Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of integrating the Iceberg Analysis and the U-Process as a pedagogical framework to promote religious moderation in a multifaith Indonesian secondary school. Given the rising concern over religious intolerance and youth vulnerability to radical ideologies in pluralistic societies, the study addresses the urgent need for reflective and participatory learning approaches that can transform attitudes and behaviours. Employing a mixed-methods design, the research involved 100 students of different religious and ethnic backgrounds at SMA Negeri 1 Barus Jahe, North Sumatra. Data were collected through pre-tests, post-tests, questionnaires, classroom observations, and student reflections. Thematic and statistical analyses revealed significant improvements in students’ understanding, awareness, and enactment of religious moderation values, with average cognitive scores increasing from 55 to 81.5 and behavioural awareness from 48.75 to 78.25. These findings suggest that integrating the Iceberg Analysis and U-Process facilitates cognitive development and deep emotional and ethical internalisation of interfaith values. The study contributes to religious education by proposing a culturally contextualised and empirically validated model that bridges conceptual understanding and real-world practice. Its originality lies in synthesising two transformative learning approaches into a unified pedagogical strategy tailored for pluralistic and multicultural settings, with practical implications for curriculum design, teacher training, and interfaith peacebuilding.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance the entrepreneurial skills of students at SMA RK 2 Kabanjahe by providing training in the production of fabric softeners and dishwashing liquid. The project-based learning (PBL) method allowed students to be directly involved in every phase of the production process, from planning to evaluation. A total of 100 students from grades X, XI, and XII participated in this activity, with an implementation method that included planning, preparation, execution, practice, and evaluation. The results of the pre-test and post-test showed significant improvements in students' knowledge and skills. Knowledge about dishwashing liquid increased by 60%, knowledge about fabric softeners by 67%, and practical skills increased by 112%. Although the production process went well, there were issues related to time management, marketing, and product distribution. To maximize students' ability to run their businesses, additional training in business management and marketing strategies is needed. Overall, this activity successfully fostered students' initiative and practical skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the project of Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students (P5), the role of teachers in improving P5, and the characters developed in P5 implemented by PPG-STPKat students of St. Francis Asisi Semarang. The mixed method research design was used. The probability sampling technique was used to select 14 schools for the research population. Quantitative data was collected through questionnaires assessing the implementation of the P5 project and the role of teachers and analyzed using ANOVA Linearity, Linear Regression, and the F Test. Interviews were used to collect qualitative data, which was then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the simultaneous implementation of the P5 project and the role of the teacher had a high effect on student character building (99.1%). The linearity test revealed a linear relationship between P5 project implementation and learner character, with a significance value (p) of 0.000 0.05. P5 has been implemented in elementary schools, and teachers serve as role models, motivators, inspirers, and evaluators, according to qualitative findings. Students' Pancasila character profile depicts a character of faith, piety to God Almighty, and noble character. Positive aspects of mutual cooperation included improved collaboration skills and various aspects of mutual cooperation. This study's recommendations include increasing the number of meeting hours, involving a team of facilitators, and ensuring school readiness. Students must be encouraged to participate actively in the P5 project and to develop the Pancasila learner profile attitude.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of job satisfaction and work motivation on organizational commitment among Catholic Religious Education teachers in Indonesia. Despite extensive research on organizational commitment, few studies have examined these relationships in faith-based educational contexts. Using a quantitative approach with path analysis, the study involved 208 teachers selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using validated Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using IBM SPSS. The findings reveal that job satisfaction and work motivation have a positive and significant influence on teachers' organizational commitment, both individually and simultaneously, accounting for 64.2% of the variance. Teachers who experience supportive working conditions, fair recognition, and strong intrinsic motivation tend to demonstrate higher emotional attachment, loyalty, and dedication to their schools. These findings highlight the importance of leadership strategies that enhance both satisfaction and motivation to sustain long-term teacher commitment in faith-based educational institutions.
