Abstract

This study aims to analyze the competence of school counselors in understanding non-cognitive diagnostic assessment instruments. Non-cognitive diagnostic assessments play a crucial role in evaluating students' psychosocial aspects, such as attitudes, motivation, and social skills, which can influence their development and academic performance. This research adopts a quantitative approach with a descriptive design, involving 22 school counselors from public senior high schools and vocational schools in Rembang Regency, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire measuring the counselors' understanding of non-cognitive diagnostic assessment instruments and their skills in applying them. The analysis reveals that the competence of school counselors in understanding these non-cognitive diagnostic assessment instruments varies across schools, with the average competence falling within the moderate category (49%). Some schools, such as Vocational School A, demonstrated higher competence, while Senior High School A showed lower understanding. This study recommends the need for continuous training for school counselors to enhance their understanding and application of non-cognitive diagnostic assessments, as well as the importance of school policy support in developing counselors' competencies. These findings contribute to the development of more effective guidance and counseling services that can better support students' psychosocial well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perception of coastal women in Bintan towards marine sediment cleaning and utilization activities and identify the ecological and socio-economic impacts caused, as well as formulate the need for a mitigation model based on Collaborative Counseling Guidance. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach enriched by quantitative data through the distribution of questionnaires to 35 coastal mothers who were selected purposively. Data were obtained through field observations, structured and semi-structured interviews, and questionnaires developed based on ecological, socio-economic, and psychosocial impact indicators. Data analysis is carried out through descriptive statistics and thematic analysis and enriched with integrative conceptual analysis to connect empirical findings with theoretical frameworks. The results of the study show that sedimentation activities cause an increase in water turbidity and a decrease in catches, which has a direct impact on the economic instability of fishery families. Despite this, coastal mothers show high adaptive resilience through adjustment of household economic strategies and readiness to seek alternative sources of income. Overall, the findings of the study confirm the need for a Collaborative BK model that is able to provide psychosocial support and economic empowerment as a multidimensional mitigation strategy for coastal families in Bintan.

Abstract

The development of social media has had a significant impact on adolescents' lives, one of which is addiction to using TikTok, which disrupts self-control, decreases productivity, and affects academic and social balance. This condition demands appropriate intervention strategies, one of which is through group counseling services based on Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) with Self-Control techniques. This study aims to determine the effect of group counseling with a CBT approach using Self-Control techniques in reducing TikTok social media addiction among class X.E.1 students at SMAN 2 Lintau Buo. The research used a quantitative method with a one- group pretest-posttest experimental design. The research population was 32 students, with a purposive sample of 10 people. The instrument was a Likert-scale TikTok addiction scale consisting of 32 valid items. The analysis results showed a significant effect of group counseling services with self-control techniques on reducing TikTok addiction. The t-test value indicated the alternative hypothesis was accepted, while the N-gain test resulted in an average of 0.31, which falls into the medium category. Thus, group counseling with a CBT approach using self-control techniques is proven effective in reducing TikTok social media addiction among students. These findings provide practical implications for school counselors in designing interventions to help students manage social media use more healthily and productively. In addition, this study provides a theoretical contribution to the development of counseling research, particularly by enriching CBT-based and self-control intervention models for addressing digital media addiction among adolescents

Abstract

Abstract

The main objective of this study was to identify the social anxiety and subjective well-being of Acehnese students living abroad in Bandung City, and to design a gratitude-based community counseling service program to address these issues. This study employed an interpretive paradigm with descriptive qualitative methods and a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, with data sources coming from the Chairperson, Members, and Alumni of the PANGLIMA community. The results of the study showed that the social anxiety experienced by Acehnese students living away from home varied, characterized by difficulty adapting, feelings of inferiority, fear of being judged negatively, language barriers, and a tendency to withdraw from social interactions.Factors influencing this anxiety include cultural and language differences, academic pressure, and self-perception of their hometown. Students' subjective well-being also varied from low to moderate, with some reporting limited life satisfaction and positive emotions. Factors influencing subjective well-being include social support from family and community, academic achievement, and the ability to manage negative emotions such as loneliness and stress. A gratitude-based community counseling program was designed to address these issues, emphasizing self-reflection, gratitude training, communal prayer, and strengthening social support. This program is expected to reduce social anxiety levels while improving subjective well-being among students living away from home.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of the quality of Islamic guidance and counseling services and peer groups on self-awareness in overcoming academic procrastination. This issue is relevant considering that academic procrastination remains a challenge among students, characterized by a tendency to postpone assignments and prioritize less relevant activities. This study used a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The population and sample were 36 students of SMAN 1 Dayeuhkolot identified as having academic procrastination behavior. The results of the study indicate that the quality of Islamic guidance and counseling services (X1) and peer support (X2) partially and simultaneously have a significant influence on self-awareness in overcoming academic procrastination (Y). The significance values found for both variables (0.00 and 0.000) are less than 0.05, which confirms that the research hypothesis is accepted. The magnitude of the influence of these two independent variables on the dependent variable is 76.3%. This means that 76.3% of the increase in students' self-awareness can be explained by the quality of Islamic guidance and counseling services and support from the peer support environment. The remainder (23.7%) is influenced by other factors outside the study. The conclusion of this study is that strengthening the quality of Islamic guidance and counseling services and creating a positive peer environment are effective strategies for increasing students' self-awareness and, ultimately, overcoming academic procrastination.
