Abstract

This study aimed to describe the Market Day activity as an implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) in fostering elementary students’ character. The research was conducted at SD Khazanah Ilmu, focusing on fifth-grade students who actively participated in the activity. The observed character aspects included responsibility, cooperation, confidence, and initiative throughout the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through direct observation and documentation, including sales reports, student worksheets, and teachers’ notes. Data were analyzed thematically to identify patterns of attitudes and behaviors reflecting character development. The findings indicated that the Market Day activity effectively fostered students’ character. Students demonstrated improved responsibility in fulfilling group roles, enhanced cooperation in completing tasks, increased confidence in communicating while offering products, and stronger initiative in decision-making when facing challenges. With consistent teacher guidance, students understood that the activity was not merely about buying and selling but also a meaningful learning experience. In conclusion, Market Day is a viable experiential learning strategy for character education in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study analyzed the implementation of a character education program at SD Negeri 24, Pontianak Kota District. The focus included the role of the principal, policy substance, communication strategies, implementation by teachers and students, and the achievement of program goals. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed that: (1) the principal acted as a policy initiator through the flagship program “7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children,” collaboratively developed; (2) the character education policy integrated values such as religiosity, discipline, honesty, cooperation, independence, courage, creativity, and environmental awareness into various school activities; (3) program communication was effectively conducted through coordination meetings, WhatsApp groups, and school social media; (4) teachers and students actively participated as implementers through daily habituation and classroom learning; and (5) the program successfully fostered positive student behavior despite challenges in monitoring digital device usage. The study recommends maintaining implementation consistency, enhancing teacher capacity, and strengthening collaboration with parents to optimize character education in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine whether the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model affects fifth-grade students’ critical thinking skills in Pancasila Education at SDN 1 Leming. The research employed a quantitative pre-experimental approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The sample consisted of 33 fifth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using tests and observations. Data normality was tested using the Shapiro–Wilk test at a significance level of ? = 0.05, indicating that the data were normally distributed. The results showed an increase in the mean score from 55.97 (pretest) to 76.79 (posttest). Hypothesis testing using the paired samples t-test (SPSS version 25) indicated that tcalculated > ttable (?8.132 > ?1.694) and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. These findings indicate that the Problem-Based Learning model has a significant effect on improving students’ critical thinking skills. In conclusion, the PBL model is effective in enhancing critical thinking skills in Pancasila Education among fifth-grade elementary students.

