Abstract

Consumption of fruits and vegetables is one of the components in fulfilling balanced nutrition. Consumption of fruits and vegetables of the Indonesian population is still low, especially in school-age children or teenagers. This study aimed to analyze the effect of nutrition education with the normal lecturer and audiovisual media on knowledge and consumption pattern of fruit and vegetable of junior high school students. This research used a quasi-experimental design pretest-posttest one control group design in class VII SMPN 246 January-February 2017. Targets were selected through screening then selected who have an average of at least fruit and vegetable consumption. There were 2 groups in this study, lecture group and video combination lecture group, consisting of 36 subjects. Knowledge and consumption data of fruits were measured before and after the intervention. The intervention was carried out once and the post-test measurement 1 week after the intervention. Data analysis using t-test. Knowledge increases after getting education both in group lectures and video combination lectures. There was a significant increase in knowledge and consumption of fruits and vegetables after the intervention in the lecture group and the combination group. There was no difference in knowledge (p = 0,169), fruit consumption (p = 0,417) and vegetable consumption (p = 0,417) between students who were given nutrition education with lecture media and those who were given nutrition education with video combination lecture media.

Abstract

Dehydration is not only caused by loss of body fluids, but is also influenced by physical activity and adequate fluid consumption. Students carry out various kinds of activities, so that the level of fluid consumption from drinks in students varies. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between fluid intake and physical activity with the incidence of dehydration. This study used a cross sectional study design with 184 male students as subjects at the National University. Data were taken in the form of characteristics, smoking habits, fluid intake (amount and type), as well as physical activity and dehydration conditions. The prevalence of dehydration found among students at the National University of Jakarta was 36,4%. The average amount of fluids consumed by the National University students was 2346,49 ± 1142,05 SD. There was a significant relationship between the amount of fluids consumed and dehydrated conditions (p 0,000), and there was a significant relationship between physical activity and dehydration conditions (p 0,026). There were significant difference in the average fluid intake consumed and physical activity with dehydrated conditions.

Abstract

Latar belakang : Menurut data WHO jumlah penderita Diabetes Mellitus di Indonesia merupakan urutan ke-4 di dunia tahun 2016. Beberapa faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi kadar gula darah diantaranya kepatuhan terapi diet, kepatuhan minum obat, aktivitas fisik, stres, pengetahuan. Tujuan : Untuk menganalisis hubungan kepatuhan diet dan aktivitas fisik dengan kadar gula darah pada pasien diabetes melitus rawat jalan di RS Harum Sisma Medika. Metode : Desain penelitian adalah cross sectional pada 55 pasien rawat jalan diabetes melitus tipe 2. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner karakteristik, kepatuhan diet DM, aktivitas fisik, dan kadar gula darah puasa. Data dianalisis dengan Kendall’s Tau B Correlation. Hasil: Kontrol gula darah yang buruk ditemukan sebesar 69,1 %, dan ketidakpatuhan diet sebesar 16,4%. Responden yang memiliki kadar gula darah tidak terkontrol sebanyak 38 (69,1%) dan kadar gula darah terkontrol sebanyak 17 (30,9%). Gambaran kepatuhan diet sebanyak 46 (83,6%) responden patuh terhadap diet dan 9 (16,4%) tidak patuh diet. Kepatuhan diet berpengaruh secara signifikan dengan kadar gula darah (p < 0,05; r 0,296) dengan nilai r 0,296. Aktivitas fisik berpengaruh secara signifikan dengan kadar gula darah (p < 0,05; r -0.351). Kesimpulan : Ada hubungan antara kepatuhan diet dan aktivitas fisik dengan kadar gula darah.

