Abstract

The integrity of the global academic record is under unprecedented threat due to the industrialization of scientific misconduct, driven by paper mills, citation cartels, and identity theft, prompting major bibliographic databases to replace manual curation with algorithmic systems. This study examines the operational mechanics of the Scopus Radar tool, an unsupervised anomaly detection system designed to identify and eliminate articles exhibiting anomalous behavior. We reconstruct the bibliometric indicators that lead to discontinuation by triangulating data from the November 2025 Scopus Discontinued Titles list, public Elsevier policy papers, and independent bibliometric research. Our study of 62 cancelled journals shows that Publication Concerns (59.7%) and Outlier conduct (14.5%) are the top grounds for removal. There are definite tendencies when it comes to hyper-concentrated authorship, quick volume velocity spikes, and citation stacking that does not make sense. We also see a "contagion effect," where certain publications have far greater rates of quitting than others. Based on these findings, we propose the Scopus Radar Readiness Model (SRRM). The model is based on the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and has four stages of growth. This roadmap gives editorial boards the tools they need to go from reactive compliance to proactive integrity assurance. They can do this by using internal bibliometric audits to find and fix problems before they lead to external algorithmic enforcement. The results show that journals need to use Level 4 Optimized integrity practices to stay alive in a time when automated gatekeeping is common.

Abstract

The increasing cultural diversity in social life necessitates that counselors possess adequate multicultural competencies to effectively serve clients from various backgrounds. Considering a client's cultural context is essential to prevent bias and stereotypes, thereby enhancing counselor professionalism when addressing the diversity inherent in each student. This study aims to explore and analyze the importance of multicultural counseling competencies for counselors by reviewing existing literature. The primary objective is to synthesize findings from previous research to highlight key competency frameworks relevant to contemporary practice. This research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The study analyzed 30 journal articles, consisting of 14 international and 16 national journals from the 2013-2023 period. Literature was obtained through a systematic Google Scholar search using the keyword "Multicultural Counseling Competence." Data analysis involved qualitative synthesis of findings from selected articles. The findings consistently emphasize the critical importance of Multicultural Counseling Competencies (MCC) and the Multicultural and Social Justice Counseling Competencies (MSJCC). These frameworks are identified as essential, comprehensive packages of multicultural competencies that professional counselors need to work effectively in diverse settings. This study confirms that MCC and MSJCC are fundamental to ethical and effective counseling practice in multicultural contexts. The results serve as a crucial reference for policymakers to formulate evidence-based policies addressing students' needs from diverse backgrounds. Furthermore, the findings provide a valuable foundation for designing counselor training programs, particularly in culturally rich nations like Indonesia, to strengthen professional competence in multicultural counseling.

Abstract

School counselors play a strategic role in preventing suicidal ideation in high school students. However, limited competence in implementing resilience-based interventions can reduce the effectiveness of counseling services. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of resilience soft skills training in enhancing the competencies of school counselors in suicide prevention. The study used a quantitative, one-group pre-experimental design with a pretest–posttest model. The study subjects consisted of 35 high school counselors in Karanganyar Regency. Data collection was conducted using a structured questionnaire that assessed school counselors' understanding and skills in developing resilience and suicide prevention strategies. The training program was conducted over several sessions, starting with the conceptual basics of resilience, then covering risk factors for suicidal ideation among students, and finally applying resilience-based counseling strategies through discussions and practical exercises. Data were analyzed using a paired-sample t-test. The results of the analysis showed a significant increase in scores between the pretest (M = 53.00) and posttest (M = 80.00), with a t(34) = 20.00 and p < 0.001, as well as a very large effect size (Cohen's d = 3.38). These findings indicate that resilience soft skills training is effective in improving the competence of school counselors in supporting suicide prevention efforts of secondary school students. This study underscores the importance of resilience-based professional development programs for school counselors as an evidence-based approach to supporting student mental health.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of higher education has reshaped workforce qualification structures in many countries, yet concerns persist regarding skills mismatch and uneven labor market outcomes. This study examines the implications of imbalances between higher education, vocational education, and lifelong learning for workforce composition and employment outcomes. Using secondary data and comparative evidence from prior empirical studies, this analysis documents substantial growth in higher education attainment while limited expansion of intermediate vocational skills. Results indicate that while higher education graduates generally experience favorable employment outcomes, vocational graduates with strong work-based training demonstrate competitive and sometimes superior long-term trajectories. Participation in adult education and training has increased but remains uneven across age groups and skill levels. Evidence on apprenticeship reforms suggests a shift toward higher-level qualifications and younger participants, accompanied by overall declines in participation. These findings underscore the structural nature of skills mismatch and the limitations of education systems that prioritize academic pathways without providing adequate support for vocational and continuing training. The study contributes to the literature by integrating evidence across education pathways and emphasizing the need for balanced policy approaches to skill formation, workforce adaptability, and inclusive labor market development.

