Abstract

Career adaptability is essential for students to navigate future career challenges effectively. It equips individuals to adjust to changes in the workplace and proactively manage their professional paths. This study examines the career adaptability of students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FTTE), Jambi University, involving 17 male and 157 female participants through a cross-sectional survey and quantitative descriptive approach. Data were collected using a career adaptability instrument and analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-tests, and independent t-tests. Simple random sampling was employed to select participants. The findings indicate that FTTE students generally exhibit moderate levels of career adaptability. Furthermore, t-test results (p = 0.00 < 0.05) reveal significant differences in career adaptability between male and female students. Interventions are recommended to include career counseling, guidance, training, and workshops to improve students' career adaptability.

Abstract

High use of social media (TikTok) encourages students to commit self-injury. This study aims to examine the differences in self-injury behavior seen from the intensity of social media use (TikTok) in students at Seyegan 1 State Junior High School. The approach used in this study is a mixed method. The validity of the quantitative instrument focuses on the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) statistical test. Reliability is measured using Cronbach's Alpha. Qualitative data credibility testing is carried out by analyzing negative cases. Qualitative data analysis is carried out using an interactive model. The results of quantitative data analysis show significant differences between self-injury behavior seen from the intensity of social media use (TikTok). The higher the intensity of social media use (TikTok), the greater the probability of self-injury. The results of qualitative data analysis show differences in the intensity of social media use (TikTok) in the low, medium, high, and very high categories of self-injury which is characterized by forms of behavior such as hitting walls, biting skin, cutting, scratching arms and slapping themselves. The cause of self-injury behavior in students is because there is no other way to channel emotions. The subject learned this behavior by imitating others from TikTok content. The subject hurts themselves using sharp objects. The place chosen to hurt themselves is usually at home, in a room, or in a quiet place. The main reasons for committing self-injury are feeling that they have mental health problems, stress, depression, and lack of understanding from others. The body parts that are often targeted by self-injury are the arms, hands, and feet. To stop self-injury, the subject needs attention, psychological counseling, family support, and friends. The impact of self-injury provides a temporary sense of calm but worsens emotional conditions and causes physical wounds that are at risk of infection. Excessive use of social media exposes students to negative content that has an impact on increasing anxiety and social relationships.

Abstract

The research focused on studying peer attachment and aggression among adolescents in South Tangerang. Data was collected from 320 adolescents aged 13-17 and included in the research study. Data were collected using the Peer Attachment Scale and the Aggression Questionnaire, which were adapted for the Indonesian environment and subsequently validated. The data were analyzed using SmartPLS 4, which applies Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The research found evidence of a negative correlation, indicating that lower peer attachment was associated with higher levels of aggression (β = -0.503; f² = 0.21; Q² = 0.31). The most dominant influence on the ‘communication’ aspect of attachment was the most hidden form of aggression - ‘hostility.’ The structural pathways showed no significant variation based on the sex of the participants, indicating that strong correlates with peer attachment will result in less aggression in both females and males. The research discusses the most practical aspects of implementing CASEL’s social-emotional learning (SEL) modules, which focus on peer mentoring and support, as well as other school-based attachment programs, as detailed by the Australian Institute of Family Studies. Future research might include longitudinal study designs and explore mediation analyses on the relationships between the regulation of emotions and moral disengagement, as a means to clarify the connections within these relationships.

Abstract

Reeducation is a follow-up intervention that aims to provide re-understanding for terrorist prisoners. This study is a follow-up study conducted using a different approach. This study aims to determine whether various interventions in the re-education program have been successful in increasing the acceptance of terrorists in the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. The research method used is the Narrative Literature Review (NLR), by assessing, identifying, analyzing and summarizing previously published literature. The re-education program in Indonesia with various interventions shows an increase in the acceptance of national values and acceptance of the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) among terrorist prisoners in Indonesia. A holistic approach that includes psychological, religious education, social, and economic aspects has been shown to provide better results than methods that focus on one aspect only. Psychological interventions help prisoners manage emotions and stress, while moderate religious education directs them to an inclusive understanding of religion and skills through the training provided are factors that greatly support the acceptance of NKRI

Abstract

This study aims to explore the gender sensitivity competence of Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers in handling cases of sexual harassment in schools in Lampung. The research employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with five BK teachers who had experience in handling sexual harassment cases. The findings revealed that participants' understanding of gender issues and sexual harassment was still limited. Participants tended to view sexual harassment as a problem that occurs more frequently among female students, often overlooking the fact that male students are also vulnerable to becoming victims. This reflects a limited understanding of sexual harassment and gender issues. In terms of skills, the study found that participants had not fully mastered gender-sensitive counseling skills. For instance, some participants tended to blame the victim based on appearance or behavior, indicating a lack of ability to provide empathetic and unbiased support. Furthermore, the attitudes of BK teachers toward sexual harassment cases were still influenced by gender stereotypes. This study highlights the importance of ongoing training to enhance the gender sensitivity competence of BK teachers, enabling them to offer more empathetic and inclusive support to all victims of sexual harassment in the school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the level of developmental achievement of high school students in Gorontalo City, focusing on developmental dimensions according to the Student Independence Competency Standards. The study used a survey method with the Developmental Task Inventory instrument to measure dimensions such as ethical behavior foundation, emotional maturity, economic independence, and career preparation. The results showed that several aspects of development, such as intellectual maturity and career awareness, had good achievements. In contrast, ethical behavior, responsibility, and self-acceptance require special attention. These findings provide a basis for developing evidence-based school counseling programs to support student development holistically. Limitations of the study related to the scope of the area and quantitative approach were identified, with recommendations for further research covering a wider area and a mixed-method approach.
