Abstract

Many studies have been conducted in various countries exploring why people become school teachers. However, only some have explored why someone becomes an Islamic boarding school teacher. This article explores why someone is becoming a teacher at an Islamic boarding school. This case study research was conducted by interviewing teachers at the Nurul Ummah Islamic Boarding School in Yogyakarta. A total of 8 teachers shared their experiences while being teachers at the Islamic boarding school. The research results show that teachers teaching at Islamic boarding schools are motivated to serve and "ngalap berkah." Serving has become a tradition for students who have completed their studies at Islamic boarding schools as a form of reciprocation of a student's gratitude to the Islamic boarding school and its Kyai. Ngalap berkah is believed to be a guarantee from the Kyai for the blessings of knowledge obtained by the students who become teachers at the Islamic boarding school.

Abstract

Arabic learning at Madrasah Aliyah specifically aims to equip students with Arabic language competencies to be able to participate in global communication. Therefore, a learning model and its supporting components are needed that can encourage the achievement of these competencies for each student after participating in Arabic language learning. The scope of this research includes: (a) the application of interactional intelligence-based learning models for students of class XI Religious Sciences at MAN 1 Bandar Lampung in the even semester of the 2017/2018 academic year, (b) the effectiveness of the learning model in improving students' Arabic competence. This study uses a true experimental design by focusing on pretest-posttest control group design activities for the experimental class (given treatment) and control (not given treatment). The result shows that the application of the interactional intelligence-based learning model is convenient and has a significant influence in improving students' Arabic competence.

Abstract

AbstrakMuhammadiyah, sebagai salah satu organisasi Islam modern terbesar di Indonesia, menghadapi tantangan signifikan dalam hal kaderisasi mubaligh. Indikasi krisis ini terlihat dari minimnya jumlah kader mubaligh, terutama di tingkat akar rumput. Hal ini diperparah oleh beberapa faktor, seperti kurangnya pesantren tradisional yang menekankan penguasaan kitab kuning, kecenderungan dakwah yang elitis dan kurang membumi, serta orientasi organisasi yang lebih terfokus pada pengelolaan amal usaha. Fenomena ini menjadi ironi bagi Muhammadiyah, yang memiliki misi utama sebagai gerakan dakwah Islam.Dalam konteks lokal, situasi ini tercermin di Fakultas Agama Islam (FAI) Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro. Mahasiswa FAI, yang seharusnya menjadi calon mubaligh, masih banyak yang belum memiliki pengalaman praktik khutbah Jumat. Padahal, khutbah Jumat merupakan keterampilan fundamental yang wajib dimiliki oleh lulusan FAI. Kondisi khutbah Jumat saat ini cenderung formalistik, kurang menarik, dan tidak efektif dalam menyampaikan pesan dakwah kepada jamaah. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, diperlukan terobosan melalui pendekatan inovatif.Program pengabdian masyarakat yang diajukan bertujuan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan mahasiswa FAI dalam praktik khutbah Jumat berbasis multimedia. Pendekatan ini memanfaatkan teknologi audio-visual untuk meningkatkan daya tarik khutbah, sekaligus memastikan pesan dakwah dapat diterima secara efektif oleh jama’ah. Program ini mencakup pelatihan teori khutbah, simulasi menggunakan perangkat multimedia, serta evaluasi performa mahasiswa melalui rekaman video.Penggunaan multimedia dalam khutbah Jumat diharapkan dapat meningkatkan perhatian jamaah terhadap pesan yang disampaikan, tanpa mengabaikan syarat dan rukun khutbah sesuai ketentuan fiqih. Dengan pendekatan ini, program tersebut tidak hanya bertujuan mengatasi krisis mubaligh di Muhammadiyah, tetapi juga membekali mahasiswa FAI dengan keterampilan yang relevan dalam dakwah modern. Program ini juga berkontribusi pada revitalisasi peran Muhammadiyah sebagai gerakan dakwah yang inovatif dan adaptif terhadap perkembangan zaman. Kata Kunci: Khutbah Jumat, Mahasiswa Baru, Keterampilan Praktik, Multimedia, FAI UM Metro

Abstract

The problem is the result of the interaction between man and his environment. The problem has also become a part of the learning process of human beings to acquire knowledge and experience that is a notch better than ever. In addition, the problem became a matter of learning which occurs naturally through the daily live and that is formed through a mutual agreement for the themes of learning in learning and teaching activities. Problem based learning is a learning model that provides aspect of realistic problems that occur in life. On the other hand, a problem that is presented by form of contextualization learning materials are taught a process of discussion groups with interactive dialogue method. Furthermore, in the context of learning a foreign language, Arabic lesson also have relation problems realistically that can be seen through the Arabic proficiency such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing or knowledge of Arabic grammar is often studied and used to analyse and understand the Arabic books.

Abstract

This study aims to elucidate the implementation and implications of the Arabic language curriculum for students at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 in Metro Lampung City. The study examines the application of the curriculum and the outcomes it yields for students. The study utilized a descriptive qualitative approach for research and collected data through interviews and analyzing MAN 1 Arabic curriculum documents in Metro City. The implementation of the Arabic language curriculum during the reform era, from KBK and KTSP to the 2013 Curriculum, has affected students' Arabic language proficiency. The findings indicate that the Arabic language curriculum's execution aligns with academic conventions and supports student learning. The study reveals that the implementation of the Arabic language curriculum runs smoothly in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Metro City. The teacher regularly evaluates students through questions on the categorization of Arabic words - isim, fi'il, and letters- and their associated divisions and characteristics. As part of this process, students must memorize and comprehend 200-300 vocabularies and engage in spoken communication in Arabic. The teacher serves as a facilitator and guide to aid students in learning the language. The new curriculum's implications for teaching and learning activities are relevant, although objective evaluations are required. Students can learn independently and think critically, enhancing their linguistic abilities. The field provides substantial opportunities for students to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the Arabic language.
