Abstract

Physics is a branch of science that plays an important role in students' science process skills. One learning model that focuses on science process skills is the Discovery Learning model. This research aims to determine the improvement in students' science process skills before and after the Discovery Learning model was implemented in class X SMA Negeri 3 Bone. The research method used was a pre-experimental study with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The first stage involved administering a pretest to measure initial abilities, the second stage involved implementing the Discovery Learning model, and the third stage involved administering a posttest to measure science process skills and evaluate the learning that had taken place. The sample in this research consisted of 33 students in class X EI of SMA Negeri 3 Bone in the 2024/2025 academic year. Science process skills were measured using a test instrument based on the indicators of questioning and predicting, classifying, planning investigations, applying concepts, analyzing data and information, evaluating, and communicating. Based on the results of descriptive statistical analysis, the average pretest and posttest scores were 10.38 and 15.26, respectively. Meanwhile, the results of the N-Gain analysis showed an average of 0.80, which is classified as high. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Discovery Learning model can significantly improve the science process skills of grade X EI students at SMA Negeri 3 Bone in the high category.

Abstract

Pencarian informasi dan data yang relevan merupakan bagian integral dari proses pembelajaran, baik bagi guru maupun peserta didik. Di era digital saat ini, search engine menjadi sarana utama untuk mengakses informasi dan sumber belajar di internet. Penggunaan search engine dalam pembelajaran modern memberikan banyak manfaat. Siswa dapat dengan mudah mengakses informasi yang mereka perlukan, memperdalam pemahaman mereka terhadap topik tertentu, dan meningkatkan efisiensi dalam belajar. Namun, penggunaan search engine juga menghadapi tantangan, seperti ketidakakuratan dan ketidakrelevanan informasi, serta masalah terkait dengan kualitas dan keandalan sumber informasi. Tantangan ini juga dirasakan oleh guru-guru SMA Negeri 5 Gowa yang memiliki kebutuhan yang besar terhadap penggunaan search engine dalam penyediaan materi pembelajaran dan pencarian informasi terkait topik yang sedang dipelajari. Solusi yang dapat diterapkan adalah pelatihan tentang optimalisasi hasil pencarian search engine menggunakan metode foot print. Metode ini memungkinkan pengguna untuk menyajikan hasil pencarian yang lebih spesifik sesuai dengan kebutuhan mereka, meningkatkan efisiensi dan akurasi dalam mendapatkan informasi. Dengan pelatihan ini, guru dan siswa dapat meningkatkan keterampilan mereka dalam menggunakan search engine untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran dan penelitian.

Abstract

This research is a correlational descriptive study that aims to describe formal reasoning and understanding of physics concepts and the relationship between the two. The population in this study were all students of class XI MIPA SMAN 3 Wajo, while the number of samples based on the Proportional Random Sampling technique was 135 students. The instrument research is in the form of formal reasoning test instruments and understanding of physics concepts. Instrument validation used the Gregori test and continued with empirical validation Data analysis techniques performed consisted of descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. Based on the descriptive statistical analysis, it was found that the students' formal reasoning and conceptual understanding were in the medium category. Meanwhile, based on inferential statistical analysis, the results of the product-moment correlation test obtained an r count of 0,584. The value of the r count which is positive indicates the relationship between variables is positive. The results of the significance test obtained 0,01<0,05 so it can be said that the relationship between formal reasoning and understanding of physics concepts is significant. Abstract

The Effect of Science Process Skills-based Worksheet to Improve Students' Creative Thinking Skills in Physics Learning. Objective: This study aimed to examine the effect of using SPS-Based Worksheet on improving students' creative thinking skills in learning Physics. Methods: Experimental method was implemented using non-equivalent control group design, involving 30 high school students who were divided into experimental class and control class. Data analysis was conducted using t-test to compare the average improvement of creative thinking skills between the two groups, as well as ANOVA to measure differences in achievement based on students' ability levels. Findings: The results showed that students in the experimental class had a significant improvement in creative thinking skills compared to students in the control class. Based on the analysis of creative thinking indicators, it was found that the experimental class showed significant improvement in all indicators, namely fluency, originality, flexibility, and elaboration, with the highest contribution in the originality indicator. In addition, result of ANOVA test showed that students' ability level had a significant influence on the achievement on each indicator, where students with higher ability level showed more consistent achievement on all indicators. Conclusion: This study shows that the use of SPS-Based Worksheet is effective in improving students' overall creative thinking skills, especially in science process skills, and in learning Physics. Keywords: student worksheets, science process skills, creative thinking skills, physics.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i3.2024112

