Abstract

The use of prohibited food additives such as formalin is still often found, especially in the school environment. In fact, based on the 2012 Minister of Health Regulation No. 033, formalin is prohibited as a food additive. This phenomenon requires people to be quite observant in choosing food tools. In addition, many people think that the formalin content test can only be done through the laboratory, the formalin test can also be done by a simple reagent containing anthocyanin on dragon fruit skin. So, the researchers designed a simple STEAM-based media with a natural formaldehyde-detecting ingredient, namely red dragon fruit peel extract. This design is divided into two parts, namely the design of simple steam-based media and the manufacture of natural dragon fruit peel extract to detect the content of formaldehyde additives in food. The design was carried out by Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 6 Jember. The final tool produced is a detector marker.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the characteristics of STEM-based teaching materials and to find out the increase in scientific literacy skills of junior high school students. The method used in this research is research and development. The design of this study uses the ADDIE model, with the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The trial design used the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The test subjects were class VII SMP Walisongo Mayang. The characteristics of this integrated STEM-based textbook and local potential contain material on temperature and heat, complemented by student environmental events as well as practicum procedures and project creation related to STEM aspects for students. The results of the validity of the textbooks developed by the validator show very valid criteria, with the results of the feasibility test using a student response questionnaire showing textbooks included in the practical category and good for students. As well as the results of the effectiveness of textbooks show that they can improve students' scientific literacy skills which are marked by an increase in pretest to posttest scores (t-test value 25,668 and n-gain 0.77). Developing textbooks for students makes it possible to develop them more broadly with STEM development as well as the problems and challenges faced by students in the surrounding environment.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective problem-solving-based e-module on the material of the human body organ system. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the 4D model. The problem-solving-based e-module shows high validity of 91.4%. The developed e-module gets an average percentage of 87.5% with a very practical category in the small class trial and 88.6% in the large class and is declared practical. The e-module developed in the small class gets a learning outcome test and critical thinking skills with an average n-gain score of 0.76 and 0.77 with a high category. In the large class, it gets a learning outcome test and critical thinking skills with an average n-gain score of 0.75 and 0.78 with a high category. Very good criteria are also obtained in filling out the student response questionnaire by producing an average percentage of 87% in the small class and an average percentage of 86% in the large class. Thus, the problem-solving-based e-module on the material of the human body organ system is considered feasible to be used in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Google Sites-based digital learning media integrated with EduCanva to improve students' collaboration skills in agro industrial schools. The research method uses a research and development design with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through validation sheets, questionnaires, tests, interviews, and observations, then analyzed based on validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Expert validation results showed a percentage of 97.22% from subject matter experts, 84.375% from media experts, and 84.375% from learning experts in the highly valid category. The practicality test obtained a 100% response from teachers and a 92.29% response from students, both of which were categorized as very practical. The effectiveness test showed an increase in learning outcomes with an N-gain value of 0.53 (moderate category) and an increase in student collaboration skills of 11.38% from cycle I to cycle II, which was categorized as fair to good. These findings prove that Google Sites-based learning media integrated with EduCanva is feasible, practical, and effective for use in learning. The novelty of this research lies in the combination of two digital platforms that are rarely studied in the context of biology learning in agro industrial areas. This media not only improves conceptual understanding but also strengthens collaboration skills as an important 21st-century competency.
