Abstract

Simplicia is a natural ingredient used for medicine and has not undergone any process changes and is in the form of dried material. Drying is a necessary process in maintaining the quality of a simplicia. This study aims to analyze the comparison of the amount of Ie Seu Um Geothermal and non-geothermal star fruit extracts to calculate yield value, dry weight of simplicia, drying loss, extract weight, percent yield and identify active compounds in wuluh starfruit taken from the Ie Seu Um Geothermal area. and non-geothermal Aceh Besar Aceh Province. The laboratory research method begins with oven drying. Extraction was carried out by maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent with a solvent ratio of 1:10 for 3x 24 hours. Then the extract was concentrated with a rotary evaporator, the yield value was calculated, and the phytochemical test was carried out. The identification results show that there are differences; sample dry weight, drying loss, extract weight and percent yield of geothermal and non-geothermal starfruit extract. In the ethanol extract of the wuluh starfruit Ie Seu Um Geothermal dry weight of simplicia 152 grams, drying loss 1,992.4 g, yield 52, 63%, extract weight 80 grams and the results of phytochemical screening of samples of ethanol extract of starfruit wuluh Ie Seu Um geothermal contain phenolic compounds, flavonoids, steroids, saponins. In non-geothermal star fruit ethanol extract, simplicia dry weight 150 g, drying loss 1,992.5 g, yield 3,075%, extract weight 61.5 grams and the results of phytochemical screening samples of non-geothermal star fruit ethanol extract contain phenolic compounds, flavonoids, steroids , saponins.. In conclusion, the weight of the extract and the yield of the ethanol extract of the bilimbi wuluh geothermal fruit is higher than that of the non-geothermal.

The population and sample are all students in grades I, II and III totaling 40 students and their parents. The results showed that students with dominant crowding had parents with sufficient knowledge as many as 9 respondents (100%). Meanwhile, students with dominant crowding had parents with poor knowledge of 13 respondents (54.2%) and students who did not experience dominant crowding had mothers with poor knowledge of 11 respondents (45.8%).The results of the chi-square statistical test obtained a value of p = 0.006 (p <0.005), Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between parental knowledge and crowding of children's teeth at SDN Lamsayeun Kec. Want Jaya Kab. Aceh Besar.

Abstract

Background: Based on RISKESDAS 2018, 45% of the population in Jambi experiences dental and oral health issues, but only 9.5% receive medical treatment. The proper tooth brushing behavior in Jambi is very low, at only 1%. Research shows that 70% of children with intellectual disabilities have moderate oral hygiene, and more than 50% are in poor condition. Videos have proven to be effective in improving oral hygiene and tooth brushing skills. Observations at SLBN 1 Kota Jambi indicate that 100% of children brush their teeth incorrectly and 95% have poor OHI-S status, necessitating video education for improvement. Method: This study uses a pre-experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test. Results: The statistical test output shows a p-value of 0.000 for skills and OHI-S. Since the value of 0.000 < 0.05, the hypothesis is accepted, meaning there is a difference between pre-test and post-test skills and OHI-S. It can be concluded that videos are effective in improving tooth brushing skills and reducing OHI-S in intellectually disabled students at SLBN I Kota Jambi in 2024. Conclusion: The use of educational videos has proven effective in improving tooth brushing skills and reducing OHI-S scores, reflecting improved oral hygiene among intellectually disabled students at SLBN I Kota Jambi in 2024.

Abstract

Oral health is an important aspect of maintaining overall health, especially in elementary school-aged children. Lack of understanding about oral hygiene can lead to various dental health problems, such as caries and periodontal disease. This community service program aims to improve oral hygiene status through dental health education for students of SDN 33 Banda Aceh City and their parents. The method used was pre-test and post-test without control group with univariate analysis. The intervention included counseling, demonstration of proper tooth brushing, and examination of debris index and calculus index. Results showed significant improvements in parents' knowledge, attitudes, and practices towards their children's dental health. In addition, there was an improvement in children's oral hygiene status, with the proportion of the poor category decreasing from 45.7% to 5.7%, while the good category increased from 22.9% to 42.9%. This program proves that dental health education conducted in a direct and interactive manner can increase awareness and habits of maintaining oral hygiene. Therefore, similar educational programs need to be carried out in a sustainable manner with the support of schools and parents

Abstract

ABSTRACT Control of debris or plaque is an effort to prevent plaque buildup. These efforts can be mademechanically or chemically. Getting rid of dental plaque and neutralizing the pH of saliva from the tooth surface isdone by brushing your teeth and gargling. Herbal mouthwash that can be used is lemon juice, a bright yellow fruitknown to have an acidic taste. This study aims to determine the effect of rinsing lemon water (Citrus Limon L) onthe debris index and salivary pH in fifth-grade students of SDN 12 Banda Aceh City. This type of research is quasiexperimental. The subjects in this study were all Class V students of SDN 12 in Banda Aceh City, totaling 60children, then divided into two groups, the intervention group consisted of 30 children given intervention (garglingwith lemon juice), and the control group consisted of 30 children who were not given intervention (gargling withwater). Analysis of data results (quantitative) in this study using; using the non-parametric (Wilcoxon) and MannWhitney. The results of the study show. There was no difference in the mean value of acidity of saliva (salivary pH),and index debris means statistically significant values (p 0.05) in the control group (rinsing with water before andafter the intervention. There was a mean difference in the value of acidity of water saliva (salivary pH), and indexdebris means were statistically significant (p 0.05) in the treatment group (rinsing with lemon juice) before andafter the intervention. There was no significant difference between the treatment and control groups in pH Salivaand index debris before intervention ( pre-test). It was shown p statistically 0.05. There was a significant differencein the Saliva pH and index debris after the treatment (post-test) between the treatment and control groups. p 0.05,which means that gargling with lemon juice containing 10% citric acid can cause changes in the pH of the saliva andthe debris index. San lemon can be used as an alternative mouthwash to overcome dental and oral health problems. KEYWORDS: Lemon Water Gargle, Debris Index, Saliva pH
