Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Climate Kids website as a learning medium on the scientific literacy skills of junior high school students on global warming material. This study was conducted at Yappida Islamic Junior High School with a sample of 30 students in each experimental class and control class. This research method used a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent control group design. This study concluded that the use of the Climate Kids website as a learning medium had an effect on the scientific literacy skills of junior high school students regarding global warming material. The results showed that the learning process had been carried out very well. The Mann-Whitney test was used to test the hypothesis and obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) result of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating the rejection of H₀ and acceptance of H₁, with the interpretation of a significant effect. The average pretest score of 39.87 increased to 80.47 in the posttest, indicating that the experimental class achieved an N-Gain score of 67.52% with a fairly effective criterion. The significant influence of the Climate Kids website as a learning tool on scientific literacy skills is evident from the effect size test, which yielded a result of 1.219, a high effect criterion. Furthermore, students responded very positively to the use of the Climate Kids website as a learning tool. This indicates that the Climate Kids website has a significant influence on students' scientific literacy skills.

Abstract

The low level of students’ ecoliteracy and the limited use of relevant teaching materials in science subjects, particularly in environmental topics, serve as the background of this study. To address these issues, the E-Module PELITA: Pembelajaran Lingkungan Untuk Indonesia Tangguh, based on ecopedagogical approach was developed as an alternative solution to foster students’ ecoliteracy. The primary objective of this research was to examine the validity of the developed product and to assess students' responses toward the ecopedagogical-based E-Module PELITA as an effort to enhance ecoliteracy. This research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method by adapting the ADDIE development model, limited to three stages: Analyze, Design, and Development. Product validity testing was carried out through questionnaires administered to subject matter experts, media experts, and science teachers. Meanwhile, a small-scale trial was conducted to collect students’ responses through a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using both quantitative descriptive and qualitative approaches to provide insights into the feasibility and acceptance of the product. The findings revealed that the ecopedagogical-based E-Module PELITA achieved an overall validity level of 90.07%, categorized as “highly valid.” Specifically, assessments were provided by subject matter experts with an average score of 91.19%, media experts with 90.15%, and science teachers with 88.89%. In addition, students’ responses to the use of the module reached a score of 83.08%, categorized as “very well”.

Abstract

Lack of student understanding of learning materials often results in low learning outcomes. Therefore, selecting the right learning model is an important factor in achieving learning objectives, because it can help students understand the material more deeply. One approach that is considered effective and innovative is the Learning Cycle Type 7E model. This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the Learning Cycle Type 7E model on students' critical thinking skills on the concept of Changes in Substances in Daily Life. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design, which was carried out in one of the Public Junior High Schools in Serang City. The research sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique, consisting of 36 students in the experimental class and 36 students in the control class. Data collection was carried out using a test instrument in the form of HOTS (High Order Thinking Skills) questions that had passed validity and reliability tests. The results showed that the application of the Learning Cycle Type 7E model had a significant effect on improving the critical thinking skills of eighth grade students on the concept of changes in substances in daily life. Based on the results of the Independent Sample T-Test, a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of <0.001 was obtained, which is smaller than 0.05. In addition, the results of Group Statistics show that the average pre-test score of the experimental class was 37.54, while the control class was 34.78. Meanwhile, the average post-test score of the experimental class reached 41.51, higher than the control class which obtained an average of 36.59. These findings indicate that the Learning Cycle Type 7E model is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Current learning requires critical thinking skills, but the problem arises that students do not yet have critical thinking skills. Meanwhile, teachers have not created learning that can develop students' critical thinking skills. This is due to limited time in delivering very dense material. The lack of critical thinking skills can be addressed through learning activities that make students actively involved, namely by using E-LKPD. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of validity and readability of students towards E-LKPD based on critical thinking skills. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation). Data were obtained through observation, interviews, validation, and student readability tests. The results of the study based on experts obtained a percentage of 92.02% with a very valid category and for the readability test obtained a result of 88% with a very good category. From the results of the validation and readability test, it can be concluded that the development of E-LKPD based on critical thinking skills is proven to be very valid and has very good readability.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of use of learning media, especially audio-visual media that is more interesting, so that students have difficulty in understanding the material on the theme of my life Technology and the lack of digital literacy. The purpose of the study is to describe the level of validity of the Science Learning video on the theme of my life technology in fostering students' interest in learning and digital literacy and to describe the level of student response related to the Science learning video on the theme of my life Technology in fostering students' interest in learning and digital literacy. The method used is research and development (ADDIE). The research instruments used in this study are interviews, validation sheets and student response level instruments. In this development, it is limited only to development. The results of the study show the level of validity of the Science Learning video on the theme of my life technology in fostering students' interest in learning and digital literacy with a very valid category, amounting to 93.53% with details, from media expert validators of 92.5% with a very valid category, material expert validators of 90.41% with a very valid category science teacher expert validators of 95.83% with a very valid category and student response level of 91.9% with the strongly agree category. The learning interest indicator scored 94.5% with the very good category, and digital literacy scored 93.76% with the very good category.

