Abstract

Effective waste management remains a global challenge, particularly within educational institutions where practice-based and creative learning activities often generate considerable waste. Vocational programs such as Fashion Design and Culinary Arts produce residual materials that can potentially be reused through recycling, making students’ recycling attitudes an important concern for sustainability-oriented education. This study examined the influence of perceived knowledge, motivation, and environmental awareness on vocational students’ recycling attitudes in the Craft course. A quantitative cross-sectional survey design was employed involving 100 second-semester students from the Department of Family Welfare Education, Universitas Negeri Makassar. Data were collected using a validated and reliable questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with EViews 13. Classical assumption tests indicated that the dataset met the requirements of normality, absence of multicollinearity, and homoscedasticity. The findings showed that perceived knowledge, motivation, and environmental awareness were positive and significant predictors of students’ recycling attitudes, with motivation emerging as the strongest predictor. The regression model explained 83.57% of the variance in recycling attitudes. These findings suggest that recycling attitudes in vocational higher education are shaped not only by students’ knowledge, but also by motivational and awareness-related factors. The study provides practical insights for designing recycling-based projects and environmental literacy initiatives in vocational learning contexts.

Abstract

Mastery of digital technology is one of the essential skills in the business world, especially in the field of Culinary Arts, where online product marketing can expand market reach. However, students of the D4 Culinary Arts Study Program, Family Welfare Education Department, Faculty of Engineering, Makassar State University still have limitations in utilizing digital technology, especially in creating websites as a marketing medium. This article aims to describe the implementation of WordPress-based website creation training for 50 students with the aim of improving their skills in marketing products digitally. The training method includes delivering theoretical materials, direct practice, and evaluating results. The training was carried out through several stages, namely introducing basic digital marketing concepts, operating WordPress, creating a simple website, and publishing product content. The results of the training showed that the majority of participants succeeded in creating a functional website as a product marketing medium, with a significant increase in their ability to understand and implement digital marketing strategies. In addition, students appreciated this training as a strategic initial step in supporting the innovation and sustainability of their business.  This activity has a positive impact on students' mastery of digital technology, as well as opening up opportunities for the development of similar training with more complex advanced materials. Thus, this community service is a real contribution in answering the need for students' digital skills in the modern era.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemanfaatan limbah sabut kelapa di Kelurahan Gantarangkeke, Kabupaten Bantaeng, yang belum dioptimalkan sebagai sumber ekonomi produktif. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan kemandirian ekonomi Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) melalui pengolahan limbah sabut kelapa menjadi produk bernilai guna. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan pemberdayaan partisipatif yang meliputi tahapan identifikasi permasalahan, perancangan solusi, pelatihan keterampilan, pendampingan usaha, serta evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra dalam mengolah sabut kelapa menjadi media tanam, pot ramah lingkungan, dan produk dekoratif. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan pemanfaatan limbah serta munculnya potensi usaha berbasis kelompok yang mendukung peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat. Dengan demikian, program ini efektif dalam mengoptimalkan sumber daya lokal, mengurangi limbah lingkungan, serta mendorong pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This Community Service conducted training in creating e-modules using the professional flip PDF application which was held for lecturers in the Department of Family Welfare Education, Faculty of Engineering, Makassar State University. This training aims to improve lecturers' abilities in developing and using interactive learning media based on information technology. The methods used in this training are presentations, discussions and practice in creating e-modules. Training and mentoring carried out directly by the service team is carried out with a time division of 20% for theory and 80% for practice in creating e-modules. The results of this training showed a significant increase after giving a pretest before the training started and a posttest after the training ended. And this training activity can increase participants' insight and abilities in creating e-modules using the professional flip PDF application and participants will gain satisfaction regarding the training provided by the service team.
