Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the outdoor study method in enhancing ecological intelligence in the cognitive aspect among fifth-grade elementary school students in Adiwiyata schools in Laweyan District. While outdoor learning is known to promote environmental awareness, its impact on cognitive ecological understanding remains underexplored in the elementary context. One experimental class used outdoor study as part of a quasi-experimental design, whereas the control class used traditional classroom instruction. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test, Mann-Whitney U test, and effect size calculation were used to examine the data, which were gathered utilizing pretests, posttests, and N-Gain analysis. The experimental group's posttest scores significantly outperformed the control group, according to the results, which also indicated a larger effect size and higher N-Gain score. These results imply that outdoor study enhances students' ecological cognitive abilities more than traditional approaches. However, successful implementation requires contextual learning activities and active engagement with the local environment. The study reinforces the importance of experiential learning in fostering meaningful understanding of environmental issues in early education.

Abstract

Kecerdasan intelektual (IQ) sering disebut sebagai faktor utama yang berkontribusi terhadap keberhasilan akademis, tetapi penelitian terkini menyoroti pentingnya kecerdasan menghadapi tantangan (AQ) untuk menentukan ketahanan siswa terhadap tantangan. AQ didefinisikan sebagai kemampuan untuk mengatasi kesulitan, dan dikategorikan menjadi tiga tingkatan: Quitters, Campers, dan Climbers. Individu dengan AQ rendah cenderung menyerah ketika menghadapi rintangan, sedangkan individu dengan AQ tinggi menunjukkan kecenderungan untuk tekun dalam mencari solusi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi profil AQ siswa sekolah dasar kelas empat di kecamatan Pedan. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif, dengan ukuran sampel 50 siswa dari tiga sekolah dasar negeri terakreditasi A dan B. Pengukuran AQ dilakukan berdasarkan empat aspek: Control, Origin and Ownership, Reach, dan Endurance. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas siswa tergolong Campers (58%). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun peserta didik secara umum menunjukkan ketahanan dalam menghadapi tantangan, mereka mungkin belum mencapai tingkat kegigihan yang optimal. Studi ini merekomendasikan penelitian masa depan, pemeriksaan yang lebih mendalam terhadap faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi AQ dan pengembangan strategi pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan ketahanan akademis siswa.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to know the impact of the Learning Model Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) on Critical Thinking Skills (KBK) on learning IPA reviewed from the Internal Locus of Control. (ILC). This type of research is quasi-experimental. The sample of this study was 88 pupils, of which 46 pupils were grouped into experimental classes for treatment using the SRL learning model and 42 pupils treated using the Direct Instruction learning model. (DI). Data collection techniques use tests and scales. The data was then analyzed using the Anava Two Way Hypothesis Testing Technique and the Schaffe Advanced Testing Method. The results of the study showed that there was an influence between the SRL learning model and the DI learning model on pupils with low, medium, and high ILC against KBK on IPA learning with a significance level of 0,000 > 0,05. Students with a high ILC have a better KBK score (87,46) when given the SRL learning model. While students with low internal locus have a better and responsive KBK score (67,86) when given with the DI learning model. However, overall learners with low, medium, and high ILCs were better when given the SRL learning model with a marginal rate of 73.41.

Abstract

This research focuses on illustrating the enhancement of storytelling skills through the implementation use of Let's Read media in younger grades. The study utilized Classroom Action Research (PTK) with a framework based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, executed in two distinct cycles. Each cycle comprised stages of planning, implementation, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects involved were 22 third grade students from SDN Dukuhan Kerten, including 6 boys and 16 girls. Various methods for data collection were employed, including observation, interviews, storytelling assessments, and documentation. To ensure validity, both source and method triangulation were applied. Findings revealed that the use of Let’s Read media led to improvements in students' ability to recount stories across both cycles. In the first cycle, the enhancement was 68.4%, equating to 13 students, while the second cycle saw a rise of 89.4%, involving 17 students. This progress was evident in storytelling skills as student demonstrated coherent narration, fluent delivery, appropriate intonation, correct expressions, and accurate pronunciation.

