Abstract

Legalitas kapal nelayan di bawah 7 GT merupakan syarat utama dalam menjamin keselamatan pelayaran, registrasi resmi, dan akses bantuan dari pemerintah. Namun, dalam praktiknya, banyak nelayan menghadapi kendala dalam pengurusan dokumen Pas Kecil, baik karena keterbatasan teknologi maupun sosialisasi. Untuk itu, Direktorat Jenderal Perhubungan Laut menerapkan sistem elektronik E-Pas Kecil yang bertujuan mempercepat dan mempermudah pelayanan, yang diimplementasikan di berbagai pelabuhan, termasuk di UPP Kelas III Juwana. Penelitian ini memperkuat studi sebelumnya seperti oleh Fridayani Aviska Berlian (2023) yang meneliti optimalisasi E-Pas Kecil di KSOP Tanjung Emas, serta oleh Ika Devy dan Nihayatus Sholichah (2023) yang membahas pelayanan publik terhadap kepemilikan Pas Kecil di Lamongan. Berbeda dari penelitian-penelitian tersebut, fokus penelitian ini terletak pada analisis pelayanan dan pemahaman nelayan terhadap sistem elektronik E-Pas Kecil di wilayah kerja UPP Juwana. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan pendekatan observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam kepada nelayan, serta studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data dan analisis tematik terhadap respons-respons yang diperoleh dari lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan E-Pas Kecil di UPP Juwana memberikan kemudahan dan efisiensi dalam proses pelayanan. Namun, ditemukan beberapa kendala utama yaitu kurangnya pemahaman nelayan terhadap teknologi, keterbatasan infrastruktur jaringan internet, serta minimnya sosialisasi. Di sisi lain, dokumen E-Pas Kecil terbukti penting untuk legalitas, perlindungan hukum, dan akses bantuan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan edukasi digital kepada nelayan, perbaikan infrastruktur pendukung, serta penguatan koordinasi antar pemangku kepentingan guna mengoptimalkan pelayanan E-Pas Kecil di pelabuhan-pelabuhan perikanan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh manajemen kru (crew flow management) terhadap kegiatan operasional di PT. Arjuna Samudera Indonesia sebagai Perusahaan ship manning agency. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada pentingnya pengelolaan alur kru kapal yang efektif dan efisien untuk mendukung kelancaran proses kegiatan operasional. Permasalahan utama yang diangkat adalah ketidakseimbangan antara jumlah kru yang dibutuhkan dengan ketersediaan aktual, yang dapat menghambat proses crew change dan keberangkatan kapal secara tepat waktu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan penyebaran kuesioner kepada 90 responden yang merupakan kru aktif dan staf Perusahaan. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan metode gap analysis supply-demand serta congruence model dari Nadler Tushman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan crew flow management di PT. Arjuna Samudera Indonesia sudah efektif, namun terdapat ketidakseimbangan antara jumlah kru dan kebutuhan aktual, yaitu 5.91% di tahun 2023 dan 6.56% tahun 2024, yang disebabkan oleh permintaan kru mendadak dan keterbatasan kru standby yang memenuhi kualifikasi. Alasan terjadinya ketidakseimbangan ini disebabkan oleh, efektivitas operasional terganggu akibat penempatan kru tidak tepat waktu serta dokumen yang belum lengkap, dan kurangnya koordinasi antar divisi, yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kegiatan operasional, khususnya dalam efektivitas penempatan kru, kelengkapan dokumen, dan pemenuhan jadwal operasional kapal. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi penting bagi Perusahaan untuk meningkatkan koordinasi antar divisi dan sistem perencanaan penempatan kru agar proses operasional dapat berjalan lebih optimal.

Abstract

Udang rebon merupakan hasil tangkapan utama nelayan sukolilo baru, Kenjeran, Surabaya. Saat musim panen, nelayan mampu mendapat udang rebon hingga 150kg/kapal dengan jumlah kapal yang aktif melaut ±30 unit.. Untuk menghasilkan udang rebon yang bagus, perlu proses pengeringan dengan memanfaatkan panas matahari selama 2-3 hari tergantung cuaca. Padahal puncak musim udang rebon terjadi pada saat musim penghujan. Hal ini menjadi kendala, karena nelayan masih sangat ketergantungan dengan panas matahari untuk proses pengeringan. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, maka perlu adanya alat pengering modern. Terdapat dua bagian utama yakni bagian sistem pemanas otomatis dan sistem pengering. Sistem pemanas otomatis menggunakan pemanas infrared berbahan bakar gas LPG dengan pengatur suhu. Bagian kedua yakni sistem pengering menggunakan rak bertingkat, agar dapat menghemat lahan penjemuran. Alat pengering udang rebon menggunakan sumber bahan bakar gas LPG, dengan tujuan untuk menghemat ongkos produksi dibandingkan jika memakai sumber energi listrik. Alat ini mampu mengeringkan udang rebon hingga 50 kg dalam waktu 2.5 jam dengan suhu pemanasan 45-50 derajat celcius.

