Abstract

Early childhood is known as a golden period of child development that requires appropriate stimulation so that all aspects of development, especially fine motor skills, can develop optimally. In reality, the development of fine motor skills in children is not optimal due to teachers' limitations in the use of media and innovative learning methods. The purpose of this study was to develop children's fine motor skills through stringing activities that utilize natural materials, namely banana leaves. This study applied the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with two cycles, which included the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. As research subjects, 20 children from group A were selected, consisting of 8 boys and 12 girls. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed qualitatively through the stages of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed a significant increase in children's fine motor skills, especially in aspects of speed, flexibility, and finger strength. Stringing activities with banana leaves were proven to be able to provide a fun and meaningful learning experience, as well as train children's focus and perseverance. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of natural materials in creative activities is effective as a learning strategy in early childhood education. The contribution of this research lies in strengthening empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of nature-based media as an innovative alternative that is environmentally friendly while also supporting the development of fine motor skills in early childhood.

Abstract

The main problem underlying this research is the low social behavior of early childhood children, demonstrated by a tendency to be individualistic, reluctant to share, less willing to cooperate, dominate games, and minimal empathy and concern for friends. This condition emphasizes the importance of implementing learning methods that can encourage active involvement of children while honing their social skills. This research aims to improve children's social behavior by implementing group work methods. The research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with the type of Classroom Action Research (CAR). This was carried out in two cycles, where each cycle includes the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were early childhood group B consisting of 14 children. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation which were then processed through qualitative descriptive analysis supported by simple quantitative data. The research findings indicate an increase in children's social behavior, especially in the aspects of cooperation, sharing, and helping each other. In the pre-action stage, most children were in the underdeveloped category, while in the second cycle most children had reached the category of developing as expected to developing very well. The results of this study confirm that the group work method is effective in improving the social behavior of early childhood children. This research contributes to the development of collaborative learning strategies that focus on strengthening children's social-emotional aspects from an early age.

Abstract

Early childhood learning media is very important to be prepared by teachers before learning activities begin. Without learning media as an introduction or intermediary, ongoing learning will not be interesting. The use of technology will make it very easy for teachers to prepare practical and interesting digital-based learning media. Creating digital-based learning media will allow teachers to be creative and innovate with various applications and devices provided by information technology. Learning or media created by utilizing digital-based learning provides a new revolution for teachers in the learning methods used. The digital media used include PowerPoint, Prezi, Canva, CapCut, and the Kahoot and Quizizz apps, making learning more enjoyable. Regular use of digital media can improve learning quality, as students become accustomed to learning in a more engaging, active, and independent manner. Furthermore, this method helps students develop 21st-century skills such as digital literacy, critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. This also makes it easier for teachers to assess, provide feedback, and adapt teaching methods to meet students' needs. The results of community service found a significant increase in teacher knowledge and skills with an average pre-test score of 61 and an average post-test score of 83. Abstract

The development of children’s religious values plays a fundamental role in shaping their character, particularly in helping children distinguish between good and bad behavior, understanding basic worship practices, and recognizing Islamic symbols from an early age. However, learning activities in early childhood education settings often lack reinforcement strategies that effectively engage children and sustain their motivation during religious learning. This study aims to analyze the role of implementing reward and punishment in strengthening religious values in early childhood education. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving 13 children aged 5–6 years. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that applying rewards and punishments in learning activities can increase children’s motivation, attention, discipline, and understanding of religious concepts. Three aspects showed improvement: recognition of Hijaiyah letters, performance of prayer movements, and knowledge of the Hijri months. Teachers implemented rewards such as praise, applause, and star stickers, while punishment was applied educationally through verbal reminders and task continuation. These results suggest that appropriately implemented reward and punishment strategies, combined with habituation practices, can effectively support the development of religious values in early childhood education settings.

Abstract

Background: The development of self-identity in early childhood is a crucial aspect that forms the foundation for self-confidence, independence, and social competence. Children with a well-developed self-identity tend to recognize themselves, understand their roles, and demonstrate positive behaviors in everyday interactions. Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of Senam Ceria (Joyful Exercise) on the development of self-identity among children aged 5–6 years. Method: The study employed a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 18 children from Group B as research participants. The observation instrument used in this study was validated by experts and demonstrated high reliability, with a Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of 0.87. Over a three-week period, the children participated in six sessions of Senam Ceria, which were designed to stimulate self-expression, cooperation, and social awareness. Result: The analysis revealed a significant improvement in self-identity scores, increasing from a mean score of 7.61 before the intervention to 8.94 after the intervention. The paired t-test results indicated that the calculated t-value (4.761) exceeded the critical t-value (1.73961), with a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that Senam Ceria had a statistically significant effect on children’s self-identity development. The novelty of this study lies in its focus on Senam Ceria, which has traditionally been used to enhance motor skills, but in this research is utilized as a medium for stimulating self-identity. These findings confirm that creative physical activities not only promote physical health but also effectively foster self-awareness, responsibility, and social behavior in children. Conclusion: In conclusion, this study provides an important contribution to early childhood education by demonstrating that Senam Ceria can be integrated as a learning strategy that supports the holistic development of children’s self-identity.
