Abstract

Digital literacy gaps among rural tourism managers often hinder the promotion of local potential. This community service program aims to enhance the digital promotion capacity of Curug Luhur natural tourism managers in Sukabumi through social media management and content creation training. The approach integrates digital storytelling and digital branding strategies based on local wisdom. Implementation methods included smartphone-based photography/videography workshops and intensive mentoring on digital business account management. Evaluation results showed significant improvements: consistency in promotional content posts increased by 65%, technical skills in account creation rose by 60%, and understanding of digital performance analytics grew by 55%. Beyond technical aspects, the program successfully fostered a sense of belonging among participants, who now actively serve as community-based content creators and tourism ambassadors. This initiative demonstrates that digital literacy empowerment is an effective catalyst for strengthening the image of sustainable tourism destinations at the local level.

Abstract

Low productivity and limited technical knowledge are primary obstacles for beginner rabbit farmers in Kalidadi Village, Central Lampung. This community service program, through the POHON OPIUM initiative, aims to enhance farmer capacity through appropriate technology application and institutional strengthening. The methodology employed a community-based empowerment approach involving technical-managerial training, integrated cage installation, and continuous mentoring. Results indicated significant increases in knowledge (83.5%), skills (87.5%), and active participation (62.8%). The economic impact included an average income growth of 59.1% within three months through livestock sales and waste diversification into liquid organic fertilizer and planting media. The program's success was further evidenced by the institutional strengthening of the Kakabit Farm group through a breeder rotation system and collective savings. The integration of technological innovation and circular economy principles proved effective in enhancing farmers' economic independence while establishing an environmentally friendly cultivation system.

Abstract

Urban food security plays a crucial role in preventing stunting by providing independent nutritional resources. This community service program aims to enhance planting literacy and food production efficiency at RPTRA Rasamala, South Jakarta, through mini-greenhouse optimization. The implementation method employed a participatory approach integrated with process engineering techniques, specifically Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Just-In-Time (JIT). The results demonstrated significant efficiency improvements, including a reduction in seedling growth time from 14 to 10 days, a 38% increase in the production cycle, and a 30% reduction in water and fertilizer usage. Furthermore, land utilization became more optimal through consistent planting schedules. Participants also showed increased technical understanding of organic planting media and the utilization of harvests for family nutrition. This program proves that integrating industrial management techniques into urban farming effectively increases food productivity while strengthening preventive measures against stunting in densely populated areas.

Abstract

Fire is a primary non-natural disaster threat in densely populated urban areas like Depok City. This community service program aims to enhance community capacity in Limo District through fire risk mitigation and household prevention techniques. The implementation method involved focus group discussions with community leaders and participatory education utilizing presentations, posters, and flyers. Community knowledge was measured through pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The results demonstrated a significant increase in fire safety literacy, with knowledge scores rising from 78.11% to 89.19%. The program's success was driven by active citizen participation and strong support from village officials and local leaders. These findings emphasize that multi-stakeholder collaboration and communicative visual education approaches are crucial prerequisites for building community self-reliance in fire disaster mitigation within urban environments.

Abstract

Organic rice and processed vegetable products are flagship commodities in Magelang Regency, yet their development is hindered by limited production capacity and conventional marketing management. This community empowerment program aims to strengthen the competitiveness of two MSME partners through technological innovation and management modernization. The methodology employed a community-based empowerment approach involving technology transfer (vacuum machines, food dehydrators, and stainless-steel grinders), quality management training (Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP), and digital marketing literacy. The results demonstrated a production capacity increase of 100%, work efficiency improvements of 40%, and a turnover growth of approximately 10%. Furthermore, the partners successfully adopted semi-digital management systems and expanded their market reach through digital marketplaces. These achievements prove that the integration of appropriate technology and digital strategies can effectively transform traditional MSMEs into competitive enterprises with global quality standards.

Abstract

Limited technical knowledge in distillation processes and product formulation has hindered the economic optimization of lemongrass among the Tanjung Asri Women Farmer Group (KWT). This community service program aims to enhance the technical capacity of KWT members through a sciencepreneurship approach, integrating extraction, purification, and product stability processes. The methodology employed participatory training, equipment demonstrations, and hands-on production practice. Results showed a significant increase in participants' technical understanding from 72.5% to 91.3%, with 80% of participants becoming proficient in independent distillation equipment operation. The implemented process innovation successfully increased oil yield by ±20%, producing clearer and more stable essential oil. Overall, the program fostered product downstreaming and business diversification based on lemongrass essential oil as a driver for sustainable local economic development.

Abstract

Sumberarum Village in Magelang Regency possesses significant tourism potential through the hot springs, yet the development of flagship products and institutional capacity remains underdeveloped. This community service program aims to empower local MSMEs and strengthen the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) to support the halal tourism village ecosystem. Utilizing the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method, the program engaged 20 participants from the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) and Pokdarwis through food processing training, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) calculation, and tourism management strengthening. Evaluation results indicated a significant increase in participants' knowledge (from 48% to 69%). Based on hedonic tests, the papaya jelly product achieved the highest preference rate (87%). Furthermore, the initiative successfully established the Pokdarwis organizational structure and enhanced the financial literacy of MSME actors. The synergy between local commodity-based product innovation and institutional strengthening proved effective in accelerating community economic independence within the tourism village area.

Abstract

Limited cold chain facilities and conventional packaging systems are primary obstacles for fishery MSMEs in maintaining product quality. This community service program aims to enhance the production capacity and quality standardization of boneless milkfish at the Sipadecengi Business Group in Pangkep Regency. The implementation followed a participatory approach through the integration of freezer technology and vacuum sealers, complemented by hygiene processing training. Results showed significant escalation in key performance indicators: daily production capacity increased from 8–10 kg to 12–15 kg (50%), packaging efficiency rose by 33%, and product shelf life extended from 3 to 10 days under refrigeration. Beyond quantitative metrics, vacuum packaging significantly improved product aesthetics and protection against contamination. This initiative demonstrates that small-scale post-harvest technological modernization effectively strengthens the competitiveness and value-added of local fishery products.

Abstract

Bikan Waterfall within the Rantih Geosite, Sawahlunto, possesses significant geological value from the Tertiary Ombilin Formation, offering high scientific and educational potential. However, its development is hindered by limited community capacity and a lack of geological interpretation facilities. This community service program aims to strengthen the capacity of the local Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) through a Community-Based Tourism (CBT) approach. The methodology involves participatory observation, educational geotourism socialization, environmental conservation actions, and the installation of geological interpretive signboards. The results demonstrate a significant increase in community geotourism literacy, the formulation of a CBT-based management strategy, and the availability of interpretive facilities that enhance the site's educational function. This initiative proves that the synergy between geological conservation and local participation effectively increases the competitiveness of Bikan Waterfall as a sustainable geotourism destination.
