Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (JPKM) Kebangsaan is a scientific journal that focuses on community service activities (PkM). JPKM Kebangsaan publishes the results of community service conducted collaboratively, whether within a single discipline or across multiple disciplines. In other words, the manuscript does not only emphasize one discipline but all disciplines with community service activities that have been carried out. To accommodate publication interests, JPKM Kebangsaan is published twice a year in April and October.

Abstract

Bahasa Inggris harus diperkenalkan sejak dini kepada anak-anak agar tidak asing ketika berinteraksi dengan dunia di luar lingkungannya. Keuntungan mengenal apalagi menguasai akan menjadi keunggulan bagi-anak-anak untuk bergaul lebih jauh dalam mengenali dunianya. Bahasa Inggris selain menunjukkan penggunanya, juga menjadi asal tempat pengguna. Dengan pengetahuan ini, anak-anak akan mengetahui kaidah berbahasa Inggris yang benar dan dapat menyerap sejak dini simbol-simbol yang dinyatakan dalam aktivitas keseharian. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) dosen dan mahasiswa Sastra Inggris ini dilakukan, dengan maksud agar anak-anak Paud Nurmaima Cibadak Kota Bandung mampu memahami secara benar penggunaan bahasa Inggris melalui pendampingan pengajaran bahasa Inggris.Tujuan PKM untuk memberikan pengetahuan secara dini penggunaan bahasa Inggris kepada anak-anak PAUD, dengan menggunakan metode STAR (Situation, Task, Activity, Result). Melalui metode STAR ini dapat dilihat perkembangan lebih lanjut dari proses pendampingan pengajaran hingga terbentuknya pengetahuan anak-anak dalam memahami bahasa Inggris. Hasil PkM adalah terbentuknya pemahaman dan pengetahuan dasar anak-anak mengenai simbol bahasa Inggris sehingga mengurangi kebingungannya dalam memahami lafal dan simbol yang berbeda dengan bahasa Ibu.

Abstract

The welfare of the village community is built through the communication skills of village empowerment cadres (KPMD). As informal officers recruited from community potential, the cadres work as catalysts connecting the village government with village residents. The relationship between cadres and villagers is mainly related to the delivery and implementation of various programs aimed at all villagers. With these roles and duties, the cadres have a very strategic position. Its existence is a driving force that encourages and awakens villagers to participate in the implementation of village community development programs. Given the importance of the role and position of village cadres, lecturers of Communication Studies at the National University of Indonesia (UKRI) conduct community service which aims to provide communication skills to Kertamulya village cadres, Padalarang District, West Bandung Regency, so that all government programs can be understood and conveyed to all villagers. With the lecture and discussion method, it is possible to identify and solve various problems that arise with regard to the communication of cadres. The PkM results show that the cadres gain applied knowledge that can be used in carrying out all the tasks assigned.

Abstract

Gudang Village is one of the villages in Tanjung Sari District, Sumedang Regency, West Java that uses groundwater as source of clean water. The Community Service activity aims to deliver introduction about clean water quality standard and also to conduct groundwater quality testing in community housing. Results showed temperature and total dissolved solid (TDS) parameters still meet the quality standard. Meanwhile, 35,29% of groundwater visual looks turbid and smelly. The pH value of groundwater showed about 88,24% of groundwater has pH value <6.5. In general, groundwater in Desa Gudang are safe as source of clean water

Abstract

MSMEs have a strategic role in national economic development, but still face various challenges, especially in terms of legality and improving product quality. One aspect of legality that is important, but has not been widely accessed by MSMEs in Padaasih Village, West Bandung Regency, is halal certification. In fact, halal certification not only guarantees religious aspects, but also increases consumer confidence and product competitiveness in domestic and international markets. This community service activity aims to increase the understanding and capacity of MSME actors in the halal certification process and strengthening product quality through an educational and participatory approach. The activity was carried out at PKBM Bina Bangsa Berkarakter as a strategic local partner, involving 25 MSME players engaged in the food and beverage sector. Implementation methods include socialisation, simulation training for applying for halal certification, product quality training, and interactive discussions. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of the procedures and benefits of halal certification. In addition, participants also gained basic skills in improving packaging and product quality according to food safety standards. The final evaluation showed that 92% of participants stated that the activity was very useful and encouraged their interest in taking care of product legality independently. This activity strengthens the role of PKBM as a community learning centre that can bridge MSMEs in accessing halal certification information and services.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the digital competence of teachers in utilizing Google Forms and connecting it to Excel to support the learning process at SMA Ma’arif Bandung. The methods used include theoretical training and hands-on practice, where participants were introduced to Google Form components, how to create evaluation forms, and techniques to integrate them with Excel for data analysis. The results showed that the training successfully improved participants’ understanding and skills in using digital tools for education, although challenges remained during the follow-up mentoring phase. This activity is expected to be an initial step towards digital transformation in the school environment.