Abstract

Decreased physical activity can affect individual’s health and have an impact on increasing the risk of non-communicable diseases such as obesity, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused the Government to implement a study from home (SFH) policy to suppress the spread of the Covid-19 virus. This affects the physical activities carried out by students. This study aims to describe the level of physical activity and exercise in students before SFH and during SFH during the pandemic. The research methodology used is a quantitative study using an online survey. The research subjects consisted of 73 students of Binawan University semester 1-8. Giving the category of physical activity is done by calculating the average Physical Activity Level (PAL) in 1 day for a week. The results showed that 55 students (75.3%) were classified as light physical activity during SFH, from before SFH only 34 students (46.6%), moderate activity 19.2% from 45.2% and heavy activity only 5, 5% from the previous 8.2%. Only 25 students (34.2%) did sports activities 1-2 times per week during SFH compared to 53 students (72.6%). This study concluded that there was a decrease in physical activity and exercise habits in students during SFH during the pandemic. This is influenced by the implementation of learning from home and restrictions on activities outside the home and public facilities. Abstract

Gizi lebih merupakan masalah gizi yang sering dijumpai dan berpotensi gangguan kesehatan akibat berbagai komplikasi. Perilaku sedentari adalah aktivitas-aktivitas yang tidak meningkatkan pengeluaran energi dan pengeluaran energinya setara dengan pengeluaran energi saat istirahat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan aktivitas sedentari (berbasis layar, berbasis duduk, dan berbasis baca) dengan kejadian gizi lebih pada mahasiswa Universitas Nasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional dengan jumlah sampel 176 mahasiswa Universitas Nasional. Subjek didapatkan dengan cluster random sampling. Data yang dikumpulkan antara lain karakteristik (jenis kelamin, usia), indeks massa tubuh, aktivitas fisik, aktivitas sedentari, dan asupan camilan. Data aktivitas sedentari dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner aktivitas sedentari (PACE Adults Sedentary Activity) (berbasis layar, berbasis duduk, dan berbasis baca). Asupan diukur dengan menggunakan Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency. Data antropometri diukur dengan timbangan dan microtoise yang kemudian dikonversi menjadi data IMT. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis chi-square. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan terdapat 34,7% mahasiswa dengan gizi lebih. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara aktivitas sedentari (berbasis layar dan berbasis duduk) dengan gizi lebih (p 0,05; OR 1,879 and p 0,000; OR 10,358). Ada hubungan yang signifikan antara asupan energi camilan tinggi (>500kal) dengan gizi lebih (p 0,000; OR 4,131). Tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara aktivitas sedentari (berbasis baca) dengan gizi lebih. Ada hubungan antara aktivitas sedentari (berbasis layar dan berbasis duduk) dan asupan energi camilan dengan gizi lebih.

Abstract

Edukasi self-care merupakan pendidikan kesehatan yang dapat membantu pasien gagal ginjal kronik dengan beradaptasi dengan penyakit yang dialami. Kepatuhan dalam diet hemodialisis bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien dan mengurangi kekurangan gizi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis efektivitas antara edukasi leaflet self-care terhadap kepatuhan diet pada pasien penyakit ginjal kronis dengan hemodialisa di RS. Bhayangkara Tk. I R. Said Sukanto. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimental dengan desain nonequivalent group pretest-posttest design. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan metode purposive sampling, jumlah subjek 11 subjek. Pengumpulan data kepatuhan diet menggunakan kuesioner kepatuhan diet CKD pada pasien hemodialisa dan pengumpulan asupan zat gizi makro dengan wawancara menggunakan form food recall 2x24 jam. Analisis statistik yang digunakan adalah uji paired test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada uji bivariat terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikan edukasi (p = 0,000). Dan menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara asupan energi (p = 0,032), karbohidrat (p = 0,021), protein (p = 0,026), lemak (p =0,048) sebelum dan sesudah diberikan edukasi. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan setelah pemberian edukasi leaflet dengan self-care terhadap kepatuhan diet pasien penyakit ginjal kronik dengan hemodialisa.