Abstract

This study aimed to explain teachers’ perspectives on the use of concrete media in teaching whole numbers at the elementary school level. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that teachers believe concrete media help students understand abstract concepts, improve concentration, and enhance learning engagement. However, teachers also face several challenges, such as limited teaching aids, time constraints, and difficulties in helping students transfer understanding from concrete objects to mathematical symbols. To address these challenges, teachers utilize simple and readily available materials, plan lessons carefully, and involve students in the creation and use of the learning media. In conclusion, while concrete media are perceived as effective in supporting mathematics learning, their optimal implementation requires adequate resources, proper planning, and active student involvement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh media Uno stacko terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar IPAS siswa di kelas V MIS Muhammadiyah 2 Singkawang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif adapun metode penelitian ini berupa Pre-Experimental design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 24 siswa. Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan teknik tes dan non tes. Instrumen tes berupa lembar tes hasil belajar ranah kognitif pre-test dan post-test dengan bentuk pilihan ganda yang masing-masing soal berjumlah 10 soal pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia. Instrumen  non  tes  berupa  lembar  angket  respon  siswa.  Teknik  analisis  data  yang  digunakan menggunakan uji dependent paired sampel t-test, N-Gain, dan persentase angket respon siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) terdapat pengaruh media Uno stacko terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar IPAS siswa dengan nilai t-hitung > t-tabel yaitu 6,811 > 2,068; (2) terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar siswa kelas V setelah diterapkan media Uno stacko dengan hail N-Gain sebesar 0,43 kriteria sedang; (3) respon siswa terhadap media Uno stacko yang diterapkan dalam pembelajaran mendapatkan hasil persentase sebesar 86% dengan kriteria sangat baik. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh media pembelajaran Uno stacko terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar IPAS kelas V SD.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of implementing Game-Based Learning on students’ interest and understanding in Indonesian language learning, particularly on the topic of describing plants and animals in the surrounding environment both orally and in writing. The research used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach involving Grade IIIB students at SD Islam Al-Chusnaini. Data were collected through observation and analysis of Sumatif Tengah Semester (STS) report documents. The findings show that the implementation of Game-Based Learning had a positive impact on student learning outcomes. Most students achieved scores above 85, with an average score of 91.3. The success of this method was supported by active student participation in educational games, increased learning motivation, and enjoyable learning experiences aligned with students’ learning styles. Game-Based Learning also created a more dynamic, interactive, and collaborative classroom environment, which contributed to improved student understanding of the learning material.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve students’ self-regulated learning and scientific literacy by developing L-Perwuz learning media on the topic of changes in states of matter. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ASSURE development model. The experiment was conducted using a pretest–posttest design involving 16 students. Data were collected through tests and questionnaires. The results showed that the media expert assigned a validity score of 92% (valid category), the material expert gave a score of 85% (valid category), and the teacher rated the media feasibility at 95% (feasible category). Student responses toward the L-Perwuz media were positive. The media significantly improved students’ self-regulated learning, as indicated by the paired t-test results with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. In addition, the media also showed a significant effect on enhancing students’ scientific literacy, supported by paired t-test results with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. In conclusion, the L-Perwuz media is valid, feasible, and effective in improving students’ self-regulated learning and scientific literacy.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop podcast-based audio learning media to improve fifth-grade students’ listening skills on figurative language (majas) in elementary school. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model. Previous studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of podcasts in enhancing listening skills, including an increase in average scores from 67.2 to 92 after the use of podcast-based learning, as well as findings that Google Podcasts facilitate better understanding of Indonesian language materials. The subjects of this study were 32 fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Cikande 1. Data were collected through interviews, observations, expert validation questionnaires, response questionnaires, and evaluation tests. The validation results indicated that the developed media was highly feasible, with scores of 95% from material experts, 95% from language experts, and 92% from media experts. Student responses reached 95.98%, and teacher responses reached 100%, both categorized as “very feasible.” In conclusion, podcast-based audio media is highly feasible and effective for improving students’ listening skills in Indonesian language learning at the elementary level.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the presence of children whose fine motor skills had not yet developed optimally, as indicated by difficulties in holding pencils properly and writing within lines. The study aimed to describe the use of kinetic sand play therapy in improving children’s fine motor skills at TK Cinta Kasih Sintang. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects were selected using purposive sampling and consisted of teachers and children at TK Cinta Kasih Sintang. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis involved data reduction, categorization, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that teachers implemented kinetic sand play therapy through various activities, such as molding sand using available molds or cake molds, drawing and writing on sand, building sandcastles, and hiding objects in the sand for children to find by digging. However, several challenges were identified, including limited instructional time, low parental awareness of the benefits of kinetic sand play, lack of parental knowledge on how to create kinetic sand at home, and limited availability of materials provided by teachers. In conclusion, kinetic sand play therapy can support the development of children’s fine motor skills, although its implementation requires greater support from both teachers and parents.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the use of an honesty canteen as a medium for fostering students’ honesty character in elementary school. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed through data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings showed that the planning and implementation of the honesty canteen program at SD Negeri Cikande 1 were carried out effectively as an effort to develop students’ honesty character. The daily operation of the honesty canteen ran smoothly, with the responsible teacher managing preparation, supervision, closing, and daily financial calculations consistently. The results also indicated significant development in students’ honesty character. Honesty was not only understood as a concept but had become a habit and part of the school culture. Students demonstrated strong honesty values and were able to remind and encourage their peers to behave honestly. In conclusion, the honesty canteen serves as an effective medium for strengthening students’ honesty character in elementary education.
