Abstract

Breadfruit chips are an example of post-harvest processing of breadfruit yields. Generally, breadfruit is only sold in the market in its raw form which has many drawbacks such as low selling price, and short shelf life, the fruit is easily damaged during the transportation process until rot occurs in the fruit. Processing breadfruit into breadfruit chips can help increase the profit margins you get. Breadfruit also has a certain harvest period or what is known as a seasonal plant can quickly experience decay so that post-harvest processing is deemed necessary to keep the product able to have a long shelf life. Tenggir Village, Panji District, Situbondo Regency is one of the villages with a relatively large number of breadfruit trees. Villagers already have the desire and enthusiasm to use the breadfruit by processing it into breadfruit chips. There is a need for community service to empower village potential and design solutions that will be offered to the community. The purpose of this program is to provide alternative solutions for simple postharvest processing of agricultural products and increase the production capacity of the breadfruit chips home industry. The result of implementing this program is an increase in one of the breadfruit chip processing home industries with indicators of increasing production capacity and business turnover. Greater support in science and finance could be scaled up to support more targeted and significant business development.

Abstract

Sekotong is one of the important destinations in Lombok which is frequently visited by local and foreign tourists. Considering this presence of these tourists, the community who live Sekotong can start up new business fields, for instance accommodation, food and beverage, and tour guide services, and transports for the tourists who visit the small islands located in Sekotong. This Community Service aims to provide Practical English Conversation Application Assistance for Local Guides and boatmen in Sekotong District, Lombok Regency including conversations about Welcome Tourists, Introducing to Tours, Explaining Safety, Rules, Etiquette, Showing Places of Interest, aspects of Tour vocabulary Guide Vocabulary, and examples of Tour Guide Speech recordings. This Community Service was carried out using a participatory method so that all participants could get involved in the learning, from planning, implementation, to the evaluation stage. This community service has brought positive effect, especially to boatmen and all participants in general. They have shown better English skills than before. It is hoped that the boatmen will become more confident in using English skills when dealing with foreign tourists.

Abstract

Healthy snack-making is a home-based business that many people in Gorontalo Regency engage in. The significant demand for such snacks presents a promising business opportunity. With stiff competition, it's necessary for these businesses to continuously strive for innovation and breakthroughs to ensure their products remain in high demand with consumers. The aim of this initiative is to enhance the local community's understanding of managing their business in a professional, creative and innovative way, and to broaden the exposure of their products in the market. The aim of this initiative is to enhance the local community's understanding of managing their business in a professional, creative and innovative way, and to broaden the exposure of their products in the market. These objectives will be achieved through a range of community service activities such as lectures, practical demonstrations of fruit soup preparation, step-by-step guidance, and assessment. The community service project was well received by the partners, as evidenced by their active participation in all stages of the initiative. Both partners benefitted from this activity, particularly in the areas of marketing, business management, and capacity building.

Abstract

Aquaculture business, especially tilapia cultivation in Mojorejo village, did not run as expected due to low fish production and limited community knowledge regarding cultivation techniques. Some of the problems faced by the cultivator group are that the fishery business has not been well programmed because there is no socialization of business potential in the fishery sector, effective tilapia cultivation techniques are not yet known, and assistance is needed related to aquaculture management to be able to optimize tilapia aquaculture production. So that the main goal in this community service activity is to increase the productivity of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) cultivation through transfer of biofloc technology (BFT) to support strengthening the independence of Mojorejo village, Junrejo District, Batu city. The methods used include surveys and site reviews, BFT socialization and training, BFT transfers, and periodic assistance. The results obtained in this activity are that partners understand the basic principles of tilapia aquaculture with the BFT system, partners understand input and output settings in tilapia cultivation with the BFT system, partners can culture biofloc bacteria, partners can know the C:N ratio in aquaculture ponds and partners can cultivate with the BFT system so that added value to production is increasing.

Abstract

Sekotong adalah salah satu daerah dengan potensi besar dalam budidaya kepiting bakau. Namun, dalam praktiknya, para pembudidaya sering menghadapi kendala dalam pemanfaatan sumber daya pakan yang efektif dan berkelanjutan. Oleh karena itu, program sosialisasi teknik pembuatan tepung ikan di Desa Sekotong bertujuan untuk memberdayakan para pembudidaya kepiting bakau melalui pengenalan metode efisien dalam pengelolaan pakan, serta peningkatan pengetahuan terkait pemanfaatan sumber daya ikan lokal, khususnya ikan rucah. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah survei kegiatan pendahuluan, pelatihan, workshop, demonstrasi praktis, monitoring dan evaluasi. Kegiatan diikuti oleh beberapa stakeholder: pembudidaya kepiting bakau, dosen dan mahasiswa Unram, dosen dan mahasiswa Unair, serta remaja setempat. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah masyarakat pembudidaya kepiting bakau dapat memahami, menjelaskan, dan membuat tepung ikan rucah secara mandiri. Sosialisasi teknik pembuatan tepung ikan di Desa Sekotong, Lombok Barat, telah memberikan dampak positif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan para pembudidaya kepiting bakau. Untuk menjaga keberlanjutan program, disarankan adanya pengembangan lebih lanjut terhadap jejaring kerjasama antarpetani, serta pendampingan lanjutan dalam menghadapi perubahan lingkungan dan pasar.