Abstract

Pelabuhan Tanjung Emas merupakan salah satu pelabuhan strategis di wilayah Jawa Tengah yang memiliki peran penting dalam mendukung sistem logistik nasional. Untuk mengarahkan pengembangannya secara terencana, Pemerintah Indonesia telah menetapkan Peraturan Menteri Perhubungan Nomor 18 Tahun 2013 tentang Rencana Induk Pelabuhan Tanjung Emas. Namun dalam pelaksanaannya, terdapat berbagai kendala yang mempengaruhi pencapaian target pembangunan infrastruktur pelabuhan seperti yang telah dirancang dalam rencana induk pelabuhan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis gap, didukung dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui studi dokumen, observasi lapangan, dan wawancara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan rencana induk pelabuhan telah dilakukan namun belum sepenuhnya sesuai dengan tahapan yang direncanakan terutama pada tahap jangka pendek antara lain reklamasi lahan dan pembangunan breakwater sisi barat pelabuhan yang berdampak pada keterlambatan pelaksanaan tahapan jangka menengah dan jangka panjang. Berdasarkan hasil gap analysis, ditemukan bahwa terdapat deviasi signifikan pada Dermaga Pelabuhan Dalam I dan II. Dermaga Pelabuhan Dalam I mengalami deviasi panjang sebesar -231 meter dari perencanaan 517 meter menjadi aktual 288 meter. Sementara Dermaga Pelabuhan Dalam II mengalami deviasi sebesar -604,5 meter dari 834 meter menjadi 230 meter. Kendala utama yang teridentifikasi meliputi aspek teknis (perbedaan antara perencanaan dan pelaksanaan), administratif (hambatan perizinan dan tumpang tindih kewenangan), keterbatasan anggaran, dampak kondisi lingkungan seperti banjir rob dan penurunan tanah. Selain itu, kurangnya koordinasi antarlembaga yang belum terintegrasi secara strategis. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, studi ini merekomendasikan perlunya review rencana induk pelabuhan secara berkala, memperkuat koordinasi lintas sektor, dan merumuskan strategi pengembangan yang adaptif dan berkelanjutan untuk mengoptimalkan fungsi Pelabuhan Tanjung Emas sebagai simpul logistik nasional.

Abstract

On tanker ships, boilers play a crucial role in providing steam for various operational needs. The stability and reliability of the temperature and water level control system are essential to maintaining efficiency and safety on board. This research aims to design and develop an automatic control system using Outseal PLC and HMI to regulate the temperature and water level in boilers. The research method used is experimental, where the system is designed, developed, and tested to evaluate its effectiveness.The system design involves a DS18B20 sensor to detect temperature, an ultrasonic sensor to measure water levels, and a heater as a heating actuator. The Outseal PLC functions as the main control unit, while the HMI facilitates monitoring and operation. The results show that the system can control water temperature within the desired range, with an average setpoint achievement time of 3.5 to 4.5 minutes. Additionally, the water level control system operates in real-time with a high level of accuracy.The implementation of this automatic control system based on Outseal PLC and HMI is expected to improve operational efficiency and safety on tanker ships. Moreover, it can serve as a reference for developing similar control systems in the maritime industry.

Abstract

As an archipelagic country, Indonesia has significant potential for the utilization of renewable energy, particularly wind energy in maritime areas with low wind speeds (3–6 m/s). This study aims to design and test a vertical Savonius wind turbine system equipped with a Perturb and Observe (P&O) Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm as a power source for shipboard water heating systems. The research method applied is Research and Development (R&D), integrating several components such as a DC generator, full-wave bridge rectifier, INA219 current sensor, anemometer cup sensor, ESP32 microcontroller, and a monitoring interface utilizing Google Spreadsheet and a 20x4 LCD. The system was tested under two operating conditions: without MPPT and with MPPT. The experimental results show that the application of the MPPT algorithm successfully increased power output by up to 272.64% while maintaining voltage stability despite varying wind speeds. Nevertheless, the average output power of 2.605 W remained insufficient to meet water heating requirements within a short time. For example, charging a 12V 50Ah battery would require approximately 9.6 consecutive days of operation, highlighting the system’s limitations in high-demand scenarios. Despite these constraints, the findings demonstrate that the vertical Savonius wind turbine integrated with MPPT has strong potential as a clean and environmentally friendly alternative energy solution for maritime applications, particularly for small-scale onboard electrical loads. This study contributes to renewable energy utilization in the shipping sector and provides a foundation for further technological development and optimization.