Abstract

Kemampuan kognitif siswa merupakan tujuan utama dari upaya adanya pendidikan yang sangat penting sekali untuk dimiliki. Salah satu faktor rendahnya hasil kemampuan kognitif siswa yang terjadi di lapangan disebabkan oleh kurangnya penggunaan media pembelajaran yang tepat. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media Pop-Up Book berbantuan Magic Card terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa pada materi Sistem Tata Surya. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MTs Al-Khairiyah Pontang menggunakan 2 kelas yaitu kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen dengan masing-masing 30 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain yang dipakai Quasy Experimental dengan menggunakan rancangan Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Hasil Uji Independent Sample T-Test yang telah dilakukan untuk menguji hipotesis, mendapatkan hasil Sig. (2-tailed) bernilai 0,000 (<0,05), yang menunjukkan penolakan terhadap H₀ dan penerimaan H₁ dengan interpretasi adanya pengaruh signifikan. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan media Pop-Up Book Berbantuan Magic Card terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa. Nilai rata-rata pretest kelas eksperimen 31 dan nilai rata-rata posttest 83. Nilai rata-rata pretest kelas kontrol 27 dan nilai rata-rata posttest 73. Nilai N-Gain sebesar 75,02% dengan kriteria cukup efektif. Hasil angket respon siswa sebesar 82%.

