Abstract

This research is motivated by an interest in the process of language acquisition in children, especially at the phonological level, namely the acquisition of phonemes aged 3-4 years. This research study uses psycholinguistics and pragmatics. This study describes how acquiring phonemes for children aged 3-4 years in Mamolo village, Nunukan district is described in source from speech act the parents. The type of research used is qualitative research, namely by observing and taking notes. Based on the research findings, it is concluded that children aged 3-4 years have difficulty pronouncing consonant phonemes. The object has not mastered the phonemes /x/ and /z/ and has not distinguished the sounds /p/, /f/, and /v/. As well as the release of sounds such as the phoneme /s/ becomes /c/ in [pain] becomes [cakit].

Abstract

The  problems  in  the  research  are  how  problematic  language  teachers  are  in  online  learning  during  the  pandemic,  and  how  to  solve  problems  for  Indonesian  language  teachers  in  online  learning  during  the  pandemic.  The  purpose  of  this  study  is  to  describe  the  problems  of  Indonesian  language  teachers  in  online  learning  during  the  pandemic  and  to  describe  problem  solving  solutions  for  Indonesian  language  teachers  in  online  learning  during  the  pandemic.  This  research  is  a  qualitative  descriptive  research.  This  type  of  research  does  not  have  a  comparison  group.  The  subjects  in  this  study  were  Indonesian  language  teachers  at  SMP  and  SMA  Negeri  1  Ampibabo  in  Ampibabo  village.  Data  collection  in  this  study  were  questionnaires,  interviews  and  documentation.  The  data  from  the  evaluation  were  analyzed  using  qualitative  data  analysis  methods.  The  results  of  this  study  are  (1)  Inadequate  internet  network  access  during  the  online  learning  process.  (2)  The  teacher  is  a  "debt  collector"  in  carrying  out  the  online  teaching  and  learning  process,  the  teacher  only  gives  assignments  continuously  and  collects  assignments  at  a  predetermined  time.  (3)  Teachers  still  stutter  in  mastering  technology  so  that  in  the  implementation  of  online  learning  it  is  still  difficult  to  choose  relevant  applications  and  teaching  methods  are  still  not  varied.  (4)  The  implementation  of  online  learning  greatly  affects  the  psychological  condition  of  students  where  in  online  learning  these  students  experience  boredom  and  are  lazy  to  participate  in  learning.  The  teacher's  practical  solution  in  implementing  online  learning  is  by  applying  offline  learning  by  visiting  from  home  to  home  where  in  the  offline  learning  process  students  are  very  active  in  the  learning  process  compared  to  online  learning  which  cannot  be  carried  out  effectively

Abstract

This research aims to describe: (1) form, (2) meaning, and (3) function contained in the Momasoro traditional ceremonial procession of the Lauje tribe. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative and uses a semiotic approach. The data sources for this research are the results of interviews, field notes, and documentation in the form of photos or voice recordings. The results of this research show that the form, meaning and function of the Momasoro traditional ceremonial procession in the Lauje tribe have several stages of the ritual process starting from the top of the mountains to the coast, namely starting from the area (1) Bambanu'ayol as the place for the opening of the custom, (2 ) Bambabalal as a meeting place for water, (3) Pogolimpangatang as a large water meeting place, (4) Bambasiang as a place where water spreads, and (5) Bambamate as a traditional closing place. The symbols found in Momasoro traditional ceremonies are grouped into parts (1) Wada' uwompogane; (2) Monyait Salasa'; (3) Molilinsonang; (4) Payangana hinulalanga tolumbenge ma toluweleyo; (5) Inantare'e bamba ma'e nuwogo; and (6) Do’a Salama.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the main character's resistance to racism in Theodore Melfi's film Hidden Figures. This research is a qualitative descriptive study, as a research procedure that can produce descriptive data that can be in the form of written or spoken words from people with observable behavior. Qualitative descriptive research aims to make a systematic, factual, and accurate description, description, or painting of facts and characteristics, as well as the relationship between things being investigated. The techniques in data analysis used in this study are 1) data reduction, 2) data presentation, and 3) verification. The results obtained describe the existence of racial discrimination and the attitudes of the main character of the film Hidden Figures' resistance to discrimination which is divided into 6 parts, namely: 1) Racial Justification, 2) Classification Based on Skin Color in Place Settings, 3) Racism in Facilities General Black/Skin, 4) Unpleasant Treatment and, 5) Promote Equality.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pergeseran honorifik pada sistem kekerabatan masyarakat Mandar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif komparatif yang bersifat diakronik. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah dokumentasi, wawancara, dan observasi. Informan penelitian ini adalah masyarakat Mandar yang memiliki garis keturunan bangsawan dan masyarakat biasa yang dianggap memiliki pengetahuan, pengalaman, dan kemampuan dalam bidang penelitian yang dimaksud Hasil dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pergeseran honorifik pada sistem kekerabatan masyarakat Mandar yaitu terdiri dari (1) masa lalu kaitannya dengan sistem honorifik pada masyarakat tradisional. (2) masa sekarang yang kaitannya dengan sistem honorifik pada masyarakat modern. Kedua masa tersebut memiliki sistem honorifik yang sedikit berbeda. Perbedaan itu disebabkan adanya perubahan atau dengan kata lain pergeseran. Pada masyarakat tradisional khususnya di daerah Mandar telah dikenal istilah pemerian nama yang dilakukan pada saat bayi lahir seperti Acoq, Asoq, Caco, Kacoq , Icciq, Cicciq dan Issiq. Sementara pada masa modern, sistem kekerabatan masyarakat Mandar tidak lagi menggunakan sistem penamaan diri seperti Acoq, Icciq, Kacoq, dan Cicciq. Hal ini dapat dilihat pada keadaan kekinian dimana masyarakat sudah mulai meninggalkan sistem tersebut.

