro power. Strategic utilization is needed for long-term energy security. New applications of these resources have positive impacts on villages, energy efficiency, and economic opportunities. A map of micro-hydro energy potential is essential for its benefits, and Bengkulu is crucial for national energy security.