Abstract

The test instrument currently used by teachers is only a single-level multiple-choice test. The use of a single-level multiple-choice test instrument is still less able to indicate students' conceptual understanding because it is easy to answer by guessing. The Four Tier Multiple Test instrument has a format that is equipped with the level of confidence of answers and reasons, challenging students to be confident in choosing answers. This study aims to describe the level of validity of the Four Tier Multiple Test instrument and to describe the level of student response to the Four Tier Multiple Test instrument. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation & Evaluation) development model. The data collection instruments used in this study were validation questionnaires and student response questionnaires. This study involved 85 ninth-grade students as respondents to describe the level of student response to the Four Tier Multiple Test instrument. The level of validity of the Four Tier Multiple Test instrument as assessed by material expert validators was 94.38% (very valid), media expert validators 97.05% (very valid), evaluation expert validators 91.05% (very valid) and science teacher validators 88.99% (very valid). The level of student response to the Four Tier Multiple Test instrument was 84.83%, in the very good category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasarkan pada fakta bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa masih minim selama proses pembelajaran di sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi lembar kerja siswa elektronik (E-LKPD) menggunakan pendekatan ilmiah pada tema Peran Bioteknologi dalam Diversifikasi Pangan untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat respons siswa terhadap implementasi E-LKPD dengan pendekatan ilmiah ini. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah desain pretest-posttest satu kelompok. Penelitian ini dilakukan di 5 sekolah, yaitu MTs Yaumin Cikande (Sekolah 1), SMPIT Syifa Fikriya Cikande (Sekolah 2), SMPN 7 Cilegon (Sekolah 3), SMPN 2 Kota Serang (Sekolah 4), dan SMPN 1 Cikande (Sekolah 5). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi E-LKPD dengan pendekatan ilmiah untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas sembilan memiliki tingkat implementasi sebesar 90,24% untuk Sekolah 1, 90,21% untuk Sekolah 2, 90,75% untuk Sekolah 3, 91,55% untuk Sekolah 4, dan 91,55% untuk Sekolah 5. Kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa adalah 71,16 di Sekolah 1, 81,2 di Sekolah 2, 75,57 di Sekolah 3, 73,89 di Sekolah 4, dan 76,85 di Sekolah 5. Tingkat respons siswa terhadap implementasi E-LKPD dengan pendekatan ilmiah pada tema Peran Bioteknologi dalam Diversifikasi Pangan adalah 76,33% di Sekolah 1, 85,85% di Sekolah 2, 76,63% di Sekolah 3, 77,76% di Sekolah 4, dan 79,45% di Sekolah 5.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya literasi Bioteknologi siswa menjadi tantangan dalam pembelajaran abad ke-21, terutama pada materi Bioteknologi yang masih terkendala keterbatasan alat, bahan, dan waktu praktikum di laboratorium. Salah satu solusi yang dapat diterapkan adalah pengembangan virtual laboratory isolasi DNA Kokoleceran sebagai tanaman endemik Banten untuk melatih literasi Bioteknologi siswa kelas IX. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat validitas virtual laboratory dan tingkat respon siswa terhadap virtual laboratory yang dikembangkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research & Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, & Evaluation). Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa lembar angket validasi dan angket respon siswa. Tingkat validitas produk diukur menggunakan lemar angket validasi ahli yang divalidasi oleh tiga dosen ahli materi, tiga dosen ahli media, dan tiga guru mata pelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini melibatkan 75 siswa kelas IX sebagai responden untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat respon siswa terhadap virtual laboratory. Tingkat validitas virtual laboratory yang dinilai oleh validator ahli materi sebesar 84,42% dengan kategori valid, ahli media 81,94% dengan kategori valid, dan guru IPA 96,11% dengan kategori sangat valid. Tingkat respon siswa memperoleh sebesar 88,63% dengan kategori sangat baik.

Abstract

Praktikum IPA di laboratorium adalah satu bentuk pembelajaran yang dapat dilakukan agar peserta didik dapat terfasilitasi dalam memahami pelajaran serta memberikan pengalaman langsung dalam melakukan kegiatan ilmiah. IPA merupakan mata pelajaran yang sebaiknya mampu melatihkan kemampuan tingkat tinggi pada peserta didik, mampu mengonstruksi pemahamannya sendiri secara terbimbing oleh guru melalui kegiatan praktikum. Di masa pandemi ini, kegiatan praktikum IPA menjadi tidak dapat dilaksanakan secara langsung oleh peserta didik di laboratorium. Era Revolusi Industri 4.0 dan tuntutan pendidikan berupa keterampilan di abad 21 menjadi momentum penting bagi guru Madrasah untuk membekali dirinya supaya menjadi fasilitator yang terampil dan handal dalam mengiringi terbentuknya keterampilan dasar bereksperimen dan kerja ilmiah peserta didik. Tujuan dilakukannya kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk mendampingi guru IPA Madrasah kota Serang dalam membuat Virtual Laboratory IPA. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian dilakukan dengan memberikan Workshop penyusunan perangkat Virtual Laboratory IPA dan pendampingan pembuatan Virtual Laboratory yang menunjang praktikum IPA selama masa pandemi. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan pendampingan pembuatan Virtual Laboratory IPA bagi guru IPA Madrasah kota Serang menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pendampingan pembuatan Virtual Laboratory sangat efektif membantu guru IPA Madrasah kota Serang dalam membuat Virtual Laboratory yang menunjang praktikum IPA.
