Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mendampingi warga dalam melakukan daur ulang sendiri sampah anorganik di Bank Sampah Kampung Bersih Nusantara Makassar. Program ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tingginya volume sampah anorganik yang tidak terkelola dengan baik, yang berdampak negatif terhadap lingkungan dan kesehatan masyarakat. Melalui pendekatan partisipatif dan edukatif, program ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran dan keterampilan warga dalam pengelolaan sampah anorganik.Hasil program menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kesadaran dan partisipasi warga. Partisipasi aktif warga meningkat, dengan 80% dari mereka terlibat dalam kegiatan daur ulang. Selain itu, jumlah sampah anorganik yang didaur ulang meningkat sebesar 50% dibandingkan sebelum program. Dampak positif lainnya termasuk terciptanya lingkungan yang lebih bersih dan sehat, serta penguatan kebersamaan dan rasa tanggung jawab di antara warga.Kesimpulannya, program pendampingan ini berhasil mencapai tujuannya dengan meningkatkan keterampilan warga dalam mendaur ulang sampah anorganik dan mengurangi jumlah sampah yang berakhir di tempat pembuangan akhir. Rekomendasi untuk pengembangan program di masa depan meliputi perluasan cakupan program, peningkatan ketersediaan alat dan bahan daur ulang, serta pelatihan lanjutan untuk menciptakan produk daur ulang yang lebih beragam.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine whether the case study methodology has a substantial effect on students' problem-solving skills when compared to traditional learning approaches. The research sample consisted of 56 students divided into two groups: experimental (taught using the case study approach) and control (taught using the traditional method). The quantitative quasi-experiment approach was applied in this study. The experimental class had an average value of 70.7143, whereas the control class had an average value of 62.1429. The independent t-test yielded a significance value of 0.055, suggesting a degree of significance lower than the standard criterion of 0.05. The key conclusion of this study is that employing case studies improves soft skills during the learning process. However, the development of pupils' hard skills is still seen as minor. This study contributes to a better understanding of the influence of the case study technique on problem-solving learning. These findings may be used to provide practical recommendations to increase the efficacy of learning methodologies in acquiring both types of abilities. More study is needed to investigate the elements that impact the observed outcomes and increase the statistical significance in the development of students' skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) learning model to traditional learning in developing the competence to manage Hazardous and Toxic Materials (B3) in basic laboratory courses. In this form of experimental research utilizing a Pre-Test and Post-Test Control Group Design, The N-gain values in the experimental (0.774) and control (0.8163) groups increased significantly, with g> 0.7 indicating a high category. The N-gain percent in the experimental (77.4026) and control (81.627) courses topped 76%, showing that both learning approaches were effective. Even though the Mann-Whitney non-parametric test revealed no significant difference between the experimental and control groups on the posttest and pretest, the conclusion that PBL had no meaningful impact must be regarded in the context of this study. Overall, both PBL and traditional methods improved B3 handling abilities, and these findings may aid in the creation of more effective learning methodologies in the future.

Abstract

This training was held in the Manimbahoi Village Meeting Room, Parigi District, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi Province on August 31, 2023. Participants in this training were young people from Karang Taruna, with the aim that the community, especially young people in Manimbahoi Village, could understand the importance of digital marketing as an effort to market Manimbahoi coffee products not only in the Parigi District area but also to the National area. This community service activity went smoothly and as expected. The results of this service show that there has been an increase in the abilities and knowledge of the village community from not knowing to knowing about digital marketing for coffee marketing. Abstrak Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan di Ruang Pertemuan Desa Manimbahoi, Kecamatan Parigi, Kabupaten Gowa, Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan pada tanggal 31 Agustus 2023. Peserta dari pelatihan ini adalah pemuda karang taruna, dengan tujuan warga masyarakat khususnya pemuda di Desa Manimbahoi dapat memahami tentang pentingnya digital marketing sebagai upaya untuk memasarkan produk kopi Manimbahoi bukan hanya di daerah Kecamatan Parigi tetapi bisa ke kawasan Nasional. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berjalan lancar dan sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Hasil dari pengabdian ini, terlihat bahwa terjadi peningkatan kemampuan dan pengetahuan masyarakat desa dari tidak tahu menjadi tahu tentang digital marketing untuk pemasaran kopi.