Abstract

Batik is the work of the Indonesian people which is a blend of art and technology by the ancestors of the Indonesian nation. Indonesian batik can develop to a level that is incomparable both in design or motifs as well as in the process. Kondangjajar Village, Cijulang District, as one of the areas in Pangandaran Regency, made a breakthrough by developing the art of batik craft called "Batik Kodja (Kondangjajar)" with the motif of "Marlin Fish" where the marlin fish became a trand mark in Pangandaran Regency. In its journey, the art of batik in Kondangjajar Village experienced ups and downs, especially the lack of adequate labor as batik to meet market needs, there was still a lack of knowledge about good and correct batik techniques including coloring techniques. Kondangjajar Village, Cijulang District, as one of the areas in Pangandaran Regency with the majority of the population's livelihood being fishermen, farmers, breeders and tour guides. Based on these considerations, strategic efforts through KKN-KKU activities can be used as a solution. The activity begins with the stage of program coordination to the target group, followed by training led by experienced instructors and ends with the socialization of the art of batik. The results of the activity show that the written batik training at "Batik Kodja" is able to increase the benefits and understanding of higher quality batik and coloring techniques so that in the future it can have an effect on improving the quality of Batik Kodja.

Abstract

Perkembangan usaha UMKM saat ini dalam lingkungan industri 4.0, memberikan peluang sekaligus tantangan untuk memajukan diri dengan peningkatan pemasaran. Namun di sisi lain, peningkatan pemasaran tidak terlepas dari tuntutan kualitas yang baik menurut penilaian konsumen di Indonesia atas semuan produk UMKM. Pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh Universitas Kebangsaan Republik Indonesia, dimaksudkan untuk memberikan pencerahan sekaligus pemahaman bagi pelaku UMKM di Bandung Barat khususnya untuk dapat mengikuti perkembangan tersebut. Materi sosialisasi kualitas produk diberikan kepada para pelaku UMKM dan siswa Program Paket C di PKBM Bina Bangsa Berkarakter Bandung Barat. Sosialisasi dilaksanakan dalam satu hari berupa ceramah dan tanya jawab. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh sebanyak 26 orang peserta pelaku UMKM, 7 orang dosen dan 3 orang mahasiswa Teknik Industri. Sosialisasi berlangsung dengan metode ceramah dan tanya jawab yang berhubungan dengan kualitas produk yang diperlukan konsumen dan penerapan pada aneka produk UMKM di Indonesia khususnya. Hasil evaluasi setelah sosialisasi menunjukkan bahwa peserta pelaku UMKM dan warga belajar PKBM Bina Bangsa merasakan pengetahuan dan wawasannya tentang kualitas meningkat.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital, khususnya Artificial Intelligence (AI), telah membawa perubahan signifikan dalam dunia pendidikan. Namun, pemanfaatannya di tingkat sekolah menengah kejuruan masih menghadapi berbagai keterbatasan, baik dari sisi pemahaman guru maupun siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di SMKN 15 Bandung dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi digital, keterampilan praktis, serta motivasi belajar siswa melalui pemanfaatan teknologi AI. Metode kegiatan meliputi observasi kebutuhan, penyusunan materi, pelatihan interaktif, praktik langsung, serta pendampingan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan siswa mengenai konsep dasar AI, keterampilan penggunaan aplikasi berbasis AI (seperti ChatGPT, Grammarly, Canva AI, dan Quillbot), serta motivasi belajar yang lebih tinggi. Kendala berupa keterbatasan perangkat dan akses internet diatasi dengan penggunaan perangkat secara berkelompok dan memanfaatkan fasilitas sekolah. Program ini terbukti memberikan kontribusi nyata terhadap peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran serta kesiapan siswa menghadapi era industri 4.0.

Abstract

The availability of clean water is a crucial aspect of water security efforts to achieve national resilience. However, several regions in Indonesia still experience limited clean water supply in terms of quantity. Cipageran Village is one of the area that experienced limited clean water supply. Clean water distribution in the area is still inadequate. Therefore, residents of Cipageran Village drill wells to obtain clean water. Clean water sourced from these wells requires planning for distribution to residents' homes. Therefore, a technical plan for the clean water distribution network from the drilled wells to residents' homes is needed. The results of the technical planning for the clean water distribution network using the Epanet 2.2 software were then socialized to residents. In addition, the budget plan required to build the clean water distribution network was also delivered to residents. This socialization was expected to provide residents with the information needed to build a clean water distribution network from the drilled wells to residents' homes.

Abstract

Digitalization has brought significant changes to the teaching and learning process, especially in English language learning. By integrating technology and information communication into its activities, moreover, it provides opportunities to create more interactive and engaging learning. This community service carried out at SMP Plus Al Ittihat Garut aimed at improving digital literacy of the teachers and students. The program was conducted through seminars, workshops, and intensive mentoring methods to implement affectively the program. The results of the activity showed an increase in positive attitudes towards the use of technology, digital skills, and teachers' ability to integrate digital media into English language learning. However, the limited internet access, imbalance in the availability of digital devices, and low digital literacy among teachers and students were considered as major obstacles in optimizing activities and utilizing technology in their implementation at this school. Based on the responses and enthusiasm of teachers and students, this digital literacy activity required a good sustainability to support more effective, creative, and adaptive learning in the digital era so that it can be a strategic step in overcoming the technology gap and improving the quality of education in the rural areas with limited resources.
