Abstract

The miracle of the Qur'an, had dragged classical theologians into a contentious debate, especially between Mu'tazilah theologians and Ahlussunnah theologians regarding the concept of shirfah. With a miracle intermediary, Allah SWT reminded people that the apostles were envoys who received support and assistance from the sky. The miracle that has been given to the prophets has the same function, namely playing its role and overcoming the intelligence of its people besides proving that the power of Allah SWT is above all things.

Abstract

As a miniature of Indonesia’s diversity, North Sumatra requires a long transformation within the framework of religious moderation to build harmony and maturity. This study aims to reveal the dynamic spectrum of religious moderation in the bubble of North Sumatra’s local wisdom. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method by involving six subjects who were selected through a purposive sampling technique. Subject criteria are natives of North Sumatra and have sufficient knowledge of religious moderation in the local custom of North Sumatra. In-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis were used to collect the required data. This study reveals a vast spectrum of diversity among the North Sumatrans. In the meantime, religious moderation is evidence of upholding religious ideals integrated with the local culture. Moreover, this research also shows how the people of North Sumatra from the following three regions, (1) Padangsidempuan and South Tapanuli, (2) Central Tapanuli and Sibolga City, and (3) Tarutung, practice the values of religious moderation in their daily activities. They performed this practice because of the desire to maintain unity in diversity and high aspirations to build a society that is peaceful, harmonious, and free from all conflicts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetrahui (1) Pengunaan metode pembelajaran Tahfidz Qur’an dalam menguatkan hafalan santri di Pondok Pesantren Al-Ansor Maunggang Julu Kota padangsidimpuan. (2) Faktor- faktor penghambat dalam Menguatkan Hafalan Santri tahfidz Qur’an di Pondok Pesantren Al-Ansor Manunggang Julu. (3) upaya yang dilakuakan dalam menguatkan hafalan Al-Qur’an Santri di Pondok Pesantren Al-Ansor Manunggang Julu Kota Padangsidimpuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif bersifat deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu Pimpinan Pondok Pesantren, guru dan santri Pondok Pesantren Al-Ansor. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Kegiatan tahfidz Qur’an santri di Pondok Pesantren Al-Ansor yang berkaitan dengan penguatan hafalan Al-Qur’an dengan menggunakan beberapa metode pembelajaran tahfidz Qur’an yaitu metode talaqin,metode sima’I, metode takrir, metode talaqqi, metode,metode mudarasah, dan metode muraja’ah. (2) Faktor penghambat dalam menguatkan hafalan santri tahfiz Qur’an ada dua faktor yaitu internal dan eksternal, internalnya yakni rasa malas dan susah menghafal, eksternalnya yaitu lingkungan. (3) Upaya yang dilakuakan dalam menguatkan hafalan Al-Qur’an Santri ialah dengan cara membaca ayat Al-Qur’an yang telah dihafal dibaca ketika sholat, memperdengarkan bacaan yang telah dihafal kepada orang lain, berwduh apabila merasa ngantuk, menggunakan metode pembelajaran tahfidz Qur’an dan memberikan motivasi kepada santri.

Abstract

It is believed that Islamic law provides a fair share for inheritance among men and women or among sons and daughters. However, it does not always happen that way like what occurs in Angola Batak community with Muslims as its majority at the South Tapanuli. This article focuses on married daughters’ gain in inheritance share. The problems discussed are: First, what are the types of married daughters’ inheritance gain in Angkola Batak’s customs? Second, what are triggering factors beyond the types of married daughters’ inheritance gain? Third, how does the sharing practice imply to the Islamic law? This field research relies on primary data obtained from both observation and interviews. Research informants were selected based on relevance criteria to the research subject, Angkola Batak women who get the inheritance share from their birth families and some relevant parties. Additionally, it also used secondary data from a literature study employing a sociological approach to reveal the reality vividly. The interpretative data analysis was through several stages starting from data collection and reduction and then drawing conclusions. It reveals four types of married daughters’ share in inheritance: (1) in contrast to the share of sons, (2) the share is collectively distributed among fellow sisters, (3) the share is temporary, and (4) no inheritance gain at all. Second, the four types stem from both socially constructed considerations as well as divinely given factors. Third, the share implies either improvisation, deviance, as well as local values embed in Islamic law.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the position of Ash Ziqri savings in conventional bank from Islamic law perspective using empirical legal study methods. This was achieved by collecting data through document study, observation, and interviews. The results showed that Ash Ziqri savings with bank interest withdrawal rate of 5% were considered usury from Islamic legal perspective. Savings were also considered gharar even though the payments were not intended for customers or bank but channeled through charitable activities such as the construction of mosques and the provision of compensation for orphans and the poor. Therefore, the public was encouraged to conduct social charity activities through zakat, infaq, and sadaqah without mixing the process with activities prohibited by Islam.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of childcare by fathers after divorce in Padang Lawas County. This phenomenon raises the interest of researchers to further examine child custody by fathers after divorce. The research method used is field research with a qualitative approach. Researchers collected primary data through interviews with traditional leaders and fathers caring for their children after divorce. The data obtained was then analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques, which involved collecting data through interviews and documentation and systematic data processing to describe and interpret existing phenomena. The results show that although customs in Padang Lawas County give custody to the father, it is essential to consider the provisions of the compilation of Islamic law and the broader principles of Islamic law. Child custody should focus on the best interests of the child, ensuring their physical, emotional, and mental development. Both parents have equal rights unless there are compelling reasons to the contrary, and they must work together to maintain the child's stability. Children have the right to adequate education and healthcare, as well as to maintain a good relationship with both parents, even if only one has primary custody.

