Abstract

This study aims to find out how to build a web-based assignment information system by applying Leaderboard and Quest gamification elements at SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta TKJ Expertise Program and determine the eligibility level developed according to ISO 25010 Standards. Information system development using the Laravel web application framework. Development is carried out using the agile development software development model consisting of 5 stages, namely planning to produce functional and non-functional requirements. The research applies the Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) method in the analysis and design process. Analysis produces use case diagrams, Design produces activity diagrams and class diagrams. Implementation produces program code from development results. The system produces products uploaded to the server, which can later be accessed online and in real time. This information system has three levels of users, namely admin, teachers and students. The suitability test results using the ISO 25010 Standard on the three sub-characteristics of functional suitability, namely functional completeness, have an average value of 1 (Good). Functional correctness has an average value of 1 (Good). Functional appropriateness has an average value of 1 (Good). Characteristics of performance efficiency obtained an average result of GTMatrix Grade 85% (grade B). The average largest contentful paint is 1.423s (OK, but considering improvement). Average total blocking time 97.82ms (Good - nothing to do here). Average cumulative layout shift 0.023 (Longer than recommended). Portability characteristics have excellent results in that the system can run on desktop or mobile devices. Usability characteristics of 85% (Very Decent). The results of the respondent gamification test average score of 4.44 indicate that respondents are categorized as strongly agreeing with the existence of a web-based assignment information system by applying leaderboard and quest gamification elements. From the results of these tests, it can be concluded that the web-based assignment information system, using Leaderboard and Quest gamification elements at SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta TKJ Expertise Program, meets ISO 25010 quality standards.

Abstract

This study intend to (1) determine the suitability of the components of online learning media for network and computer security to suitability with the ethical hacking process, (2)conduct a comprehensive review of cyber security learning media. This research is a qualitative research with a grounded theory research approach. The data sources of this study include Capture The Flag websites, ethical hacking aspects and gamification aspects. Sampling techniques are carried out using application search strategies based on certain keywords in accordance with the relevance of online applications of cyber security learning media. Data analysis in this study uses qualitative data analysis, as for data analysis techniques that are adjusted to the stages in the study (Perry, Lunde, and Chen 2016). The first thing that is done is to search for research data sources using predetermined keywords. Filtering is carried out on search results so that search results are unique and duplication does not occur. Filtering is carried out to find inappropriate online applications, then removed from the list. Scoring of data that is in accordance with the ethical hacking aspects and gamification aspects. Second, the obstacle experienced in the research process is that there are several obstacles that cannot be accessed due to closed access or developers who do not update the CTF-based cyber security website so that it cannot be run. Third, the maker or owner or developer of this CTF-based cyber security website needs to consider the gamification side in the creation and preparation of this CTF-based cyber security website. This is necessary to increase the interest of participants with the presence of gamification aspects that are implemented

Abstract

Several schools in big cities in Timor-Leste already have computers connected to the Internet; these computers are used for school administration and the learning process to facilitate the process of communication and data exchange; each computer must be connected to a wired or wireless network. With a sufficient internet network, I hope students can increase their interest in learning. In this regard, this study aims to explain the positive and negative effects of the Internet on high school students' learning interest in Timor Leste. This research uses a quantitative method, which will be filled with numbers and statistics that will then be described descriptively. Based on the results of this study it is supported by data and analysis of significant conditions, which means that the Internet used is what is expected of the learning interests of high school students in Timor-Leste. Based on the SPSS version 25 data processing test on F count, the results were obtained so that the internet variable (X1) simultaneously had a simultaneous impact on learning interest (Y) for high school students in Timor-Leste with an F test score of 17.614 and a significant level of 0.000. And sourced from the test of the coefficient of determination that the Internet (X1) has on the learning interest of high school students in Timor-Leste. The summary model value of R2 is 0.317.

Abstract

Dunia pendidikan sangat penting untuk mengembangkan sumber daya manusia dengan pemahaman tentang cara menggunakan teknologi, kemampuan menciptakan inovasi baru, dan kapasitas pemikiran kritis untuk memecahkan masalah. Salah satu kemampuan yang harus dimiliki menurut Partnership for 21st Century Learning adalah berpikir kritis. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sedangkan desain yang digunakan yaitu quasi experimental design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan critical thinking siswa pada mata pelajaran Informatika menggunakan model Learning Cycle Blended Learning. Nilai n gain di kelas eksperimen adalah 0,58 dengan kategori sedang, serta pada kelas kontrol nilai n gain 0,37 dengan kategori sedang. Apabila dibandingkan melalui n gain score, maka penggunaan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle Blended Leanrning lebih efektif digunakan. Maka terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle Blended Learning berbantuan dengan moodle. Pembelajaran dapat berorientasi kepada siswa karena siswa dapat menjawab pertanyaan pertanyaan yang diberikan oleh guru. Siswa lebih bersikap aktif dan kreatif dalam diskusi maupun mandiri sesuai dengan indikator indikator berpikir kritis.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate website based information systems that have been developed previously using ISO/IEC 9126 Standards and GTMetrix. Testing of website based information systems using ISO/IEC 9126 is carried out by  information system expert,  users, and testing using GTMetrix, the user referred to in the test these are administrators, teachers, and student parents. Testing of information system experts takes four measures of quality including functionality, reliability, usability, and portability, while testing on users takes three measures including functionality, usability, and portability, and testing using GTMetrix takes a measure of quality efficiency and serves to assess the performance of the website-based information system developed. The results obtained from the  evaluation were testing of  information system expert getting a score of 91.17%, administrator user getting a score of 95.11%, teacher user getting a score of 91.35%, student parents getting a score of 83.4%, and testing using  GTMetrix getting a score of 86.13% or Grade B. Based on the results of the evaluation using ISO/IEC 9126, it was found that the testing using  ISO/IEC 9126 for the tested website-based information system has been meet the expectations of users, especially parents and the school.

