Abstract

EFL learners inevitably will enter the world of academia, which makes it mandatory for them to write academic writings, especially in the form of research articles. They are obliged to broaden knowledge in the field of their interest by conducting research. Unfortunately, academic writing has always been a serious challenge for them. Writing research articles indeed requires them to be familiar with the writing guidelines, particularly about how the ideas are developed. This present study is therefore intended to assist EFL learners, particularly those who have just started their academic writing experience. Insight and ideas on how to write a research article are presented in this paper. To do that, a qualitative methodology on discourse analysis was employed. The data was taken from a research article focusing on discourse marker comparisons between academic and non-academic writings. The article is broken down in detail to provide a clear picture of how it is constructed by the authors. The analysis revealed that even though it contains some minor weaknesses, the research article overall is well-written and follows the author guidelines. This study allows EFL learners to receive more explicit input and, hopefully, adapt and adopt the steps of how the article is written.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the effectiveness of students' mathematical critical thinking skills using quizizz with PBL with ethnomathematics nuances. The type of research that has been used is quantitative with quasi-experimental methods. One group pretest-posttest research design. Students are given a pretest and intervention through the use of quizizz, after which a posttest is carried out. The research sample was 55 grade IV elementary school students using the saturated sampling technique. The research instrument was a multiple choice test, while data analysis used an independent sample T-Test with a difference test of Sig = 0.000. The results showed that the experimental class mean was 80.82, the control class was 74.14. This proves that the application of quiziz in PBL with ethnomathematics nuances is very effective in increasing student learning independence (self-confidence, always prepared, daring to appear in front, confident in one's abilities, and not afraid to try). Therefore, the application of quiziz with PBL with ethnomathematics nuances can improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The students do not always feel at ease when working in groups or pairs. One of the reasons for this discomfort is the presence of power dynamics among the students. Therefore, this study focuses on investigating these dynamics and aims to achieve three main goals. Firstly, it aims to identify the indicators of power in student-student interactions between female and male EFL learners. Secondly, it aims to describe the relationships that are formed among them. Lastly, it aims to determine which participants exhibit more power in these interactions. The methodology employed in this study is qualitative, utilizing a classroom discourse analysis to identify the behaviors that manifest during student-student interactions. The data is examined using the theories of process types within systemic functional linguistics. The findings are then utilized to infer which participants wield more power in the interactions. The analysis reveals that a significant majority of the participants' process types indicate the presence of power. Furthermore, the relationship between female and male EFL learners is neither cooperative nor competitive, as one gender tends to dominate while the other has less ability to challenge this dominance. Thus, either female or male EFL learners can exhibit more power in the interaction. These findings indicate that power dynamics in interactions are not inherently tied to gender.

Abstract

The lack of use of digital platforms as a learning tool at the elementary school level is one of the causes of low student learning outcomes in solving mathematical problems. This study uses a quantitative approach. The aim of the research is to improve elementary school students' problem-solving abilities with a digital-based platform in the form of live worksheets. The research population consisted of 300 students enrolled in a school. The data collection technique was a random sample (random sampling) of 49 students. The test instruments used are in the form of pretest and posttest sheets. The results showed that the pretest average was 21.24, the lowest score obtained on the pretest was 10, while the highest score was 25. Meanwhile, the average posttest score was also 21.24, the lowest score on the posttest was also 10, while the highest score was 25. It can be concluded that the average pretest and posttest scores are the same, namely 21.24. In addition, the range of scores from the lowest score to the highest score is from 10 to 25, indicating that there is variation in student performance but not too extreme. This concludes that the use of a digital platform in the form of live worksheets can improve students' problem solving abilities in mathematics learning.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi merupakan kemampuan yang perlu dikembangkan oleh setiap siswa dalam proses pembelajaran matematika di sekolah. Kemampuan ini dapat dijadikan salah satu faktor unggul untuk menjadikan siswa yang berkualitas dalam menghadapi pendidikan di era saat ini. Namun faktanya kemampuan berpikir siswa masih jauh dari harapan yang diinginkan, hal ini dinyatakan oleh TIMMS bahwa kemampuan berpikir anak Indonesia masih tergolong rendah, selain itu ditunjukan PISA dalam OECD menunjukan bahwa kemampuan matematika siswa Indonesia ada pada peringkat 63 dari 69 Negara. Oleh karena itu, kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi perlu dikembangkan saat ini dan dimasa yang akan datang. Salah satu peran untuk mengembangkan kemampuan ini yaitu dengan tutor feedback berbantuan komik melalui contextual teaching and learning dalam pembelajaran matematika, hal ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi matematika siswa. Tutor feedback salah satu assesment yang dapat digunakan untuk meluruskan atau membenarkan siswa yang menjawab salah atau belum benar, sedangkan komik salah satu bahan ajar yang dekat dengan kehidupan sehari-hari sehingga model yang dapat diterapkan yaitu contextual teaching and learning. Jadi berdasarkan urian konseptual di atas diharapkan peran tutor feedback berbantuan komik ini dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi matematika siswa.