Abstract

This study explores the relationship between Pancasila values and religious moderation in Indonesia, and how these values can promote a moderate, harmonious, and tolerant religious life. As the country with the largest Muslim population, Indonesia faces challenges in maintaining religious harmony amidst diversity. Analyzing the five principles of Pancasila, the study finds that the first principle (belief in One God) and the second (just and civilized humanity) lay a strong foundation for religious moderation. The third principle (Unity of Indonesia) stresses the importance of unity despite religious differences, while the fourth (Democracy guided by wisdom) encourages interfaith dialogue to resolve conflicts. The fifth principle (Social Justice) advocates for equitable welfare without discrimination, including in religious matters. The findings suggest that Pancasila can serve as a philosophical basis for religious moderation, promoting tolerance, dialogue, and respect for religious pluralism. The study also recommends expanding Pancasila values through education, government policies, and community empowerment to enhance religious moderation understanding. However, limitations in geographic scope and sample size suggest further research is needed for a more comprehensive perspective.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the role and implementation of multicultural education in shaping students' character to live harmoniously in the midst of diversity. The method used is a literature review with both theoretical and practical approaches to the multicultural education models applied in various countries. The results of the study indicate that multicultural education has a significant impact in reducing prejudice, increasing empathy, and developing the social skills necessary in a pluralistic society. A curriculum that integrates multicultural values, teacher training that is sensitive to diversity, and the use of participatory teaching methods have proven to be effective in creating an inclusive learning environment. Based on the findings, the recommendations proposed include the need for enhanced teacher training on cultural diversity, the development of a more adaptive curriculum to multicultural values, and the provision of more adequate resources to support the implementation of multicultural education in schools.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the relevance of the multicultural values contained in the Medina Charter within the context of contemporary Islamic politics. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative approach, involving a literature review on the Medina Charter and political policies in majority-Muslim countries that adopt pluralistic values. Data collection was conducted through library research, which included reviewing primary texts and academic studies on multiculturalism in Islamic politics. The analysis was carried out using content analysis to understand how the multicultural values in the Medina Charter can be applied in modern politics. The results show that the Medina Charter offers relevant solutions to address the challenges of multiculturalism, particularly in terms of social justice, equal rights, and religious freedom. This research concludes that the values within the Medina Charter can serve as a foundation for political reform in Muslim-majority countries, emphasizing intergroup dialogue and inclusive policies that respect diversity. Thus, the Medina Charter can serve as a model for Islamic politics in the era of globalization, capable of creating a more just and harmonious society.

Abstract

Ethnocentrism-based bullying is one of the social problems that can occur in Islamic boarding school environments. As a religious-based educational institution, Islamic boarding schools have an important role in integrating the values of multiculturalism to create an environment of harmony and mutual understanding and respect. This article aims to analyze the implementation of multicultural education in preventing ethnocentrism bullying in Islamic boarding schools. Through literature research, this article identifies multicultural education strategies based on the values of tolerance, justice and respect for diversity. The results of the discussion show that multicultural education can be carried out through the development of an inclusive curriculum, teacher training, and strengthening the value of togetherness in the daily lives of students.ABSTRAKBullying berbasis etnosentrisme merupakan salah satu permasalahan sosial yang dapat terjadi di lingkungan pondok pesantren. Sebagai lembaga pendidikan berbasis keagamaan, pesantren memiliki peran penting dalam mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai multikulturalisme untuk menciptakan lingkungan yang harmonis dan saling menghormati. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi pendidikan multikultural dalam mencegah bullying etnosentrisme di pondok pesantren. Melalui penelitian pustaka, artikel ini mengidentifikasi strategi pendidikan multikultural berbasis nilai-nilai toleransi, keadilan, dan penghormatan terhadap keragaman. Hasil pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan multikultural dapat dilakukan melalui pengembangan kurikulum inklusif, pelatihan guru, dan penguatan nilai kebersamaan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari santri.