Abstract

Introduction: The nutritional status of adolescents is influenced by several factors, including food intake, lifestyle, physical activity, and knowledge. The nutritional status of adolescents at SMA Negeri 87 Jakarta is still problematic, and based on observations, several behaviors are found that are still not in accordance with balanced nutrition. Objective: The purpose of this activity is to increase students' knowledge and awareness about balanced nutrition at 87 Highschool, Jakarta. Method: This public service was conducted by the Binawan University team, consisting of lecturers and students in 87 Highschool, Jakarta. This activity is carried out using an online method for 3 meetings from December 2021 – January 2022. The topics given are adolescent health during the COVID-19 pandemic, hoaxes about the COVID-19 vaccine, concepts and principles of balanced nutrition, consumption of vegetables and fruit, breakfast. health, physical activity, and weight control. Evaluation was carried out by giving pretest and posttest to determine the knowledge of participants after being given counseling. Result: This pubic service activity went smoothly and all activities were carried out. Based on the evaluation, the participants' interest was high and there was an increase in knowledge after being given education, except for topic 1 which was related to the Covid19 vaccine. The problem with low participation is because it coincides with student activities, so there are some students who are not present in the entire pubic service series. Conclusion: Providing regular and comprehensive counseling can increase students' knowledge about balanced nutrition and is expected to increase awareness of balanced nutrition behavior in the future.

Abstract

Background: Diet DASH (Dietary Approaches To Stop Hypertension) is one of the methods to lowering high blood pressure. Dietary compliance is one of the important things that hypertensive patients need to care of. The hypertensive patients should obey DASH diet in order to avoid further complication. This study aims to discover the effect of DASH diet education on diet adherence and blood preesure re in hypertensive patients in Cilandak Marine Hospital, Jakarta.Method: This study used quasi experimental design with pretest-posttest one group design approaches. There were 75 respondents in this study which were obtained using purposive sampling type. The data were obtained from Cilandak Marine Hospital, Jakarta. The statistical analysis used paired sample t test. Result: The result of the study showed that dietary compliance of DASH diet with blood pressure in hypertensive patients in Cilandak Marine Hospital, Jakarta were categorized 3 parts as non compliants when the score is 31-45 for as many as 32 respondents (42,7%), fair compliants when the score is 46-60 for as many as 39 respondent (52,0%) and 4 respondents (5,3%) are categorized in compliant score 61-75. The analysis of the systole and diastole of the blood pressure before and after the intervention in hypertensive patients showed a significant related correlation (p=0,000) .Conclusion: There is a significant correlation between the dietary compliance of DASH diet with blood pressure in hypertensive patients in Cilandak Marine Hospital, Jakarta.

Abstract

Degenerative processes can decrease the endurance in elderly that leads to health problem such as gout. Gout is a metabolic disorder, which is indicated by an increase uric acid in bloodstream (hyperuricemia). Factors affecting high level of uric acid are purine intake, physical activity and nutritional status. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between consumption pattern of purine source food, nutritional status and physical activity with uric acid level in elderly. The study design was cross sectional. The sample consisted of 100 subyekts at Puskesmas Kecamatan Makasar. The analytical used chi square. Patterns of food consumption of purine sources were measured using FFQ questionnaires which was then cut off into into 2 categories: low-moderate purine category with score <55 and high purine category with a score of ≥55 physical activity and nutritional status were measured using questionnaires, uric acid levels was obtained by looking at laboratory results or from patients' medical records. There was 10% of subyekts withlo- moderate uric acid levels and 90% of subyekts with high purine consumption pattern. Based on the results of chi square test there was a significant difference (p <0.05) between the consumption pattern of purine source food with normal uric acid and high uric acid. There was a relationship between consumption pattern of purine food source with uric acid level in elderly.

Abstract

Vegetables and fruit are generally food groups that are consumed by many people because many contains of benefits. Even though, in Indonesia consumption of vegetables and fruit still less than recommendation. The purpose of this research is to identify the factors affecting the consumption of vegetables and fruit adolescent at SMP NEGERI 238 Jakarta. This research uses design cross sectional and sampling using system random sampling that gets 107 students class VII, VIII, and IX in January 2020. The data obtained is based on the result of the questionnaire, form SQ-FFQ and Recall 24hour. Statistic data analysis used chi-square and logistic regression test. The result of this study indicate that adolescent who consumed vegetables and fruit according to recommendations per day are 24,3%. Bivariate result indicate there were significant relationship between self efficacy (p = 0,034), availability vegetables and fruit (p = 0,048), parental influence (p = 0,032), and there is no significant relationship between knowledge (p= 0,063). Multivariate result indicate there were signification relationship between knowledge, self efficacy, availability vegetables and fruit, and parental influence to consumption of vegetables and fruit, with highest OR value 5,634 on parental influence.