Abstract

This community service program aims to create awareness of the plastic pollution challenge by empowering the local communities around Sekolah Alam Solo Raya (SELASAR). The program is part of a problem-based learning approach implemented to support community-based education in SELASAR. SELASAR’s students are expected to educate the communities in sorting the general waste and separating out items that can be recycled. The educational kit of a simple recycling machine will be developed in UNS and then installed in Sekolah Alam Solo Raya for educational purposes. The communities will take an educational tour through plastic recycling, from sorting to final production. The objective of the educational tour is to raise awareness of waste reduction and provide practical tips on how to create a more sustainable environment. It is also expected that students could create well-designed products that have more commercial value.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini ditujukan untuk meningkatkan pembelajaran STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) di sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Klaten melalui konsep engineering design dan eksperimen. STEM diarahkan sebagai pembelajaran terintegrasi antara beberapa bidang ilmu, terutama terkait matematika, sains (fisika, kimia, biologi dan ilmu lingkungan) serta IT (Information Technology). Pembelajaran dilakukan dengan mengenalkan beberapa teknologi yang menggunakan sumber energi angin. Kegiatan engineering design process dilakukan melalui modul dan kegiatan pembelajaran melalui: (1) memahami konteks permasalahan; (2) melakukan eksplorasi mengenai bentuk dan jenis turbin yang mampu menangkap energi angin; dan (3) melakukan eksperimen turbin angin. Modul pembelajaran dibuat tim pengabdi bersama guru. Guru memberikan pendampingan kepada peserta didik selama pelaksanaan kegiatan. Peserta didik didorong untuk menggunakan kemampuan STEM dalam eksperimen turbin angin. Pada akhir kegiatan diharapkan diperoleh luaran berupa modul pembelajaran yang mengintegrasikan pendidikan berbasis lingkungan hidup pada pembelajaran STEM

Abstract

This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to explore the essence of classroom culture in shaping the profile of Pancasila learners in class XI PPLG at one of the state vocational schools in Surakarta. Through participatory observation and in-depth interviews, teachers have been shown to play a central role in integrating national values, such as the habit of praying, giving advice, and creating a learning environment that supports learners' social development. Practices such as cooperation activities, group sharing for presentations, and giving learners the freedom to be independent became an integral part of the classroom culture. The results show positive developments in learners' tolerance towards different religions and opinions. The conclusion of the study confirms the importance of a deep understanding of classroom culture as the main key to creating quality education, which not only transfers knowledge but also shapes learners' characters into a generation with intelligence, character, and personality.

Abstract

The development of the world of education in Indonesia has adapted to the global dynamics and demands of the evolving world of work. Emotional intelligence, which includes self-awareness, emotional control, self-motivation, empathy, and collaborative skills, is recognized as the key to preparing younger generations for the complexities of the globalization era. This research focuses on the High School of Teaching (SMK) in Surakarta, Indonesia, where emotional intelligence becomes a crucial aspect, in addition to technical expertise. Daniel Goleman suggests that individual success is more influenced by emotional intelligence than intellectual intelligence. This research uses qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach with data collection performed by observation and interview. Participants were selected purposely for sampling because they had a deep understanding or experience of the subject being studied, namely students of the XI RPL class. The results of the study on the development of emotional intelligence of SMK students showed the role of teachers in helping students develop self-awareness and manage emotions effectively. Students showed improvements in the aspects of self-awareness, emotional control, self-motivation, empathy, and collaboration during learning. The teacher's role as a facilitator and mentor became crucial in creating a positive learning environment. Teachers not only provide lessons but also guide students in facing challenges and conflicts wisely.

Abstract

Project-based learning (PjBL) is one of the learning models that can optimize students' learning styles. PjBL provides students with the opportunity to learn actively, independently, and creatively. This study aims to analyze the effect of the PjBL learning model on the learning styles of PPLG SMK Negeri students in Surakarta. This study used a quantitative method with an experimental approach. The research sample was 36 XI grade PPLG SMK Negeri students in Surakarta. This study used the Felder-Silverman learning style instrument to measure students' learning styles. The results of the study showed that the PjBL learning model had a positive effect on students' learning styles. Students who followed PjBL learning were more likely to have kinesthetic, visual, and auditory learning styles. This is because PjBL provides students with the opportunity to learn actively through activities that involve body movement, vision, and hearing. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that the PjBL learning model can be applied more widely in schools, especially in SMK which have students with various learning styles.
