Abstract

Abstract

The mangrove ecosystem contributes to climate change mitigation by absorbing carbon dioxide gas. The shoreline of Negeri Waai, Central Maluku Regency (CMR), becomes one of Indonesia's promising mangrove ecosystem habitats for carbon absorption. Therefore, this research aimed to assess the blue carbon potential of mangroves on the coast of Negeri Waai, CMR. This research collected data using the quadrant transect method (10 x 10 m) and placed randomly in 65 quadrants. The analysis of blue carbon potential used an allometric approach to above and below-ground biomass (AGB and BGB). The results showed that the total blue carbon mangrove stock on the coast of Negeri Waai was 73.22 ton C/ha, consisting of 49.44 tons C/ha above-ground carbon (AGC) and 23.78 tons C/ha below-ground carbon (BGC). Sonneratia alba contributed the most extensive carbon stock, namely 70.69 ton C/ha, consisting of 47.53 tons C/ha AGC and 23.16 tons C/ha BGC. This result was relatively low compared to the global average of blue carbon in mangroves, 134 ton C/ha. Based on this result, efforts were needed to restore the mangrove ecosystem, increase the potential for carbon absorption, and mitigate climate change.

Abstract

This study aims to produce teaching materials oriented to Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) that can improve the Construction Explanation and Designing Solutions (CEDs) skills of elementary school teacher candidates. This study uses the development research method (RnD) adapted from Borg & Gall. The 10 Borg&Gall development procedures were then modified into 8 stages which were adapted to the conditions in the field. The results of the study show that NGSS-oriented teaching materials are appropriate for use in learning with valid, practical, and effective criteria. The validation results obtained from the average value of the teaching material expert validator and learning media show that the teaching material is considered valid both in terms of construct and content. The results of observing the activity of lecturers and students increasing at each meeting indicate that practical teaching materials are applied in learning, as well as the results of student CEDs skills tests indicating that teaching materials are effective for improving the CEDs skills of prospective teacher students. The implication of this research is that the use of appropriate methods can affect the achievement of CEDs ability of prospective teachers to be able to present various alternative solutions to problems. The suggestions for further research are to develop NGSS-oriented teaching materials for elementary school students.

Abstract

The corona virus which is endemic in all parts of the world, including Indonesia, has not only left a negative impact but also brought people into good habits. One of them is increasing concern for the cleanliness of the air inside and outside the place of activity. The location of the GIDI Efata Kotaraja building is located in a densely populated residential area and busy traffic causes the surrounding air to become very hot and dusty. Green plants or trees that can block dust arising from household activities and motorized vehicles are very lacking in the church yard. By looking at the surrounding environmental conditions which do not support clean air circulation, there is great concern that the air circulation in the church room will become unhealthy. Air purifier as air cleaning devices are very unaffordable. Just installing an Air Conditioner (AC) is also not enough to guarantee that the air is free from pollutants. Dust with very small particle sizes, CO2 gas and CO gas and other gases can threaten the health of congregation members. It is for this reason that this service activity has been carried out. An innovative, environmentally friendly and economical solution is needed to create good air by planting the ornamental plants Mother-in-law's Tongue, Paris Lilies and Gading Siri which have been proven to be able to absorb pollutants. The aim of this service activity is to create Green Open Space by providing outreach regarding air pollution, types of pollutants and their impact on health, providing information and knowledge related to innovative research on air cleaning plants, providing assistance in planting air cleaning plants, planting methods and techniques care for the young GIDI group of the Efata Kotaraja Congregation. The method used in this service activity is the 3P method (Counseling, Guidance and Mentoring). The result of this activity is an innovative product in the form of a park as a green open space. The conclusion that the youth have experienced an increase in knowledge and are able to realize the creation of green open space and have a culture of loving the environment.

Abstract

This study was conducted in the context of character development among students at SDIT Al-Mughni Jakarta through the Pesantren Ramadhan (Sanram) and Basic Student Leadership Training (LDKS) programs. This study aimed to analyse Sanram and LDKS's influence on students' character formation. The research method was a quantitative survey, collecting data through questionnaires distributed to sixth-grade students participating in both programs. The results showed that Sanram had a more dominant influence, with a regression coefficient of 0.445, compared to LDKS, which had a regression coefficient of 0.372. Nonetheless, combining both programs provided a more optimal contribution to students' character development. The conclusion of this study highlights the importance of integrating religious programs and leadership training into the character education curriculum in schools. These findings underscore the need for a more holistic approach to designing educational strategies for effective character development. Suggestions for future research include a deeper evaluation of the effectiveness of integrating these two programs and consideration of individual internal factors and the influence of family and social environments.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to see the factors that have the most influence on student GPA such as learning at home, the quality of teaching on campus, and the organisations they join. This study uses a type of quantitative research with a descriptive approach, with multiple regression analysis. The classical assumption test passed the test. Result: The variable number of organisations followed, the amount of campus teaching, and the amount of study at home together contributed 69.2% to the student's cumulative grade point average, the remaining 30.8% was influenced by other factors outside the model. The three independent variables simultaneously have a significant effect on the cumulative grade point average based on the F test. In the t test, the variables of learning at home and teaching on campus play a positive and significant role in improving student academic achievement as measured by GPA, while the number of organisations followed has no significant effect with a negative relationship.

Abstract

Digital financial transactions in Indonesia continue to show an increasing trend from year to year, with a sharp increase in the last 3 years. Observing the accelerated implementation of the development of non-cash transactions and to improve the payment system, Bank Indonesia launched the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) on 17 August 2019 which then as of 1 January 2020 requires all non-cash payments to use QRIS. QRIS is a QR Code standard created by Bank Indonesia to facilitate digital payments through server-based electronic money applications, electronic wallets, and mobile banking. Standardization is carried out so that transactions with QR Codes are made easier, faster, and safer because digital transactions can be monitored by regulators through one platform.