Abstract

The purpose of community service activities at SMAN 1 Sindue Tobata is to improve the quality of learning by providing training on how to create ICT-based learning media and websites. Schools that are far from Palu city center face difficulties in using technology in the education process. The program successfully improved teachers' understanding and skills by providing training on the use of information and communication technology. The results of the data analysis showed that the components of technology understanding, learning media creation skills, and website management each received excellent ratings, with an average of 3.36, 3.67, and 3.89, respectively. The results show that SMAN 1 Sindue Tobata experienced an improvement in the quality of education thanks to the training.

Abstract

This training is in the form of training on creating digital learning materials using Heyzine at SMP Negeri 25 Barru. This training aims to equip teachers with the skills to create interactive and visually appealing learning resources. The training, held on August 22, 2024, used a workshop model consisting of two stages: theory sessions and practical sessions. The results showed significant improvement in teachers' ability to develop engaging and interactive materials, with increased confidence in using digital tools to support learning objectives. In addition, teachers gained insights into the use of technology to create meaningful educational experiences, and some teachers began to integrate Heyzine with other digital platforms such as Google Classroom. Overall, the training reflected a proactive approach to preparing educators for future educational challenges in an increasingly digitized world. Abstrak Pelatihan ini berupa pelatihan pembuatan materi pembelajaran digital menggunakan Heyzine di SMP Negeri 25 Barru. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk membekali para guru dengan keterampilan membuat sumber belajar yang interaktif dan menarik secara visual. Pelatihan yang diselenggarakan pada tanggal 22 Agustus 2024 ini menggunakan model lokakarya yang terdiri dari dua tahap: sesi teori dan sesi praktik. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan guru untuk mengembangkan materi yang menarik dan interaktif, dengan peningkatan kepercayaan diri dalam menggunakan alat digital untuk mendukung tujuan pembelajaran. Selain itu, para guru memperoleh wawasan tentang penggunaan teknologi untuk menciptakan pengalaman pendidikan yang bermakna, dan beberapa guru mulai mengintegrasikan Heyzine dengan platform digital lainnya seperti Google Classroom. Secara keseluruhan, pelatihan ini mencerminkan pendekatan proaktif untuk mempersiapkan para pendidik dalam menghadapi tantangan pendidikan di masa depan di dunia yang semakin terdigitalisasi.

Abstract

This study assesses the effectiveness of the BetaSutte forecasting model, an enhanced version of the α-Sutte Indicator, dubbed the Modified Trend-Augmented α-Sutte Indicator, in forecasting the stock prices of Bank Mandiri (BMRI). Data from investing.com, spanning January 2018 to December 2023, was divided into training and testing subsets to both develop and validate the forecasting model, ensuring it performs well across unseen data. BetaSutte builds on the foundational α-Sutte by integrating advanced trend analysis, mitigating the influence of outliers, and utilizing automatic parameter optimization to boost forecasting precision. The efficacy of BetaSutte is evaluated against well-established models such as SVR, XGBoost, and ARIMA. ARIMA was chosen for its detailed management of time-series data via autoregressive, differencing, and moving average components. In contrast, SVR and XGBoost are recognized for their strong predictive performance. The performance of these models was gauged using Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). These metrics shed light on the extent of forecasting errors and the percentage of relative errors, respectively, providing a comprehensive view of each model’s predictive accuracy for BMRI stock prices. The results demonstrated that BetaSutte outstripped the other models in terms of RMSE and MAPE, highlighting its enhanced ability to accurately reflect the dynamics of BMRI’s stock prices with greater precision and dependability. This establishes BetaSutte as a formidable tool in financial forecasting, particularly valuable in environments characterized by volatile market conditions and unpredictable data patterns.

