Abstract

Tuberculosis continues to be a major global health concern, with Indonesia being one ofthe countries with a high burden of cases. Patient adherence to treatment plays a crucialrole in preventing disease transmission, reducing mortality rates, and avoiding drugresistance. However, many patients do not follow treatment guidelines, whichcomplicates tuberculosis control efforts. Poor treatment adherence is often influenced byvarious factors, including patients’ knowledge of tuberculosis, family support, andsocioeconomic conditions. Limited understanding of the importance of regular treatmentand inadequate family support may worsen patients’ conditions and reduce the likelihoodof successful treatment outcomes. This study aims to examine the factors influencingtreatment adherence among tuberculosis patients, with a particular focus on the role ofpatient knowledge and family support. A systematic review methodology was employedby analyzing articles published between 2021 and 2024, retrieved from PubMed, GoogleScholar, and ScienceDirect. The literature search followed the PRISMA framework toidentify relevant studies. Among the four articles included in this review, good patientknowledge and strong family support were found to have a significant influence ontuberculosis treatment adherence. Patients with better understanding of tuberculosistreatment and strong family support tended to be more adherent to therapy, therebyreducing the risk of drug resistance and improving treatment success rates.Key Words: Tuberculosis, Treatment, Adherence, Family Support.

Abstract

Hypercholesterolemia is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease in the elderly, where the aging process causes a decline in fat metabolism and an increased potential for cholesterol accumulation in the blood. To address this issue, this article aims to synthesize various community-based non-pharmacological interventions used to control cholesterol levels in the elderly in Indonesia. The method used is a descriptive systematic literature review based on the PRISMA 2017–2025 guidelines, by reviewing five articles that met the following criteria: elderly population, non-pharmacological intervention, community-based, and pre-post outcome data. The results of the synthesis indicate that interventions in the form of health education, cholesterol screening, and physical activity such as elderly exercise consistently increase knowledge, awareness, and reduce total cholesterol levels, as seen in studies by Harianja et al. (2020), Risnawati & Sari (2022), Astuti (2022), Athiutama et al. (2023), and Subagyo et al. (2025). Overall, a community approach combining health education and regular physical activity has been shown to be effective as a non-pharmacological strategy in controlling cholesterol in older adults, although most studies still use pre-experimental designs and community services, so further research with more robust methodology is needed.

Abstract

Abstract

This research is a literature review aimed at examining the factors influencing fast food eating habits among adolescents. Articles were collected from databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect, with a publication period between 2021 and 2025. Ten articles that met the criteria were then analyzed using a narrative synthesis method. The research findings reveal that fast food consumption habits are influenced by personal factors (such as knowledge, attitudes, self-control, and nutritional status), social factors (including peer influence, family support, and pocket money), as well as environmental factors like easy access, taste, and cost. Furthermore, exposure to social media and digital marketing has proven to increase adolescents' interest in fast food. This study concludes that adolescents' eating patterns are shaped by the interaction between internal and external elements, so prevention efforts must be carried out comprehensively

Abstract

Hypertension, commonly referred to as high blood pressure, is a long-term health concern that is growing more common, particularly among working adults. A cost-effective and natural solution that an increasing number of families are beginning to use is cucumber juice, which is believed to possess qualities that can help lower blood pressure. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of cucumber juice in reducing blood pressure by looking at the latest scientific research. A thorough review of available studies was carried out by gathering articles from sites such as Google Scholar, PubMed, and Garuda, utilizing pertinent search terms from 2019 to 2024. The findings indicate that drinking cucumber juice (150–200 mL) daily for a period of 5 to 7 days resulted in significant decreases in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure, especially in individuals with prehypertension or mild hypertension. These advantages are attributed to the high potassium and magnesium content in cucumbers, along with their natural diuretic effects. In a home setting, cucumber juice is regarded as a safe, affordable, and convenient alternative treatment. In conclusion, cucumber juice is viewed as an effective option for managing blood pressure, particularly in attempts to enhance family health