Abstract

Salah satu upaya dalam menyelesaikan persoalan penuruan harga jual ikan nila pada musim-musim tertentu dengan melakukan inovasi pada ikan nila yaitu melakukan pengolahan ikan nila menjadi bakso. Oleh karena itu dilakukan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui keberhasilan pelatihan dan pendampingan kelompok dalam upaya menumbuhkan motivasi usaha bakso ikan nila pada rumah tanggapembudidaya. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini merupakan Program Kerja Utama KKN Universitas Mataram Desa Sigerongan yang dilaksanakan empat tahapan, yaitu: tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan dan pendampingan kelompok cukup berhasil meningkatkan motivasi usaha bakso ikan nila pada rumah tangga pembudidaya di Desa Siregongan.Pelatihan dan pendampingan kelompok merupakan teknik yang efektif dalam menumbuhkan motivasi usaha bakso ikan nila dan mempu meningkatkan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta sebesar 66.7 – 75 % dari sebelum dilakukan transfer pengetahuan dan praktek langsung teknologi pengolahan bakso ikan nila. Dengan demikian, perlunya peran berbagai stakeholder khusunya Pemerintah Kabupaten Lombok Barat untuk senantiasa melakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan kelompok pada rumah tangga pembudidaya dalam upaya menumbuhkan motivasi usaha bakso ikan secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The Mekar Sari Women Farmers Group (KWT) was formed in 2018 with 15 members, with a productive economic business processing Robusta coffee into ground coffee, because coffee is one of the products produced by farmers in Tulungrejo Village, Ngantang District, Malang Regency. However, this KWT institution still needs strengthening with indications that only a few members are active. In addition, processed coffee products have not been managed seriously, production is only limited to meeting local level customer demands. Seeing this condition, the lecturers' scheme of service in the village of origin is concerned with strengthening KWT institutions and processed coffee products, especially in terms of packaging and marketing, by utilizing digital platforms (social media). Institutional strengthening of KWT is important as an effort to sustain the KWT business, especially from an economic standpoint to increase the income of women in Tulungrejo Village. The sustainability of this business is strongly supported by strong social capital, meaning that there is a close relationship between social capital and business continuity (Handayani, 2007). This institutional strengthening is carried out with lectures, informal discussions by inviting speakers from KWT who are more advanced as a source of inspiration for KWT Mekar Sari. Meanwhile, interventions from the marketing side were carried out to expand the market for Robusta coffee products by utilizing social media networks. Intervention in the form of packaging is carried out as an attraction for consumers, considering that so far packaging is still very simple

Abstract

Implementation of community service regarding plant breeding was carried out in Sumbersalak Village, Ledokombo District with the Kenconowungu farmer group. The activities in this service program are to provide knowledge and understanding related to rice plant breeding. Breeding is carried out by crossing rice plants with the aim of producing superior rice varieties in accordance with the problems of farmers in Sumbersalak village. To improve theoretical mastery of the material, the method used is through material presentation activities, discussion sessions and evaluation. To facilitate the transfer of mastery of plant crossing skills in the field to target farmers, the direct practice method is used. The results of the service evaluation show that all target audiences have experienced a change in mastery of knowledge from not knowing and not understanding to knowing and understanding how to cross rice plants

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di pengurus Posyandu Mentimun, Kelurahan Teluk, Kabupaten Banyumas yang merupakan wadah pelayanan kesehatan dan gizi balita. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan wawasan tambahan bagi pengurus Posyandu dan juga untuk membantu memasyarakatkan program Gerakan Makan Ikan (Gemarikan), sehingga dalam memberikan makanan tambahan (PMT) lebih bervariatif dan mempunyai nilai gizi yang baik serta mengandung protein hewani. Metode yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu penyuluhan secara insidental secara luring mengikuti jadwal pertemuan rutin pengurus posyandu. Tahapan yang dilakukan diawali dengan melakukan pre test untuk mengetahui wawasan pengurus sebelum diberikan materi, selanjutnya dilakukan pemberian materi pentingnya inovasi PMT berbasis ikani dan tahapan terakhir dari kegiatan ini yaitu dilakukan post test untuk mengetahui daya serap terhadap materi yang telah diberikan. Antusiasme pengurus sangat terlihat dengan keaktifan saat diskusi. Berdasarkan hasil nilai rekapitulasi nilai, terjadi peningkatan sebesar 35% dengan nilai keseluruhan diatas 80, sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa pengurus telah mampu mencerna dengan baik materi yang telah disampaikan.

Abstract

Curahpoh Village is an important part of the Bondowoso Coffee Republic. Curahpoh Village coffee farmers who are members of LMDH Argo Santoso cultivate Robusta Coffee and Arabica Coffee. However, the limited resources owned by farmers mean that coffee farming in Curahpoh Village has not received optimal results. The quality of the coffee products produced is also not supported by appropriate processing technology. Farmers usually only process coffee dry (natural process) because it is simpler. Processed coffee is also generally harvested and not sorted properly. Efforts to increase agricultural productivity are efforts that must be carried out in an integrated manner from upstream to downstream and sustainably. This community service program aims to increase the willingness and skills of farmers in managing coffee farming, especially related to post-harvest. The community service program educated LMDH Argo Santoso farmers to sort the fruit so that the coffee cherries that will be processed are coffee that is at least 95% ripe and has no defects. The coffee cherries that have been sorted are then directed to be processed using the honey method. Sensory evaluation of natural and various honey-processed coffee showed that about 90% of the farmers prefer honey method to natural method. Farmers are also trained to make organic fertilizer from dried coffee husks that are abundance in Curahpoh village. Hopefully, this service program will stimulate the farmers to implement good practices of coffee sorting, processing methods, and waste management.