Abstract

This research aims to find out whether there is a relationship between the self-efficacy variable and the cognitive learning outcome variable. The research design taken is correlational research with data collection techniques in the form of tests and scales. The research population is the entire student PGSD UNS Forces 2021. Sampling is done using the random cluster sampling technique. The data analysis technique used is simple correlation coefficient analysis. From the results of data analysis can be drawn the conclusion that there is no positive and significant relationship between self-efficacy and cognitive learning outcomes with the acquisition of a significance value of 0,657 > 0,05 with a pearson correlation value of -0,054.

Abstract

The aims of this study were to: (1) describe students' reading interest in reading literal comprehension of narrative texts, (2) describe students' learning motivation in reading literal comprehension of narrative texts. The research design used is descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach. The research was carried out at SDN 1 Pantirejo Sragen.  The subject of this research was 5th grade students wihich had 13 students. Collecting data using questionnaires, observations, tests, and interviews. The validity of the data used is a triangulation technique with data analysis using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results of the research conducted showed that: (1) students' reading interest and motivation in reading comprehension skills were different and not the same, (2) students' reading interest and learning motivation were related to their literal reading comprehension skills.

Abstract

This research aims to explore how the case-based learning model impacts problem-solving skills in relation to the curiosity levels of elementary school teacher education students at Sebelas Maret University. The study employed an experimental approach with a population consisting of second-semester students from the class of 2023. Cluster random sampling was utilized to select the participants, resulting in a sample size of 62 students. Class 2A received instruction through the case-based learning model, while class 2D experienced direct learning methods. Data was gathered using a curiosity scale and a problem-solving test. Two-way ANOVA was employed for data analysis. The findings revealed that the case-based learning model positively influences students' problem-solving skills. Additionally, curiosity was found to significantly affect problem-solving skills, yet there was no interaction effect between the case-based learning model and curiosity on students' problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

Abstract. The study aims to determine the effect of self-regulated learning modules on academic procrastination and critical thinking skills of college students in PGSD UNS. The type of research is experimental research with a quasi design. The research population was PGSD UNS students with a sample of 67 students. Samples were divided into an experimental class and a control class. The class that became the experimental class was 2E with a total of 34 students, while the class that became the control class was 2F with a total of 33 students. Content validity using Aikens V states all instruments are valid. The reliability instruments using Alpha Cronbach's stated that all instruments were reliable with a coefficient value of 0.833 on the academic procrastination scale and 0.713 for the critical thinking test. Hypothesis Test using Manova Test Multivariate Analysis. The Manova test shows a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. The conclusion is that there is an influence of the self-regulated learning module on academic procrastination and critical thinking skills of PGSD UNS students.

Abstract

Art education is effectively implemented for elementary school students regarded the formation of learning circumstances that provide chances for children in an effort to develop a child's sense of sensitivity, imagination, and creativity, but remain under control. The research was conducted to find out the relevance between the current art education with Ki Hadjar Dewantara's art education ideology. The research was conducted with the subjects of grade 2 elementary school students and class teachers. The method used in the research is descriptive qualitative method with triangulation data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the research are that the teacher not only teaches the dance, but also the values comprised in the dance so that students can understand the message or content conveyed from the dance, even though students have not been able to convey messages to the audience through non-verbal movements. There are three aspects that must be fulfilled, namely Wiraga, Wirama and Wirasa. However, two of those aspects, wirama and wirasa, have not been maximized. Not all learners are able to harmonize movements with the rhythm, and live the dance movements performed.

Abstract

Critical thinking is an important ability for students to face the demands of the times. One of the factors of a person's critical thinking is the existence of metacognition awareness in a person. Metacognitive awareness is able to train one's way of thinking in controlling the process of cognition by involving critical thinking in that process. This research was conducted to investigate the effect of metacognition awareness on the critical thinking skills of PGSD UNS students for the 2022/2023 academic year. This study uses a quantitative approach to the type of associative research. The population in this study were all second semester students using Cluster Random Sampling as a sampling technique. Data analysis techniques in this study used descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistics including prerequisite analysis tests and hypothesis testing. The results of the study based on the significance test of the regression coefficient (T test) obtained t count > t table (2.049 > 1.982) and Sig. 0.042 <0.05. The coefficient of multiple linear regression is positive by 0.384 which means that there is a unidirectional relationship which means that there is a unidirectional relationship, then increased metacognition awareness will be followed by increasing critical thinking skills, while the result of the determination coefficient is 20%. These results indicate that metacognition awareness affects the critical thinking skills of PGSD UNS Surakarta students for the 2022/2023 academic year.
