Abstract

Students' interest in learning is very important in education, and mind mapping is an effective method of organizing information visually. This study aims to determine the positive and significant influence of the use of mind mapping on students' learning interest in social studies class VII at SMPN 6 Solok City. This type of research is quantitative with an associative approach, involving 64 students from grades VII.2 and VII.3 through total sampling techniques. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed by classical assumption tests, including normality, linearity, homocedasticity, and simple linear regression t-tests. The results of the study showed that the significant value of mind mapping was 0.000 < 0.05 and  6.532 while  1.669 was rejected, so it was  rejected and  accepted. This means that there is a positive and significant influence between the use of mind mapping on students' learning interests. About 40.8% of the variation in learning interests was explained by mind mapping, while 59.2% was influenced by other factors. The regression model was obtained with the formula: Y = 23.163(α) + 0.405(X), showing that an increase of 1 unit of mind mapping use increased students' learning interest by 0.405 points, assuming other factors were constant. Based on research, it can be concluded that the use of mind mapping has a positive influence on students' interest in learning. This method helps visualize information and increase participation. Students are advised to continue to develop skills in making mind mapping more interesting and easy to understand.

Abstract

Karakter adalah ciri khas setiap individu yang mencakup sifat, kepribadian, watak dan perilaku. Pembentukan karakter siswa dipengaruhi oleh dua faktor utama, yaitu media sosial dan teman sebaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap seberapa besar pengaruh kedua faktor tersebut terhadap pembentukan karakter siswa kelas VII di SMPN 6 Kota Solok. Terdapat tiga tujuan utama dalam penelitian ini: pertama, untuk mengetahui pengaruh media sosial; kedua, untuk merangsang pengaruh teman sebaya; dan ketiga, untuk menilai pengaruh gabungan keduanya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan asosiatif. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari 159 siswa yang terbagi dalam kelas VII.1 hingga VII.5, sementara sampel yang diambil berjumlah 114 siswa melalui teknik random sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan angket dan dianalisis dengan berbagai uji asumsi klasik, termasuk uji normalitas dan uji linearitas, serta uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel media sosial dan teman sebaya memiliki nilai signifikan yang menunjukkan pengaruh positif terhadap pembentukan karakter siswa. Dengan kontribusi keduanya mencapai 17,5%, penelitian ini menyimpulkan pentingnya media sosial dan teman sebaya dalam membentuk karakter siswa. Siswa diharapkan memanfaatkan media sosial secara positif dan memilih teman sebaya yang mendukung perkembangan karakter mereka.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas pergeseran paradigma dalam memandang hasil evaluasi pembelajaran, khususnya yang sering dilabeli sebagai 'nilai merah' atau hasil yang kurang memuaskan. Secara tradisional, hasil rendah sering diasosiasikan dengan kegagalan dan penalti. Namun, penelitian ini berargumen bahwa evaluasi pembelajaran dalam bentuk apa pun memiliki kekuatan transformatif sebagai mesin peningkatan diri yang dinamis, asalkan dimanfaatkan melalui proses refleksi dan aksi yang terstruktur. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif untuk menganalisis bagaimana umpan balik (feedback) dari hasil evaluasi dapat dikonversi dari sekadar indikator performa menjadi peta jalan (roadmap) yang jelas untuk perbaikan. Konsep utamanya terletak pada pengembangan metakognisi dan kemampuan mengambil tindakan (agency) siswa. Nilai merah, dalam konteks ini, tidak dilihat sebagai akhir, melainkan sebagai data kritis yang menunjuk pada kesenjangan pemahaman spesifik. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa ketika siswa diajari untuk: 1) secara aktif menganalisis nilai merah untuk mengidentifikasi akar masalah, 2) merumuskan strategi pembelajaran yang ditargetkan berdasarkan kelemahan yang teridentifikasi, dan 3) mengimplementasikan dan memantau strategi baru tersebut, nilai tersebut bertindak sebagai katalisator untuk perbaikan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Literacy is the ability of an individual to read, write, speak, and think critically. Literacy does not merely encompass the ability to read and write, but also includes understanding and utilizing information. Information obtained by an individual should not be accepted uncritically; rather, it must be analyzed in terms of its content and message. Cultivating this habit from an early age significantly influences a child’s development. In daily life, a culture of literacy is something that must be emphasized across all levels of society, including within the family environment. It is crucial to instill this literacy culture from childhood so that individuals grow into adults capable of critically analyzing every piece of information they receive. Jorong Lurah Nan Tigo is a region located in the Kenagarian Salayo, Solok Regency. This community actively engages women through the PKK Lurah Nan Tigo group. The women in this area come from diverse social and family backgrounds, ranging from housewives to working mothers. With such diversity, parenting patterns also vary, which in turn influences the way literacy culture is applied within families. Therefore, it is important to provide understanding to the women of the PKK Lurah Nan Tigo so that the surrounding community recognizes the significance of literacy culture and its application, beginning within the family, particularly by mothers. Mothers play a pivotal role in the family as motivators who can enhance the abilities and skills of their children.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the institutional capacity and business management capabilities of the Nagari Koto Hilalang Coffee Farmers Group. The program was implemented in several stages: outreach to partners and stakeholders on May 18, 2025, business management and financial literacy training on May 23, 2025, and post-harvest coffee processing training on June 6, 2025. Methods used included lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on practice. The business management training materials covered business planning, organization, simple financial record keeping, and group institutional restructuring. The results of the program demonstrated an increase in group members' understanding of business governance, financial record keeping, and post-harvest coffee handling techniques, which is expected to improve the quality and economic value of the coffee produced. This activity also strengthened the synergy between the farmer group and stakeholders in supporting sustainable coffee business development. Abstract

This community service activity aimed to improve students' understanding and readiness in facing the Academic Competency Test (TKA). The activity was conducted at SMK Negeri 3 Solok involving 154 students of grade XII from Hospitality, Culinary, and Fashion Design departments. The methods used consisted of interactive lectures, question analysis sessions, and simulations. The results showed that students' understanding of TKA characteristics and problem-solving strategies improved. Approximately 90% of participants stated that the simulation helped them understand the types of questions better, while 100% of students considered the explanation of tips and strategies easy to understand. The activity also increased students' confidence and time management skills in answering TKA questions. Therefore, continuous assistance is needed to strengthen students' readiness in facing higher education entrance examinations.
