Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has increased the risk of child grooming crimes against children, both through direct interaction and digital media. Low levels of legal and digital literacy in the community are among the factors that increase children's vulnerability to these crimes. This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to increase public understanding and legal awareness in efforts to prevent child grooming through legal education. The activity was implemented through an educational-participatory approach, including legal counseling, interactive discussions, and simple case studies tailored to the community's conditions in Pangkalan Jati Village. The educational materials covered the definition and characteristics of child grooming, its impact on children, and the role of law and society in prevention and child protection. The results of the activity demonstrated an increase in public understanding of the risks of child grooming, children's rights, and the importance of monitoring children's digital activities. The output of this activity is an increase in legal and digital literacy in the community, which is expected to encourage the creation of a safe, legally aware, and child-friendly social environment.

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) is one of the government's strategic policies to improve the quality of human resources (HR) by ensuring adequate nutritional intake for vulnerable groups, including school children, toddlers, and pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. Adequate nutrition plays a crucial role in supporting physical growth, cognitive development, learning outcomes, and long-term productivity, making nutrition intervention an important investment in national development. This study aims to analyze the role of the MBG program in improving HR quality, identify its main benefits, and examine the challenges encountered during its implementation. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach through a literature review of relevant academic publications, government reports, and policy documents. The findings indicate that the MBG program contributes significantly to improving nutritional status, health conditions, educational performance, and future workforce productivity while also helping to reduce stunting and malnutrition. Furthermore, the program has the potential to strengthen food security and stimulate local economic activities through collaboration with local food suppliers. However, its implementation continues to face challenges, including unequal food distribution, maintaining food quality and safety standards, budget limitations, and monitoring and evaluation mechanisms. Therefore, stronger collaboration among the government, communities, educational institutions, and the private sector is essential to optimize the sustainability and effectiveness of the MBG program in enhancing Indonesia's human resource quality.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aimed to empower Oemah Anglo Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) in Surakarta City through business diversification, Green Human Resource Management (Green HRM), and digital marketing strategies to improve competitiveness, operational efficiency, and business sustainability. Oemah Anglo, a traditional Javanese food enterprise, faces challenges including limited product innovation, low adoption of environmentally friendly production practices, and suboptimal utilization of digital marketing platforms. This program supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), while contributing to higher education performance indicators through research-based community engagement. The implementation methods included socialization, needs assessment, product diversification training, Green HRM training, digital marketing training through social media and online marketplaces, mentoring, and evaluation. The results showed increased participant knowledge and skills in developing innovative products, implementing sustainable production practices, and utilizing digital platforms to expand market access. The program also strengthened managerial capabilities and improved MSME competitiveness in responding to market changes. This initiative contributes to local economic empowerment by optimizing MSME potential and supporting sustainable, innovation-based economic development.

Abstract

A high prevalence of hypertension combined with limited understanding of business legality among micro-enterprise owners prompted this community service program in a rural village. Delivered through the Healthy and Digital Village Seminar, the program covered two areas: introducing Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) as a supportive approach to managing hypertension, and strengthening MSME actors' grasp of business legality through the Business Identification Number (NIB) and the Home Industry Food Production Certificate (PIRT). Thirty residents took part, of whom 23 served as respondents in a pre-experimental One Group Pretest-Posttest evaluation. Given the non-normal distribution of scores, the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test was applied. Knowledge scores rose from 71.30 to 89.57 for the medicinal-plant material (p = 0.002) and from 66.52 to 90.87 for the NIB-PIRT material (p = 0.001), both changes reaching statistical significance. These findings suggest that pairing health education with business-legality guidance can yield combined benefits for rural communities and offers a model that could be adapted elsewhere.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in promoting economic growth and improving community welfare. Nevertheless, many MSME owners in Terak Village, Central Bangka Regency, continue to face challenges in financial management, marketing, and the use of digital technology for business promotion. This community service program aimed to strengthen the capacity of MSME owners through training in basic financial management, marketing strategies, and digital promotional media development using Canva. The program employed a participatory approach consisting of needs assessment, material delivery, hands-on practice, mentoring, and evaluation. Participants were MSME owners in Terak Village. The results indicated increased participant understanding of basic financial recordkeeping, marketing strategy development, and digital promotional content creation. Participants were also able to design more attractive and informative promotional materials using Canva. The program demonstrated that practical, technology-based training can improve MSME owners’ knowledge and skills in managing and promoting their businesses. This initiative is expected to support the digital transformation of MSMEs, strengthen competitiveness, increase promotional effectiveness, and contribute to sustainable business development in the local community.

Abstract

Watering plants is a maintenance task that requires regularity; however, manual execution can be hindered by time constraints and scheduling inconsistencies. This study aims to implement an automated chili plant watering system using an Arduino Uno R3 and a DS1302 Real-Time Clock (RTC) in Waringinkurung Village, Cikeusal District, Serang Regency, Banten. The system is designed using an Arduino Uno R3 as the main controller, a DS1302 RTC for timekeeping, a 5V relay for pump control, a push-button for manual control, and a 125W water pump to distribute water from a storage tank to the plants via a piping network. The research employs a design-and-build methodology, encompassing hardware design, software design, implementation, and system testing. The system features three automatic watering schedules—07:05, 11:42, and 15:31—with a 10-minute duration for each. Testing covered RTC time accuracy, schedule adherence, pump operation duration, manual mode functionality, and water distribution. Test results indicate that the DS1302 RTC had an average time deviation of 0.6 seconds, while watering duration tests yielded an average error of 0.27%. These results demonstrate that the system successfully performs automated watering based on the schedule and supports manual operation as designed.

Abstract

Dadapan Village, specifically Ngrancang Hamlet, is an agricultural area where most farm access roads lack adequate public street lighting. This condition hinders farmers' activities during the night and early morning such as irrigation, fertilization, and crop distribution and poses safety risks. This community service initiative aims to transfer solar-powered street lighting technology to the Ngudi Rahayu Farmer Group to enhance road safety and foster village energy self-sufficiency. The implementation process comprises five stages socialization, training, technology deployment, mentoring and evaluation, and program sustainability carried out collaboratively by lecturers, students, and farmer group members. The technology deployed involves installing two solar-powered street lighting units integrating monocrystalline solar panels, lithium batteries, LED lights, and automatic light sensors along a 300-meter stretch of farm access road. The results indicate that both units are successfully installed and fully functional, automatically illuminating for 10–12 hours without reliance on the national grid (PLN). The installation of these lights enhances safety and convenience for farmers, facilitates crop distribution, and improves the partners' understanding of renewable energy solutions that are self-sufficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly.