Abstract

This research is a type of Research and Development (R&D) study utilizing the 4D model development method (Define, Design, Development, and Dissemination). The study was conducted at MAN 1 Buton Selatan with the aim of designing and analyzing a valid, practical, and effective Merdeka flow-based physics teaching module that can improve student learning outcomes. The developed Merdeka flow-based physics teaching module was then tested on 25 students of class X-1 and evaluated by 10 practitioners or physics teachers from Siompu District and West Siompu District, Buton Selatan. The instruments used in this study included a validation sheet for the physics teaching module, practitioner assessment questionnaires, and a validated student learning outcomes test. The results showed that the Merdeka flow-based physics teaching module at MAN 1 Buton Selatan was valid, with an Aiken's V value of 0.74, practical, with a practitioner response score of 92.44%, and effective, with 80% of students showing a high category improvement in physics learning outcomes based on the N-gain calculation. Based on the results, the Merdeka Flow-based physics teaching module is overall considered valid, practical, and effective for use in the physics learning process.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi guru SMA Mahaputra Tello Makassar dalam merancang dan mengimplementasikan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis digital. Pelatihan dilakukan melalui workshop, pendampingan, dan penerapan langsung menggunakan aplikasi Padlet, Canva, Kahoot!, Quizizz, dan PhET Simulations. Metode kegiatan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan teknis, praktik pembuatan media, simulasi pembelajaran, serta evaluasi melalui observasi dan penilaian kinerja. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman guru mengenai konsep media interaktif, kemampuan teknis dalam pembuatan materi digital, serta keterampilan mengintegrasikannya ke dalam pembelajaran. Sebanyak 95% peserta mampu menghasilkan media interaktif, dan 88% dapat mengimplementasikannya dalam skenario pembelajaran. Pembentukan komunitas digital juga memastikan keberlanjutan program. Kegiatan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogis dan teknologi guru serta relevan dengan pemenuhan Indikator Kinerja Utama (IKU) perguruan tinggi.

Abstract

This research is a development researchs. The aim is to produce a physics teaching module oriented to a scientific approach. This teaching module is used to improve students' science process skills. The subjects of the research trial were 34 students of class X of SMAN 13 Makassar. The development model of the physics teaching module oriented to a scientific approach is a 4-D instructional model consisting of define, design, development, dissemination. The research instrument used a validation sheet, a practitioner assessment questionnaire, and a science process skills test instrument. Based on the results of the data analysis, the following conclusions were obtained: the physics teaching module oriented to a scientific approach was declared valid and feasible to use with an integrated scientific approach learning activity structure and a collection of questions according to the science process skills indicators; the physics teaching module oriented to a scientific approach reviewed from the assessment of practitioners, namely physics subject teachers, was in the very good category; the effectiveness of the physics teaching module oriented to a scientific approach reviewed from students' science process skills using the N-Gain score was in the effective category. This can be interpreted that the physics teaching module oriented to a scientific approach that was developed is effective in improving students' science process skills.

Abstract

This research is a type of Research and Development (R&D) research with a 4D model development method. The 4D stages include: defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. This research and development aim to design and analyze a physics teaching module based on Problem Based Learning that is valid, practical, and effective and can improve students' argumentation skills. The number of validators who provided an assessment of the validity of the module content was 3 validators, the number of teachers who provided an assessment of practicality was 10 physics teachers, and the physics teaching module based on Problem Based Learning that had been developed was tested on 36 students of class X.9 of SMA Negeri 2 Makassar. The instruments used in this study included validation of the open physics module, teacher response questionnaires, and validated argumentation ability tests. The results of the study indicate that the physics teaching module based on Problem Based Learning is in the valid category with an average Aiken's V value of 0.79, practicality with a percentage of teacher responses of 89% is in the very practical category, and effectiveness with an average N-Gain of 0.62 is in the moderate category. Based on these results, the physics teaching module based on Problem Based Learning as a whole is considered valid, very practical, and quite effective for use in the physics learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the content validity of the developed Science Process Skills (SPS)-based physics instructional materials; analyze the responses of educational practitioners regarding the quality and practicality of the materials; and analyze the effect of the developed SPS-based physics instructional materials. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The developed product was validated by three experts, its practicality was assessed by ten physics teachers, and it was tested on 36 tenth-grade students. The instruments used in this study included a validation sheet for the instructional materials, a practitioner response questionnaire, and a validated critical thinking skills test for students. The results showed that the SPS-based physics instructional materials were validated using Aiken’s V index, with an average score of 0.81 for content feasibility, 0.82 for presentation, 0.82 for language, and 0.81 for graphical aspects. The overall average score was 0.82. The hypothesis testing showed that tcount = 8.006 ≥ ttable = 1.994, indicating a significant difference in critical thinking ability between students taught using the SPS-based physics materials and those taught using conventional materials. Based on these findings, the developed SPS-based physics instructional materials are valid according to experts, practical based on teachers’ assessments, positively received, and effective in improving students’ critical thinking skills, thus feasible for implementation in physics learning as a supportive medium to enhance students’ critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

This study is a type of research and development (R&D). The research was conducted by the Four-D models. This study consisted of four stages, namely needs analysis (analyze), product design (design), product development (development), and product dissemination (dissemination). The purpose of this research was to produce a project-based physics teaching module to improve students' science process skills that meet the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The project-based physics teaching module was validated by three experts. The test subjects were Grade XI students of State Senior High School 13 Takalar in the 2025/2026 academic year. The results of the study indicate that expert assessments of the developed physics teaching module were analyzed using the Aiken's V index, with an average content feasibility score of 0.78, a presentation feasibility score of 0.76, and a graphic feasibility score of 0.78 in the moderate category. Meanwhile, the language feasibility score was 0.82 in the high category. The results of the expert judgment of the project-based teaching module yielded a cumulative response score of 87.33%, categorized as very practical. The implementation observation results yielded a cumulative score of 81.30%, categorized as practical. Therefore, the project-based physics teaching module was considered feasible for implementation and use. The effectiveness of the project-based physics teaching module was determined based on the pre-test and post-test results of students' science process skills, which were analyzed using the N-gain test. Overall, the average N-gain score of students was 0.68, categorized as moderate. It can be concluded that there was an improvement in the science process skills of Grade XI students of State Senior High School 13 Takalar through the use of the project-based physics teaching module. This indicates that the project-based physics teaching module is effective for physics learning.