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemahaman membaca kritis mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Tadulako. Jenis studi ini adalah kualitiatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Metode pengumpulan data dalam studi ini mencakup observasi dan wawancara, dokumetasi, dan tes. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa masih kurang mampu memahami aktivitas membaca kritis berdasarkan keterampilan membaca kritis model Facione melalui soal tes yang disajikan. Keterampilan membaca kritis model Facione terbagi atas enam keterampilan dengan setiap sub keterampilan memiliki indikator. Kemampuan mahasiswa dalam membaca kritis pada berita menunjukkan hasil yang cukup baik dengan memperoleh nilai rata-rata 68 dengan kualifikasi cukup baik, terdapat 3 mahasiswa memperoleh nilai dengan kualifikasi baik, 23 mahasiswa mendapatkan nilai dengan kualifikasi cukup baik, dan 4 mahasiswa mendapatkan nilai dengan kualifikasi kurang baik.

Abstract

The focus of the problems for this research are: (1) Determining the form of code-switching in communication in the community of Gunung Bale Village, Donggala, (2) The factors causing code-switching in communication among the community of Gunung Bale Village, Donggala. The aims of this study are (1) to describe the form of code-switching in communication among the community of Gunung Bale Village, Donggala, (2) to describe the factors that cause code-switching in communication in the community of Gunung Bale Village, Donggala. This study uses a qualitative method. The process of obtaining data and data sources Is through oral data in the community of Gunung Bale Village, Donggala. Data collection techniques used are recording technique, observing technique, and note-taking techniques Data analysis techniques through the process of (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, and (3) data verification. The results showed that the forms of code-switching from the results of this study are the internal form of code-switching in the form of code-switching from Bugis to Indonesian, the external code-switching in the form of (1) code-switching from Indonesian to Kaili, Undepu dialect, (2) code-switching from Kaili, Undepu dialect to Indonesian. The factors that caused code-switching to Kaili, Undepu dialect in the Gunung Bale Village community, Donegal, are (1) speaker factors, (2) speech partner factors, (3) third-person presence factors, and (4) topic change factors.

Abstract

This study describes the forms and meanings of anthropomorphic metaphors in Pae dialect in view of cultural linguistics. This study is descriptive. The methods of data collection were observation, interview, and documentary study. The techniques of data collection were recording, elicitation, and note-taking. The sources of data were the native speakers of Pae language represented by two key informants. Data were analyszed qualitatively by using inductive method. The results of study show that the forms and meanings of anthropomorphic metaphor in Pae language have unique and specific characteristics, as can be seen in such terms as ulung wae, mata wae, kinga kue, wewa kue, nggolo kue, lime kerosi, tuka nepe, tedu nepe, wa’i woko, and tedu woko. The results of study might be beneficial to support the study of language as the mirror of culture shared by a people as members of an ethnic group with special reference to Pae language as the mirror of Pae culture serving both as the sense of identity and as the symbol of identity for Pae people as members of Pae ethnic group.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the forms and functions of liberal feminism in the novel "Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika" by Hanum Salsabiela Rais. It employs a qualitative descriptive research design using the liberal feminist theory approach. The data is sourced from the 2015 edition of the novel "Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika" by Hanum Salsabiela Rais. Data collection is conducted through reading and note-taking techniques. Data analysis consists of three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data reduction is intended to sharpen, categorize, guide, and eliminate unnecessary data. Data presentation is carried out by grouping the data according to their respective sub-sections related to liberal feminism. The conclusion-drawing step is based on organizing information using inductive techniques. Based on the research findings, the forms and functions of liberal feminism are identified. The functions and forms of liberal feminism mutually support each other, particularly in the fields of politics, culture, economy, and society.  AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan bentuk dan fungsi feminisme liberal dalam novel Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika Karya Hanum Salsabiela Rais. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan teori feminisme liberal. Data bersumber   dari novel Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika Karya Hanum Salsabiela Rais cetakan tahun 2015. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik baca dan teknik catat. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tiga tahap, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Reduksi data dimaksudkan untuk menajamkan, menggolongkan, mengarahkan, membuang data yang tidak diperlukan. Penyajian data dilakukan dengan mengelompokkan data sesaui dengan sub-babnya masing-masing yang berkaitan dengan feminisme liberal. Adapun langkah penarikan kesimpulan dilakukan berdasarkan pengorganisasian informasi dengan menggunakan teknik induktif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan bentuk dan fungsi feminisme liberal. Fungsi dan bentuk feminism liberal tersebut saling mendukung, yaitu bidang politik, budaya, ekonomi, dan sosial.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms and usage of address terms in the Buol language as used by the community in Kali Subdistrict, Biau District, Buol Regency. The Buol language possesses a system of address that reflects social structure, kinship relations, and local cultural values. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, recording, and note-taking techniques. The findings reveal seven forms of address terms: (1) pronominal address, (2) personal names, (3) kinship terms, (4) social status, (5) community figures, (6) physical-based nicknames, and (7) habitual-based nicknames. The use of address terms depends on factors such as age, social position, kinship ties, and the context of formal or informal situations. This research highlights the importance of documenting and preserving the Buol language and encourages younger generations to safeguard this cultural heritage.
