Abstract

The emergence of entrepreneurial groups from university students and alumni can trigger the nation's economic advancement. This study investigated the impact of project-based learning (PJBL) models in enhancing students' business management abilities, integrating components such as resource management, financial-administrative structuring, production, marketing, and business development planning. The research aimed to analyze the most effective teaching methods for business education students to improve learning outcomes in business management skills. The research design adopted a pre-post test format with three phases: treatment phase, test phase, and data analysis phase. The data analysis techniques used included Spearman and Kendall's correlation, Friedman, Kendall's W, Kruskal-Wallis, U test, and Wilcoxon test. The results indicated a significant difference, p0.05, between treatments. Based on the mean rank, the PJBL treatment had the highest mean rank value (3.77; 3.77; 110.40), followed by the problem-based learning (PBL) treatment (2.94; 2.94; 87.14), problem-solving (PS) treatment (1.83; 1.83; 50.67), and finally the traditional learning (TL) treatment (1.46; 1.46; 33.79). This research serves as a recommendation policymaker, educators, students, and any individual aiming to enhance business management skills consider PJBL as a primary treatment or PBL and PS as alternative options.

Abstract

Sustainable tourism has emerged as a paradigm for reconciling the economic benefits of tourism with the need to protect the environment and preserve cultural heritage. This study was aimed to evaluate the economic philosophies underpinning sustainable tourism development in Indonesia. This research employed a qualitative research methodology. Data was collected through a comprehensive literature review encompassing academic journals, books, government reports, and non-governmental organization (NGO) publications. The collected data was then analyzed using thematic analysis to identify key themes and patterns related to economic philosophies and sustainable tourism practices in Indonesia. The findings reveal a dominant focus on neoliberal economic principles in Indonesian tourism, prioritizing economic growth and foreign investment. However, this approach has led to several negative consequences, including environmental degradation, social inequalities, and cultural commodification. Alternative economic philosophies, such as community-based tourism and degrowth, offer more sustainable and equitable pathways for tourism development. In conclusion, a paradigm shift is necessary to achieve sustainable tourism development in Indonesia. Moving away from a purely neoliberal framework and embracing alternative economic models that prioritize community well-being, environmental protection, and cultural preservation is crucial. This shift requires a collaborative effort from government, industry, and local communities.

Abstract

The progression of technology could lead to online risks, such as accidental exposure to harmful content by undergraduates. Investigating how this exposure affects their mental health, particularly academic stress, and in turn, their academic performance, is critically important. This study aims to examine the impact and predictability of online risks on undergraduates’ academic stress and performance, using logistic regression as the main method of analysis. The findings show that online risks have a significant effect on academic stress (p<0.05), but there is no significant impact on academic performance (p>0.05). Students who frequently encounter scam or bullying content are 2.317 and 2.400 times more likely, respectively, to suffer from academic stress compared to those who encounter it less. Additionally, demographic factors, especially gender, are significant (p<0.05) in terms of academic stress and performance. The analysis predicts that females are 4.210 times more likely to experience academic stress than males, while males are 2.768 times (in model 4) and 2.601 times (model 5) more likely to achieve cum laude honors than females. This research provides valuable insights for academic policy makers to improve education quality and offers a basis for further studies in this area.

Abstract

The Class IIA Women's Correctional Institution (LPP) in Malang City is included in a productive prison which is not only used as a place for fostering prisoners (inmates), but also used as a facility to accommodate the production of quality prisoner products. The WBP participates in productive program activities held by the prison, such as managing the soy sauce industry, handicrafts, convection business, salon business, making ecoprint batik, production of souvenir snacks. All WBPs are involved in these productive activities as a form of effort by the prison in organizing work guidance programs and skills education. The results of the activity show that the production of Malang City Class IIA Women's Prison can be said to be quite good and has selling value. However, it is unfortunate that marketing is done conventionally so that it has not achieved maximum product sales results. Therefore, it is necessary to have an evaluation that can be solved through the service activities carried out. This digital marketing practice activity with website development training can be a solution provided through this service. The activity can run smoothly because all prison officers are enthusiastic and conducive in participating in the training held. The hope of this activity is that they will be able to apply the marketing function optimally so that it can increase sales volume

Abstract

This research investigates how a mobile-based archive application and digital literacy impact pre-service administrators' understanding of the smart village concept in rural governance. It uses a quantitative approach with a questionnaire given to 100 pre-service administrators to evaluate their attitudes towards these factors. Validity and reliability tests were conducted as part of the data analysis, and the data were assessed for normality assumption. The data were then analyzed using a multiple linear regression model. The coefficient of determination, which is 99.3%, suggests that nearly all variables related to the smart village concept can be explained through the archive application and digital literacy variables. Furthermore, the mobile-based archive application and digital literacy have a positive and significant impact on understanding the smart village concept, both simultaneously (0.0000.05) and partially (0.0000.05). We found a negative t value (-5.739) for the understanding of the smart village concept, which can be improved through the mobile-based archive application (9.299) and digital literacy (6.538) variables. The implications from these findings indicate that pre-service administrators in rural governance recognize the need for improvement in their understanding of the smart village concept.
