Abstract

Bullying in schools is a pervasive issue with profound implications for students' academic performance and psychological well-being. This systematic literature review explores the complex dynamics of bullying, focusing on its contributing factors, impacts on academic outcomes, and preventive strategies. The review synthesizes findings from peer-reviewed studies published between [insert start date] and [insert end date], identified through searches in major academic databases including PubMed, PsycINFO, ERIC, and Google Scholar. Key themes include the role of individual traits, social dynamics, and environmental factors in shaping bullying behaviors. Factors such as peer pressure, family relationships, and school climate significantly influence the occurrence and severity of bullying incidents. The review highlights the detrimental effects of bullying on academic achievement, including reduced motivation, decreased concentration, and heightened psychological distress among victims. Effective prevention strategies discussed encompass proactive measures such as implementing anti-bullying policies, promoting positive peer relationships, and fostering empathy among students. School counselors and educators play pivotal roles in creating safe and inclusive environments through targeted interventions and support for victims. Challenges identified include variations in study methodologies and the need for culturally diverse perspectives in bullying research. Future research directions should prioritize investigating bullying across different cultural contexts and addressing emerging forms such as cyberbullying comprehensively. By advancing our understanding and implementing evidence-based interventions, we can work towards fostering inclusive school environments where all students feel safe, respected, and able to achieve their full academic potential

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) in improving student discipline at SMK SMTI Bandar Lampung. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of REBT implementation in the educational context. Research data were collected through in-depth interviews with guidance and counseling teachers, as well as three 10th-grade students who frequently committed disciplinary violations. Data collection methods included structured interviews, direct observations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and narratively with the aid of NVivo 12 software to facilitate data organization and the identification of key themes. The findings indicate that the application of REBT techniques through individual counseling effectively transformed students’ behavior towards greater discipline. Through systematic stages such as problem identification, goal clarification, and reinforcement of rational thinking, students exhibited significant changes in their attitudes and actions towards school rules. These findings contribute significantly to the development of more effective counseling methods for enhancing discipline in educational settings.

Abstract

Sexual violence against children is a global problem that affects millions of children every year. This violence often involves abuse of power by the perpetrator to force the victim to carry out unwanted actions. Seeing these conditions, sex education is an important effort to teach children how to protect themselves. Guidance and counseling (BK) services can provide psychological and emotional support to children who may have experienced violence or sexual abuse, and help them understand and manage the impact. The guidance and counseling service process requires BK teachers to use media that is easy to understand so that the material can be conveyed clearly to children. It is hoped that the development of application-based interactive educational media can facilitate children's understanding and increase their interest in learning by presenting information about sexual education through text, animated videos and interesting quizzes to test their understanding of the material presented

Abstract

Anxiety in completing theses is a common issue faced by final-semester students. This anxiety arises from various challenges, such as difficulty focusing on the thesis topic, trouble writing the background of the problem, confusion about thesis structure and content, limited mastery of theory, weak research methodology skills, and ineffective communication with supervisors. These issues often lead to anxiety and low self-confidence among students. One effective intervention to address these challenges is group counseling with a reality approach. This study employed a pre-experimental quantitative method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. After using purposive sampling, six students meeting the criteria for group counseling participants were selected. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using a t-test. The results revealed a significant effect of the reality approach in reducing anxiety and boosting self-confidence, with a t-count value of 24.413, exceeding the t-table value of 2.571. In conclusion, group counseling with a reality approach is proven effective in alleviating anxiety and improving self-confidence in final-semester students working on their theses.

Abstract

Online counseling has transformed mental health services by offering a convenient and cost-effective alternative to traditional in-person therapy. This study investigates the role of technology in counseling by analyzing user reviews of the Bicarakan.id app from the Google Play Store. A machine learning approach was employed to identify critical patterns and themes within the reviews. Text pre-processing methods such as tokenization, stop-word removal, and TF-IDF vectorization were applied to a dataset of 125 user reviews. The Elbow method helped determine the optimal number of clusters, which was three. Clustering performance was assessed using the Silhouette score, with three clusters yielding the highest average score of 0.4939, indicating a moderate level of clustering effectiveness. Cluster 1 primarily contained positive reviews, emphasizing user satisfaction with the app's services. Cluster 2 included more specific feedback on users' experiences with counselors and app features. Cluster 3 focused on the app's accessibility and ease of use while raising concerns about data privacy and the lack of offline consultation options. The study underscores the significance of using user feedback to enhance and improve technology-driven mental health solutions.
