Abstract

This study examined the effectiveness of a microlearning-based science module in enhancing students' conceptual understanding and self-regulated learning (SRL). Employing a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design, 32 secondary students were equally assigned to experimental (microlearning) and control (conventional instruction) groups. Data were collected through validated conceptual understanding tests, SRL questionnaires, and delayed post-tests to measure retention. Descriptive results showed the experimental group consistently outperformed the control group across all measures, achieving higher mean scores in conceptual understanding (M = 81.38, SD = 6.41 vs. 72.06, SD = 6.87), SRL (M = 82.25 vs. 71.81), and retention (M = 78.94 vs. 69.13). Inferential analysis revealed significant differences in overall conceptual understanding (t = 3.21, p = 0.003) with a large effect size (Cohen's d = 0.80), as well as across specific indicators of basic concepts, conceptual application, and scientific reasoning. These findings indicate that microlearning effectively supports deeper conceptual understanding, learner autonomy, and long-term retention by reducing cognitive load and enabling flexible, self-paced learning, positioning it as a promising instructional approach for strengthening science education quality at the secondary level.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an e-magazine learning media on the topic of rights and obligations for fourth-grade students at Sekolah Dasar Negeri Ciheuleut 1. The research used a Research and Development (R&D) approach with 24 students as subjects in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The research process included needs analysis, curriculum analysis, student analysis, product design, expert validation, and media trials. The validation results from media experts, language experts, and material experts showed that the e-magazine media is feasible to use with an average percentage of 90.25%. The media trial received positive responses from students with an average percentage of 92%. The effectiveness of the media was demonstrated by an increase in pre-test scores from 47% to post-test scores of 85%, with a gain score of 75%, indicating the media is quite effective. In conclusion, the developed e-magazine learning media is valid, attractive, easy to use, and suitable for students to learn about rights and obligations.

Abstract

Hasil belajar peserta didik kelas IV di SDN Ciheleut 2 masih tergolong rendah salah satunya karena penerapan berbagai pendekatan pembelajaran yang tidak digunakan, membuat peserta didik sulit memahami materi pelajaran dengan baik, yang membuat ketuntasan tujuan pembelajaran belum tercapai, sehingga pencapaian hasil belajar belum optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan STEAM terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik materi keragaman budaya Indonesia di kelas IV SDN Ciheuleut 2 Kota Bogor. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu quasi eksperimen. Subyek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas IV A dan IV B dengan jumlah 48 peserta didik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret di SDN 2 Kota Bogor kelas IV A dan IV B Semester Genap Tahun Pelajaran 2024/2025. Hasil perhitungan N-Gain pendekatan STEAM sebesar 75 dengan ketuntasan hasil belajar 84,62%, nilai N-Gain pendekatan Saintifik sebesar 64 dengan ketuntasan hasil belajar 77,27%. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa thitung (2,79046) > ttabel (2,01290), maka H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Sehingga dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penerapan pendekatan STEAM terhadap hasil belajar materi keragaman budaya Indonesia. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pengetahuan baru mengenai penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran STEAM yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik.