Abstract

Program Kampung Bersih Nusantara merupakan salah satu inisiatif strategis dalam mendukung pembangunan berkelanjutan dan peningkatan kualitas lingkungan permukiman. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi permasalahan kebersihan lingkungan dan menyusun solusi berbasis partisipasi masyarakat melalui pendekatan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) di Kelurahan Pannampu, Kecamatan Tallo, Kota Makassar. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup observasi lapangan, pelibatan tokoh masyarakat dan warga setempat, serta pelaksanaan FGD sebagai sarana komunikasi partisipatif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa FGD mampu menjadi media efektif dalam menggalang komitmen warga, menggali aspirasi lokal, dan menyusun rencana aksi kampung bersih secara kolektif. Kegiatan ini juga menghasilkan peta masalah lingkungan dan rencana tindak lanjut yang disepakati bersama. Program ini diharapkan dapat direplikasi pada kelurahan lain dengan penyesuaian konteks sosial dan budaya lokal.

Abstract

Dari hasil tracer study alumni UNM didapatkan informasi bahwa terdapat beberapa alumni mengalami kesulitan dalam memasuki dunia kerja secara cepat karena keterbatasan pada aspek non-akademik seperti keterampilan interpersonal, komunikasi, manajemen waktu, kepedulian sosial, dan kemampuan bekerja dalam tim. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peningkatan kompetensi soft skills mahasiswa melalui keterlibatan dalam Proyek Kemanusiaan. Program ini dirancang untuk memberikan pengalaman belajar kontekstual melalui keterlibatan langsung mahasiswa dalam kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat di desa, yang diharapkan dapat memperkuat kemampuan non-akademik mereka, seperti kepedulian sosial, komunikasi, manajemen waktu, bekerja di bawah tekanan, toleransi, dan kemampuan bekerjasama lintas latar belakang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pretest-posttest terhadap 117 mahasiswa yang menjadi peserta Proyek Kemanusiaan. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner pengukuran 30 indikator kompetensi soft skills yang diisi sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan. Analisis statistik dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji beda berpasangan (paired sample t-test) setelah asumsi normalitas terpenuhi berdasarkan uji Kolmogorov-Smirnov. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada seluruh indikator kompetensi soft skills setelah mahasiswa mengikuti Proyek Kemanusiaan. Rata-rata skor kompetensi meningkat dari 111,10 menjadi 125,85, dengan nilai t sebesar -11,74 dan nilai signifikansi p < 0,05. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan mahasiswa dalam pengalaman berbasis proyek nyata berdampak positif terhadap penguatan kompetensi non-akademik yang dibutuhkan dalam dunia kerja. Dari temuan ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa Proyek Kemanusiaan merupakan sarana efektif dalam mengembangkan kompetensi soft skills mahasiswa secara holistik. Kegiatan semacam ini dapat dijadikan model pembelajaran alternatif yang mendukung kesiapan karir lulusan, khususnya dalam menghadapi tantangan kerja yang kompleks dan berbasis kolaborasi lintas disiplin dan budaya.

Abstract

An effective educational marketing strategy requires accurate school segmentation to enhance new student recruitment. Traditional segmentation methods such as K-means are often used, but they have limitations in capturing the flexibility of school characteristics. Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) offers a more adaptive approach by allowing each school to simultaneously have a degree of membership in several clusters. However, the performance of FCM highly depends on determining parameters such as the number of clusters (k) and the level of fuzziness (m), which are not always optimal when determined manually. This study develops a new framework for dynamic educational marketing segmentation in student recruitment by optimizing FCM using three metaheuristic techniques: Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and Differential Evolution (DE). Performance was evaluated using the Fuzzy Silhouette Index (FSI). The experimental results showed that DE yielded the best results with the highest FSI value (0.8023), producing eight main clusters based on the Recency, Frequency, and Monetary (RFM) model. Based on the clustering results, a personalized and adaptive marketing strategy was designed to enhance the effectiveness of student recruitment. The proposed framework enhances segmentation accuracy and supports the implementation of dynamic data-driven marketing in the context of higher education. This study also opens new directions for educational data mining research and machine-learning-based marketing strategies.
