Abstract

Stunting is a major nutritional problem in Indonesia. Children are chronically malnourished and appear too short. The causes of stunting problems are lack of knowledge and attitudes towards responsive feeding, lack of nutritional intake, and wrong parenting patterns for toddlers. This community service aims to increase the knowledge and attitudes of mothers about responsive feeding. The implementation of this community service through health promotion activity was counseling. This activity has been t in October 2021 at the At-Taqwa Mosque in Sangubanyu village, involving six mothers. The results of community service activities showed an increase in mothers' knowledge about responsive feeding from 66.7% to 100%. The mother's attitude increased after being given counseling from 33.3% to 66.7%. Efforts to increase knowledge and attitudes are providing education about responsive feeding counseling through program integration activities at the Aisyiyah Moyudan Primary Clinic. The outputs of community service activities carried out are in the form of a scientific article, an electronic media article on the website of the Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Yogyakarta, a booklet on responsive feeding, and an HKI booklet on responsive feeding. Abstract

The study aims to investigate the scientific evidence concerning breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding experiences among women with physical disabilities. Exclusive breastfeeding entails providing only breast milk to infants from birth to 6 months old, excluding any other food or drinks except medications and vitamins. However, breastfeeding is not halted after exclusive breastfeeding; it continues until the child is two years old. Utilising the scoping review method, the research employed the Population, Concept, and Context (PCC) framework. Six articles meeting the inclusion criteria were identified from a pool of 1,553 articles from PubMed, ScienceDirect, Wiley, and Research Rabbit databases. These articles shed light on the challenges, experiences, barriers, and support systems related to breastfeeding and childcare encountered by women with physical disabilities. The research on breastfeeding experiences among women with physical disabilities reveals both facilitators and barriers. Facilitators include adaptations, peer support, and necessary equipment, while barriers encompass insufficient support, health considerations, and milk production and latching challenges. These findings underscore the importance of tailored support and access to information for women with physical disabilities who aim to breastfeed effectively. Implementing such support mechanisms can contribute to improving breastfeeding rates among this demographic, thus promoting the health and well-being of both mothers and infants while addressing societal attitudes toward disability issues.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding begins within one hour after birth until the baby is six months old. Early initiation of breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding can help children survive and have antibodies to protect against common diseases, such as diarrhea and pneumonia. Breastfed children perform better on intelligence tests and are less likely to develop obesity and diabetes. This scoping review aims to review the evidence base regarding the effect of back massage on increasing milk production. Inclusion criteria: the criteria included in this review were Indonesian or English articles published within the last five years. These articles focused on the effect of back massage on increasing milk production. The method that will be used in this review is the scoping review technique, which is a systematic exploratory method by mapping the available literature in an article, topics, theories, and sources that have been obtained. The results of the study show that back massage can increase milk production. The most dominant factor in increasing milk production was in the group that did back massage, while the control group did not experience smooth milk production due to a lack of increase in milk production. Increased milk production can also be influenced by nutrition, rest, baby sucking, and breast care performed by the mother.

Abstract

Newborns are at risk of losing body heat after birth. According to UNICEF, the global infant mortality rate is still worrying, in Sub-Saharan Africa, of 29 deaths per 1,000 births. It means that 80% of deaths are caused by asphyxia, complications at birth, hypothermia, and sepsis. In Indonesia, the causes of death for newborns 0-6 days include respiratory disorders (36.9%), prematurity (32.4%), sepsis (12%), hypothermia (6.8%,) and jaundice (6.6%). Evidence suggests some technological interventions in preventing hypothermia in newborns, such as skin-to-skin contact between mother and baby. This study aimed to explore available technological evidence regarding the effectiveness of IMD in the prevention of hypothermia in newborns. The review is based on the integrative review method by following the modified design it consists of identifying topics, identifying problems/questions, collecting data with relevant evidence, evaluating data, analyzing, and interpreting data, concluding, and presenting results. PRISMA flow diagram is used to show the flow of evidence search. The results of the review included 10 articles. From the review, three facts were discovered, namely, EIB can increase temperature, increase breastfeeding levels, and increase low weight loss in the baby's first days. Infant mortality can be prevented with the role of trained health workers during ANC, delivery/postnatal, and EIB during the first/two hours of postpartum to prevent hypothermia.

Abstract

Introduction: Hyperemesis gravidarum refers to an extreme condition of nausea and vomiting that occurs during pregnancy. Nausea and vomiting that harm the mother differ from morning sickness, commonly experienced in early trimester pregnant women. Approximately 14.8% of pregnancies experience symptoms of nausea and vomiting, with occurrence rates ranging from 60-80% among first-time mothers (primigravidas) and 40-60% among women who have had multiple pregnancies (multigravidas). These symptoms become more severe in one in a thousand pregnancies. Purpose: This study aimed to systematically review Ginger's effectiveness compared to vitamin B6 in reducing hyperemesis gravidarum. Method: This is a systematic review of three databases (PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Willey online library). The PRISMA-ScR protocol was employed in this research review, utilizing a Population, Intervention, Comparison, and Outcome (PICO) framework. The population is first-trimester pregnant women who experience Hyperemesis gravidarum using a completely original research article comparing Ginger and vitamin B6 in reducing hyperemesis gravidarum. Results: A significant statistical distinction was observed between the Ginger and the vitamin B6 group concerning the nausea score (mean difference 0.63, CI -0.10-1.35) and vomiting score (mean difference 0.42, CI -0.13, 0.98). Conclusion: Based on the research results, there was no significant difference in the effectiveness of giving Ginger compared to vitamin B6 in reducing hyperemesis gravidarum. However, the analysis showed that the average score of giving Ginger was lower than vitamin B6. The lower the nausea or vomiting score, the better the effect of the intervention. Suggestion: Health workers (doctors and midwives) can use Ginger as an alternative to reduce hyperemesis gravidarum during early pregnancy.

Abstract

Background:Clinical practice learning is the most important part of health education programs. The limitation of the presence of students at hospitals to avoid exposure to covid-19 causes the lack of training received by studentsObjective:The purpose of this study was to systematically map the results of research on clinical practice learning methods carried out by health professional education as learning recommendations during the Covid-19 pandemic.Method:This research was conducted with a five-stage review process, starting with searching for articles through relevant databases, namely Pubmed, Science Direct and Wiley, and finding 11 articles relevant to the inclusion criteria that have been determined.Result:Based on the review results, several clinical learning methods were found using E-learning through video, telehealth collaboration, and simulation based learning. There are several advantages and disadvantages to using each of these methods. Not all of these methods can be used as an evaluation of the student learning process. E-learning through videos can be done as a learning innovation to provide opportunities for students for patients with specific learning objectives. Conclusion:In conclusion, in practice there are clinical experiences that cannot be included by any method. Therefore, the standardization of student competencies is fulfilled by the Midwife Competency Test. However, clinical learning strategies in midwifery education can be done through E-learning with video conference, telehealth collaboration, and combination simulation methods with case studies which have the effectiveness to achieve certain learning objectives according to each method. In practice, information technology can be used as an innovation in distance learning. The implementation of this learning strategy requires good support and cooperation between institutions for clinical practice locations and the education institutions. And, Infrastructures need to be prepared to support the clinical practice learning process.