Abstract

Mundupesisir Village is one of the potential villages located on the coast of West Java due to the presence of mangrove conservation along its shores. Mangroves are crucial ecosystems for environmental enhancement, but in reality, this conservation effort has received less intensive attention. Therefore, a strategy is needed to develop and enhance environmental awareness through the improvement of literacy. MANGLIEDS is an edutourism-based mangrove literacy enhancement program initiated to address this issue. The development of literacy in Mundupesisir Village utilizes Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) as a method for planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. This approach encourages active participation of the community at all levels, directing development towards their needs and aspirations, enhancing their involvement, and facilitating program implementation. The MANGLIEDS program includes strengthening student involvement, community empowerment, collaboration with the village government, and project management, providing a comprehensive approach to promote understanding and awareness of the importance of mangrove forests. Through socialization activities, training, and the development of mangrove edutourism ventures, this program can enhance the community's knowledge of the ecological and economic benefits of mangrove forests and inspire awareness of their conservation. This program not only benefits the local community but also provides opportunities for students to develop their skills and knowledge in the field of environment and sustainability. Thus, MANGLIEDS can serve as an inspirational and effective model in integrating edutourism and mangrove literacy into a cohesive entity that positively impacts environmental preservation and the well-being of the local community.

Abstract

This collaborative learning aims to improve the quality and quantity of cooperation between universities in eastern Indonesia through the implementation of collaborative online learning. Collaborative online learning training involves six educators who will teach.. Based on the results of a survey that has been conducted, it is stated that IPB Cirebon students still use LMS as a lecture system, while Uniflor students have a face-to-face lecture system. Therefore, a collaborative online learning program (PDK) was carried out between IPB Cirebon and Uniflor. The PDK program is implemented using three stages. These stages include starting from initial studies, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Using stages in the PDK program is the right approach. Active student involvement in every meeting, the development of LMS-based digital teaching materials will be more oriented towards student needs and aspirations. Through active student participation, the PDK program has the potential for better achievements, realizing learning in 2045. Collaborative online learning between two universities can increase digital literacy between students and educators. Collaborative online learning can also develop students' abilities in the 3T area. Through this learning, students can collaborate with other university students.

Abstract

On March 24, 2020 the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia issued Circular Letter Number 4 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of Education Policies in the Emergency Period for the Spread of COVID, in the Circular it was explained that the learning process was carried out at home through online/distance learning to provide a learning experience. meaningful to students. Studying at home can be focused on life skills education, including regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. Online learning students have the flexibility of learning time, can learn anytime and anywhere. Students can interact with teachers using several applications such as classroom, video conference, telephone, live chat, zoom meeting or via whatsapp group. This learning is an educational innovation to answer the challenge of the availability of varied learning resources. The purpose of this research is to find out how the implementation of the learning process carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic at SMK Ulil Albab, implement e-learning learning methods to support the learning process during the pandemic, provide solutions for schools to monitor the learning process during the pandemic with applications. e-learning designed according to school needs. For that, the author is interested in developing to analyze "Design of a Distance Learning System Using E-Learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic Using MYSQL Databases at Ulil Albab Vocational School".

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between interest in learning and learning outcomes in online lecture learning in the primary school teacher education department at STKIP INVADA University Cirebon. In addition, this research is also to develop technological media in the form of blogs, whatsapp, google classroom, zoom, and other learning media to determine the effect of supporting online learning on students. The population of this study is elementary school teacher education students with online learning majors. There are 21 elementary school teacher education students at the STKIP INVADA University Cirebon. Data collection techniques using questionnaires or questionnaires, interviews and documentation methods. The questionnaire method was used to reveal the variables of student interest in learning, interviews were used to strengthen the questionnaire method in knowing student answers about student interest in learning in online learning in accordance with actual conditions, and the documentation method was used to reveal data on online learning outcomes. The instrument validity test uses Product Moment correlation, and the reliability test uses Cronbach's Alpha formula with the number of respondents N = 13 for students of the PGSD study program class of 2021 and 2022. The analysis prerequisite test consists of normality test, homogeneity test. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between the relationship of interest in learning to learning outcomes in students of the primary school teacher education study program at STKIP INVADA Cirebon, with = 0.570; r2 = 0.3249 and 5.237 is greater than 1.672 with a significance of 0.000.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of students in multiplication arithmetic operations which is influenced by several factors including conventional learning and some students cannot do multiplication. This makes students' ability in multiplication counting operations still low. Based on these problems, efforts to improve students' abilities in multiplication counting operations using the game method. This research method uses Classroom Action Research which consists of four stages, namely; planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.
