Abstract

The process of learning conducted by lecturers in higher education currently obliges the student learning activities which are derived from the student centered learning (SCL) approach. This active learning must also be integrated with website-based IT information technology. Internet-based learning is a learning model that uses internet and web-based technology in accessing learning materials and allows learning interactions between fellow students or with lecturers anywhere and anytime.  On this origin, this research intends to develop digital teaching materials that can be accessed by students at any time because they are integrated with Android. This research uses development research (r&d) methods. In this research, the phases taken are: 1) designing digital teaching materials, validating design experts and material experts. The outcomes proved that the design for developing internet-based teaching materials was carried out in three phases, that is the needs analysis phase (PDP UMSU 2020), the design phase, and the development and implementation phase.  In the design phase, expert validation is carried out. The outcomes of the validation of the material content experts are in good qualification (88%), the outcomes of the validation of the learning design experts are in good qualifications (80%). Thus, it can be concluded that internet-based teaching materials are effective for improving student learning outcomes at the Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP) UMSU during the new normal period after the Covid 19 pandemic.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the increase in mathematical communication skills of students who received the Problem Based Learning Learning Model based on Augmented Reality was higher than the increase in mathematical communication skills of students who did not receive a problem-based learning model. Students' mathematical communication skills measured in this study include students' abilities in terms of modeling, namely:Presenting real objects, pictures, or diagrams into mathematical ideas, Drawing is Expressing mathematical ideas orally or in writing in the form of images or visuals and Reporting, namely Using language, notation and mathematical structures to present and communicate ideas to draw conclusions. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a population of all students of SMP Muhammadiyah 04 Medan Indonesia. Two classes are selected at random from the available classes. The experimental class was treated with a culture-based Problem Based Learning learning model with Augmented Reality assistance, while the control class was not given any treatment. Data analysis was carried out using parametric statistics, namely the t-test. The results showed that the increase in students' mathematical communication skills who were taught through the culture-based Problem Based Learning learning model assisted by Augmented Reality was higher than the increase in the mathematical communication skills of students who were not given the Augmented Reality-assisted culture-based Problem Based Learning learning.

Abstract

This study explains the factual about learning using online media during long-distance lectures during the Covid 19 epidemic. Some students are used as a source of information using a qualitative approach method. By using behaviorism and cognitive theory.Online Distance Learning can take advantage of social media with virtual online learning via video conferencing, teleconferences, in groups on social media. Social media is a way out to get rid of boredom or stress from studying at home. These are new conditions for faculty and students, Makathe role of lecturers is very much needed in managing or managing learning starting from planning, organizing, actuating and evaluating in order to increase the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic.
