Abstract

The formation of leadership character with integrity and competence is a primary demand in nursing education. The intra-campus cadreization process managed through POAC functions (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) is expected to be an effective vehicle for shaping such character. However, academic constraints and execution inconsistencies often pose challenges. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the intra-campus cadreization management process and the formation of nursing student leadership character. This study employed a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 120 nursing students from the class of 2024, selected using total sampling technique. The instruments used were valid and reliable questionnaires on cadreization management and leadership character. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate Spearman Rank tests. The results showed that the cadreization management process was perceived as effective by the majority of respondents (61.7%), and student leadership character was in the strong category (61.7%), with Moral Feeling as the highest aspect. Statistical tests revealed a significant positive relationship between cadreization management and leadership character (p-value = 0.001), although the correlation strength was weak (r = 0.394). Dimensional analysis indicated that Organizing had the strongest relationship, while Controlling had the weakest. In conclusion, cadreization management contributes positively to leadership character formation but is not the sole determinant factor. It is recommended that student organizations prioritize empowering organizing approaches over strict controlling to optimize character building.

Abstract

Introduction: Burnout among nurses remains a major challenge in healthcare systems worldwide, particularly in inpatient settings with high workload demands such as surgical wards. Managerial support plays an important role in shaping the work environment, including the provision of adequate facilities that enable nurses to perform their duties effectively. Insufficient facilities may increase work strain and contribute to burnout. Objective: This study aimed to examine the relationship between managerial support in facility provision and burnout among nurses working in surgical inpatient wards. Method: A quantitative correlational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted among nurses in surgical inpatient wards at a public hospital. Total sampling was applied, involving 33 nurses who met the inclusion criteria. Data were collected using a managerial support in facility provision questionnaire and the Maslach Burnout Inventory. The instruments demonstrated acceptable validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman correlation analysis. Result: The findings showed that most nurses perceived managerial support in facility provision at moderate to high levels, while burnout levels among nurses were predominantly moderate to high. Spearman correlation analysis indicated that there was no significant relationship between managerial support in facility provision and burnout (p > 0.05). Conclusion: Managerial support in providing adequate facilities is significantly associated with burnout among nurses in surgical inpatient wards. Enhancing managerial support for facility provision may contribute to reduced burnout and improved nurse well-being and performance.

Abstract

Natural disasters are natural phenomena that directly or indirectly disrupt human life and can occur at any time. Therefore, community preparedness is necessary to face disasters, considering that most Indonesians live in disaster-prone areas. As part of the Disaster Resilient Village Program, the Village Disaster Risk Reduction Forum (FPRB) functions to advocate, coordinate, and implement collaborative disaster risk reduction efforts at the village level. The goal is to ensure disaster risk reduction-based development, increase community resilience, and disaster preparedness. FPRB must have the ability to recognize threats in their area, be able to organize resources to reduce vulnerability and increase capacity to reduce disaster risk, and achieve disaster preparedness. Therefore, there is a need for mentoring and capacity building in preparing communities, particularly in terms of strategies, knowledge, and skills, as part of disaster preparedness. The application of this community service program aims to provide training and mentoring for members of the village disaster risk reduction forum, including the preparation of disaster risk assessments, emergency response plans, contingency plans, and basic life support. This service was attended by members of the village disaster risk reduction forum and village government officials, which was held from April to October 2025. The external targets in this study are the disaster management plan documents in the village, which include disaster risk assessments, emergency response plans, standard operating procedures, and post-disaster contingency plans and the skills of the FPRB members in providing first aid to disaster victims.
