Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects extract of Kenikir in male rats parameters blood glucose, cholesterol and histopathological of the pancreas. Thirty rats were divided into six groups, and each group consists of five individuals with the details of groups I, II, and III as control groups and groups IV, V, and VI for the experiments. Group I: normal control was given NaCMC 0,5%; Group II: control negative was given Streptozotocin 30 mg/kgBW i.p, high feed fat 25 g/day, and the positive control was given met form in 45 mg/kgBW, and the experimental groups were each given extract of the kenikir leaves with dose 100 mg/kg BW, 200 mg/kgBW , and 400 mg/kg BW. The results showed that there were secondary metabolites contained in the extract of leaves of kenikir. Giving the extract of kenikir leaves at the dose of 200 mg/kg is effective in lowering the blood glucose levels, extract of leaves of kenikir with the dose of 400 mg/kg is effective to reduce the total cholesterol levels and regenerate pancreatic tissue, and extract of leaves of kenikir with the dose of 100 mg/kg BW did not give any maximum impacts to decrease the blood glucose. Abstract

Sasar penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui dosis terbaik untuk histologi pankreas dan metabolits sekunders pada konsentrat etanolik daun pepaya (Carica papaya L). Penelitian ini merupakan percobaan laboratorium dengan 30 ekor tikus sebagai hewan uji. Hewan uji di bagi menjadi enam kelompok perlakuan masing-masing lima ekor tikus. Suspensi Na-CMC diberikan pada kelompok 2 (control negatif), glibenklamid diberikan pada kelompok 3 (control positif), dan 100, 200, dan 300mg/kgBB konsentrat etanol daun pepaya (Carica papaya L) diberikan pada kelompok 4, 5, dan 6. Konsentrat etanol daun pepaya mengandung senyawa metabolits sekunders antara lain alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, dan tanins, sesuai temuan. Pepaya Etanol daun pepaya secara bermakna mempengaruhi gambaran histopatologi pankreas, Etanol daun pepaya terpisah pada porsi 300mg/kgBB merupakan bagian yang mempengaruhi gambaran histopatologi pankreas dengan skor tipikal 1,2.

Abstract

Tanaman binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) merupakan salah satu tumbuhan herbal yang memiliki khasiat sebagai tanaman bahan obat yang digunakan untuk berbagai penyakit sepeti kerusakan hati, diabetes, jantung, tekanan darah tinggi, muntah darah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kadar metabolit sekunder dengan spektrofotometri UV-Vis dan uji antioksidan  serta aktivitas hepatoprotektif daun binahong. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah spektrofotometri UV-Vis dan DPPH serta uji lanjut Kruskal-Wallis dan uji ManWhitney terhadap hepar tikus diabetes melitus. Hasil analisis kualitatif Ekstrak Daun binahong mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder seperti Alkaloid, Flavonoid, Saponin dan Tanin. Pada Uji kuantitatif diperoleh kadar total untuk flavonoid adalah 0,2433% b/b, saponin 0,1631% b/b, tanin 0,2512% b/b dan alkaloid 0,0350% b/b dan aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etanol daun binahong diperoleh hasil berdasarkan nilai IC50 sebesar 61,9 ppm termasuk dalam kategori antioksidan kuat. Pada histopatologi hewan uji diinduksi dengan streptozotocin dan diberikan perlakuan masing-masing kelompok kontrol normal yang tidak diinduksi, kontrol negatif Na CMC 0,5%, kontrol positif  Metformin, kelompok uji yang diberikan ekstrak masing-masing dengan dosis 25, 50 dan 100 mg/kg BB. Pada penelitian ini ekstrak daun binahong  memiliki aktivitas sebagai hepatoprotektor pada dosis 100 mg/BB tikus diabetes melitus.
