Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of variety of teaching materials and the limited use of technology in the learning process, so that the learning process becomes less active and less interesting for students. To overcome this, researchers developed digital flipbook-based teaching materials in grade V IPAS learning with the material “My Indonesia is Rich in Biology”. The purpose of this study was to produce teaching materials that are valid, practical and effective. This research and development uses the ADDIE development model which consists of 5 (five) stages: Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data analysis was conducted to assess the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of teaching materials. The results showed that the developed digital flipbook-based teaching materials had a “High” level of validity with an average Aiken's V value of 0.84. The level of practicality of teaching materials is in the “Very Practical” category with an average value of 91.77%. The effectiveness of this teaching material is also “High” with an average N-Gain score of 0.91. Thus, it can be concluded that digital flipbook-based teaching materials in grade V IPAS learning are categorized as valid, practical, and effective and are suitable for use in the IPAS learning process.

Abstract

The problem examined in this article is students’ low understanding of social sciences learning subjects on cultural diversity learning material. Hence, it is necessary for the researcher to make a study to find out whether the cooperative learning model is an alternative to improve students' understanding and is more effective to provide social sciences learning subjects for class IV at SDN 81 Palembang or not, especially on jigsaw implementation. The method used was a quantitative research method in the type of experimental research. Data collection instruments were used through tests, observations, and documentation. Based on the results, jigsaw as a cooperative learning model was effective to improve students' understanding of social sciences learning subjects for cultural diversity learning material in grade IV, with an average post-test in the experimental class (86.0) that was higher than the post-test in the control class (78.8). The t-test that was carried out after the teaching obtained a significant value. Therefore, the significant (2-tailed) value of the t-test results obtained a value of 0.000, which was less than 0.025 (0.000 < 0.025). Related to these data, it was found that jigsaw as a cooperative learning model was effectively applied in social sciences learning subjects and could improve students' understanding during the teaching and learning processes in the classroom.

Abstract

Pre-service teachers with disabilities face career transitions shaped by personal aspirations, accessibility barriers, stigma, and limited role models. In Indonesia, little is known about how they build career readiness for teaching within inclusive unequal educational contexts. This study explores the career adaptability of pre-service teachers with disabilities in Indonesia. Grounded in Career Construction Theory, it examines concern, control, curiosity, and confidence, while extending the framework by considering resilience and flexibility as relevant dimensions. A qualitative phenomenological design was used. Twenty-five students with disabilities enrolled in Primary School Teacher Education and Special Education programs at an Indonesian university participated in semi-structured interviews. Data were analyzed using interpretative phenomenological analysis to capture participants' lived experiences in preparing for careers in education. The findings show that career adaptability developed through six interconnected dimensions. Concern emerged through career awareness, teac`hing practice, and disability role models. Control was reflected in career planning, barrier management, and priority adjustment. Curiosity involved exploring alternative pathways, using varied information sources, and engaging in cross-disciplinary collaboration. Confidence was strengthened by successful teaching experiences and support, but weakened by discrimination. Resilience enabled participants to recover from rejection, while flexibility supported adaptation to teaching methods, technologies, and professional roles. Inclusive mentoring, experiential learning, accessibility support, and disability-sensitive career guidance are essential to strengthen work readiness and advance an inclusive educational workforce.
