Abstract

The potential that exists in each region is often not fully utilized, especially in relation to the development of village tourism, including in Wonodadi Kulon village, Ngadirojo District, Pacitan Regency, East Java Province. One of the village potentials that can be developed is village tourism based on river water sports. Through Community Service Program activities, it is hoped that existing resources can be optimized so that the village becomes a tourist village based on river water sports. The Community Service Program will be implemented from October to November 2023 in Wonodadi Kulon Village, Ngadirojo District, Pacitan Regency, East Java Province. The method used in community service program activities is based on the asset-based approach (ABA). The activity stages include field observations, drafting material requirements and implementation, licensing, implementation of service, evaluation, up to the final report. The general results of the activity were that training and mentoring activities related to the development of village tourism based on river water sports were carried out with 35 participants. Abstract

Research Problems: Over the past year, the performance of the volleyball extracurricular program at SMA ITP Surabaya has declined, followed by a decrease in student participation. This suggests a drop in interest that requires further investigation. Research Objectives: This study aims to analyse students’ interest in participating in the volleyball extracurricular activity and to identify intrinsic and extrinsic factors influencing their participation through questionnaires and interviews. Method: A qualitative descriptive approach was employed. Data were collected using questionnaires and interviews to provide a comprehensive overview of student interest levels. Results: Findings reveal that students’ intrinsic interest reached only 8.25% (categorised as very good). In comparison, extrinsic interest accounted for 61.87% (categorised as good), indicating that external factors play a more significant role in influencing participation. Conclusion: Extrinsic factors are more dominant in shaping students’ interest in volleyball extracurricular activities, highlighting the importance of strengthening external support to boost engagement.

Abstract

Sensory-motor training can improve body awareness and better control of body movements, making it important in the recovery of injured athletes. Although sensory-motor training is newer than conventional physical recovery, this approach is beginning to be applied in various rehabilitation clinics and training programs. This study used an experimental design with a quantitative approach involving two groups, each consisting of 6 athletes. A total of 12 athletes from Koni Kota Malang were selected from several selected sports, including soccer, basketball, and volleyball. Overall, the results of this study indicate that sensorimotor training can be an effective alternative in improving body stability, balance, and reaction time in athletes after injury. The results also provide further evidence that technology and methods that integrate sensorimotor aspects can help athletes in the post-injury recovery process. Therefore, it is important to consider the application of sensorimotor training in athlete rehabilitation programs.

Abstract

Purpose: Passing accuracy is an essential technical skill in volleyball that determines the effectiveness of team attacks and game organization. However, many developing athletes still experience difficulties in maintaining accurate and consistent passing performance. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the relationship between passing accuracy and on-point passing skills among Kendal Sewu volleyball players. Materials and Methods: This study employed a descriptive approach involving 12 active volleyball players from the Kendal Sewu Volleyball Club aged between 15 and 25 years. Data were collected using a questionnaire consisting of 24 items designed to measure passing accuracy and on-point passing performance. Observations during training sessions were also conducted to support the data. Instrument validity and reliability were tested using item-total correlation and Cronbach’s Alpha with SPSS software. Result: The findings indicate that most players still demonstrate inconsistent passing accuracy during training sessions and gameplay situations. Only a small proportion of players showed adequate on-point passing performance, while the majority experienced difficulties in directing passes accurately toward teammates. These findings suggest that technical mastery, coordination, and training variation may influence passing performance. Conclusion: Passing accuracy plays a crucial role in building effective offensive strategies in volleyball. The results highlight the importance of structured and varied training programs to improve passing precision and overall team coordination among Kendal Sewu volleyball players.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to improve T-kick skills in Pencak Silat among students at Ta'Miriyah Surabaya High School through the drill method. The T-kick is a fundamental technique requiring precision, coordination, and consistency. The drill method was selected due to its emphasis on repetitive and focused practice, allowing students to refine specific technical components effectively. Materials and Methods: A quantitative experimental design was applied, involving 20 students participating in the Pencak Silat extracurricular program. The training program lasted six weeks, with sessions conducted twice weekly. To measure improvement, students were assessed using a pre-test before the intervention and a post-test after completing the training. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired t-test to determine the significance of differences between pre- and post-test results. Result: The findings indicated a significant improvement in students’ T-kick performance following the drill-based training. This enhancement was reflected in better accuracy, speed, and overall execution of the technique. The average pre-test score increased from 30.92 to 34.17 in the post-test. Statistical analysis yielded a p-value of 0.000, confirming a statistically significant difference between the two measurements. Conclusion: The drill method proved effective in enhancing T-kick skills among high school students. The structured and repetitive nature of this approach supports skill acquisition and technical mastery in martial arts training. This study highlights the importance of targeted training methods and provides practical implications for coaches and educators in developing students’ fundamental Pencak Silat techniques at the school level.

Abstract

Objective: This community service activity aimed to strengthen the competence of junior high school extracurricular coaches through a coaching clinic focused on physical conditioning training across multiple sports. The program addressed the limited ability of school coaches to design structured and scientifically based physical training programs. Method: The activity employed a participatory training approach using a coaching clinic model involving interactive lectures, demonstrations, direct practice, and reflective discussions. Participants consisted of extracurricular sports coaches from various disciplines. The program was implemented in three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through pretest–posttest assessments and evaluation of training program designs developed by participants. Results: The findings indicated a significant improvement in participants’ understanding and practical skills. The average score increased from 60.7 (pretest) to 83.9 (posttest), with an overall improvement of 38.2%. Participants were able to develop more structured, systematic, and applicable physical training programs. Additionally, active engagement and positive responses were observed throughout the activity, indicating the effectiveness of the coaching clinic approach. Novelty: This program offers a practical and integrative coaching clinic model specifically designed for multicategory sports coaches at the school level. It bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and field application by emphasizing hands-on experience and contextual learning, which is rarely addressed in conventional coach training programs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the comparison of students' physical fitness during the COVID-19 pandemic and after the pandemic based on VO2 Max values. The research sample amounted to 100 students who had physical fitness data in two observation periods, namely during the pandemic and after the pandemic. Fitness measurements were carried out using the Beep Test (Multi-Stage Fitness Test / MSFT) to obtain a VO2 Max value. The results of the study showed that the average VO2 Max of students during the pandemic was 35 ml/kg/minute, while after the pandemic it increased to 42 ml/kg/minute. An increase of 7 ml/kg/min indicates a recovery in the student's aerobic capacity after returning to normal physical activity. Students who remained active in exercise during the pandemic showed better levels of fitness than students who did little physical activity. In addition, psychological factors, social support, and the availability of sports facilities also affect changes in students' physical fitness. Thus, the COVID-19 pandemic has been proven to have an impact on the decline in students' physical fitness, but these conditions can be restored through increased physical activity, environmental support, and structured physical education programs in the post-pandemic period.