Abstract

Water heating systems on ships play a crucial role in supporting crew comfort and operations. However, conventional systems generally operate continuously without automatic control, resulting in energy waste and high operational costs. This situation drives the need for innovation in more efficient and environmentally friendly water heater designs. This research aims to design and implement an automated water heater temperature control system based on an ESP32 microcontroller with on/off control and the use of paraffin wax as a latent heat storage medium. This design is expected to improve energy efficiency while reducing the operational costs of water heaters on ships. The research methodology includes system design, hardware assembly, and performance testing, both static and dynamic. Testing was conducted to evaluate temperature stability and energy efficiency in system conditions with and without the use of paraffin wax. The results showed that paraffin wax improved water temperature stability while reducing the frequency of heater activation. In a 24-hour test, the system without paraffin wax recorded a heater operating time of 15 hours, consuming 8.85 kWh of electricity and costing Rp11,965.20. In contrast, the Paraffin Wax system only requires 10 hours of heater operation, consumes 5.90 kWh, and costs Rp7,976.80. This demonstrates energy savings of 2.95 kWh and a cost efficiency of up to 58%. Therefore, the ESP32-based water heater automation system and heat storage using Paraffin Wax are proven to be more energy-efficient, cost-effective, and have the potential to be an innovative and environmentally friendly solution for ship operational needs.

Abstract

This research develops an automated temperature control system for water heaters, that is both efficient and stable, driven by the need for energy-saving heating solutions, particularly for marine applications. The main objective was to create an automatic system capable of maintaining water temperature within an optimal range while maximizing energy efficiency through the use of thermal storage materials. The methodology involved an on-off control system based on a microcontroller as the main controller, capable of processing temperature sensor data in real time. This system intelligently activates and deactivates the heater to keep the water temperature stable. Paraffin wax was used as a latent heat storage medium, playing a crucial role in gradually storing and releasing thermal energy to support temperature stability. An automatic water heater system based on the ESP32 microcontroller with an on-off control mechanism was successfully designed using paraffin wax combined with silica sand as a thermal storage medium. The addition of silica sand significantly enhanced heat conductivity and temperature stability. Test results showed a substantial reduction in energy consumption, with daily savings reaching Rp12,762.88, equivalent to 67% of total daily energy costs. Over a one-year period, the total savings amounted to Rp4,658,103.20, demonstrating that the paraffin wax–silica sand combination is highly effective in improving energy efficiency and reducing long-term operational costs.

Abstract

Enhancing the efficiency of renewable energy on ships is crucial for reducing dependency on fossil fuels. This research employs the Research and Development (R&D) method, aiming to design and implement a solar panel optimization system for battery charging, with a focus on increasing power efficiency and providing real-time performance monitoring. The system is designed using Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technology to maximize the solar panel's power output. A 200Wp solar panel with dimensions of 1290 x 760 x 30 mm was utilized. Static testing results show that the deployed sensors possess a high degree of accuracy, with an average error of 0.71% for the temperature sensor and only 1.81% for the light sensor used to monitor environmental conditions. Dynamic and system integration tests prove that the MPPT implementation significantly increases power output efficiency by 30.83% compared to a system without MPPT. Furthermore, the system with MPPT charges the battery approximately 27% faster. Additionally, the developed Modbus protocol-based monitoring system enables comprehensive and remote monitoring of key parameters such as voltage, current, temperature, and light intensity via a cloud database. Data communication reliability tests confirmed the system's capability to transmit entire data packets to a Google Sheets database at a periodic interval of 15 seconds without failure. Based on these results, the developed solar panel optimization system is feasible for implementation in maritime environments to enhance the utilization efficiency of renewable energy and the operational reliability of onboard systems.

Abstract

This study presents the design and implementation of a hybrid propulsion control system for a trimaran vessel using fuzzy logic. The system integrates a Brushless DC (BLDC) motor and an internal combustion engine, controlled by STM32 and ESP32 microcontrollers, with sensors for speed and current monitoring. The fuzzy logic algorithm was developed with two input variables—speed error and delta error—and one output variable for motor control. Experimental testing was conducted on a trimaran prototype in river conditions to evaluate system performance. The results show that, without fuzzy logic, the vessel’s speed fluctuated significantly, deviating from the reference set point. In contrast, with fuzzy logic control, the vessel maintained a more stable speed, achieving an average error of less than 5%. This demonstrates that fuzzy logic can effectively address the non-linear characteristics of hybrid propulsion systems, providing adaptive control that enhances speed stability and energy efficiency.