Abstract

This study examined the effectiveness of learning argumentative text speaking skills using the Think-Pair-Square and Think-Pair-Share models assisted by podcast media while considering the pe of twelfth-grade high school students. This research employed a quasi-experimental method. The subjects were twelfth-grade students at a senior high school, with class XII-4 as the experimental class and class XII-5 as the control class selected through purposive sampling. The independent variables were the Think-Pair-Square and Think-Pair-Share models assisted by podcast media, while the dependent variable was argumentative text speaking skills. Students’ personality types were considered as an intervening variable. Data were collected through questionnaires, pre-tests, and post-tests and analyzed using SPSS 23. The results showed that the Think-Pair-Square model assisted by podcast media was more effective than the Think-Pair-Share model assisted by podcast media. The paired sample t-test results in both classes showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating significant differences between pre-test and post-test scores. The independent sample t-test on post-test data showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.036 (<0.05), indicating a significant effect. The N-gain value in the experimental class was 0.41 (medium category), while the control class obtained 0.27 (low category). Descriptive statistics indicated that students with extraverted personality types achieved higher scores in both classes.

Abstract

The development of social media as a digital communication space has changed the communication practices of students, including Islamic Communication and Broadcasting students who use it as a digital da'wah medium. However, the high intensity of social media use is not always accompanied by adequate awareness of communication ethics, so it has the potential to give rise to communication practices that are not in accordance with Islamic communication values. This study aims to analyze the role of lecturers in guiding Islamic Communication and Broadcasting students' communication ethics on social media from the perspective of Islamic cyberethics. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive study design through in-depth interviews with eight lecturers of Islamic Communication and Broadcasting at Islamic Religious Universities in Indonesia who were selected by purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out using thematic analysis techniques with reference to the principles of Islamic communication ethics, namely qaulan sadida, qaulan baligha, qaulan karima, qaulan ma'rufa, and qaulan layyina. The results of the study show that lecturers have a strategic role as facilitators of internalizing the ethical values of Islamic communication, supervisors of the use of polite language, directors of information verification, role models in digital communication practices, feedback on digital content, shaping social responsibility awareness, directing ethical digital da'wah practices, controllers of communication behavior in cyberspace, and mediators in online communication conflicts. This study concludes that the integration of Islamic communication ethical values in the digital media-based learning process contributes to forming honest, polite, non-provocative, and responsible student communication practices on social media.

Abstract

This study investigates how change management and strategic human resource (HR) practices interact to enhance teacher performance during the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Indonesian public senior high schools. While prior research has examined curriculum reform and teacher performance separately, limited empirical attention has been given to the structural integration of organizational change processes and HR strategies within a unified analytical model. Addressing this gap, the study adopts a mixed methods approach using an explanatory sequential design. Quantitative data were collected from 250 teachers across public schools in the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) area and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Qualitative data from semi-structured interviews were subsequently analyzed through thematic analysis to contextualize the statistical findings. The results reveal that Change Management significantly influences HR Strategy (β = 0.71, p < 0.001), and HR Strategy significantly affects Teacher Performance (β = 0.63, p < 0.001). The indirect effect indicates partial mediation, suggesting that HR practices serve as a key mechanism translating organizational readiness into improved instructional outcomes. The model explains 68% of the variance in Teacher Performance (R² = 0.68), indicating substantial explanatory power. Qualitative findings further highlight the critical role of leadership, digital capacity development, and institutional support in sustaining reform implementation. The study contributes theoretically by positioning change management as a structural antecedent and HR strategy as a mediating mechanism in educational reform. These findings offer a systemic framework for understanding curriculum transformation as an organizational capability-building process rather than solely a pedagogical adjustment.
