Keterampilan abad 21 merupakan salah satu tuntutan kurikulum dan seringkali dilatihkan kepada peserta didik, baik di tingkat sekolah maupun perguruan tinggi untuk mempersiapkan peserta didik yang mampu bersaing di dunia kerja. Penerapan pendekatan STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) pada proses pembelajaran dapat merangsang peserta didik untuk berpartisipasi aktif dan mampu mengintegrasikan berbagai disiplin ilmu dalam menyelesaikan berbagai permasalahan menantang yang dihadapinya. Tujuan dari penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk menyajikan informasi dan hasil analisis artikel penelitian tentang pendekatan STEM pada pembelajaran IPA dan hubungannya dengan keterampilan abad 21. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan artikel ini adalah kajian literatur (literature review). Hasil kajian dari beberapa literatur dan artikel penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan STEM pada pembelajaran IPA seringkali dikombinasikan dengan berbagai model pembelajaran agar terdapat langkah-langkah yang sistematis. Hasil-hasil penelitian juga mengungkap bahwa pendekatan STEM yang diterapkan di kelas memiliki dampak yang positif terhadap keterampilan abad 21 peserta didik. Temuan dalam penelitian ini berimplikasi pada alternatif penerapan pendekatan STEM pada kurikulum di Indonesia dalam rangka meningkatkan keterampilan abad 21 peserta didik melalui model-model pembelajaran yang merangsang keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi peserta didik, khususnya dalam mata pelajaran IPA.
Validity and Practicality of the STEM-Critical Thinking Video in Science Education: Hydraulic Lift

This study aims to determine the validity, practicality and students' responses to video experiments oriented towards STEM activities and critical thinking. The research problem is that the implementation of experimental activities in schools is still very rarely used because, limited learning time and the learning that is carried out has not been able to train students' critical thinking skills. The research method used is Research and Development, the research design uses the Plomp model which consists of three stages, namely the preliminary stage, the prototyping stage and ends with the assessment stage, but this research is limited to the prototyping stage. The instruments used to collect data were validity sheets (26 questions), practicality sheets (18 questions) and interview sheets (5 questions). VHL was analyzed descriptively and quantitatively based on the results of validity tests, practicality tests and interviews. The results of the validity test from the three expert reviewers showed that VHL obtained a score of 0.92 with a very high validity category. In terms of practicality, the VHL scores 98% (very practical). In terms of students' responses to VHL, the majority of students stated that they were happy, interested and enthusiastic about learning to use VHL. Therefore, VHL with the theme "Hydraulic Lift" is categorized as feasible and practical to help grade 8 students in practicing critical thinking skills on the concept of material pressure.

This study aims to determine the validity and practicality of the video entitled Process of Converting Salt Water to Fresh Water on science subject. In the process of developing this video, STEM elements and critical thinking skills are included. The method used is development research which consists of three stages, namely preliminary research, prototyping stage, and assessment stage. This study used an instrument in the form of a questionnaire in the form of a validity sheet (26 questions), a practical sheet (18 questions), and an interview sheet (5 questions). The validity test was conducted on three education practitioners, while the practicality test was conducted on students at SMPN 2 Padang. The results of the experimental video validity test show very high validity with an average Kappa Momentum (k) value of 0.91. The results of the practicality test through one-to-one evaluation and small group evaluation have a practical value of 91% and 96%, respectively, with a very practical level of practicality. To find out students' interest in the developed video, interviews were carried out which were used as additional data. The results of the interviews obtained student responses to the developed videos, generally students stated that developed videos was very interesting. Also, it is expected that developed videos can help teachers to train students' critical thinking skills.

This study aims to conduct a preliminary study on the analysis of the needs of junior high school students for the development of a video demonstration of science practicum oriented to critical thinking on temperature and its changes. This research was conducted using the Plomp development model which consists of three stages including preliminary research (initial investigation stage), prototyping stage (prototype formation), and assessment phase (assessment stage). In this article, it only explains the analysis of students who are at the preliminary research stage. This preliminary study research was conducted by class VII.2 totaling 32 students by distributing questionnaires. The results of the data obtained were that almost all students as subjects were interested in the science practicum demonstration video.

Critical thinking skills are an important component of learning outcomes that students need to have. Critical thinking skills need to be trained during the learning process, thus increasing critical thinking skills can be increased. Through a video demonstration of a science practicum with critical thinking orientation, there is material of Heat and Transfer, it is hoped that it can become a learning medium that can train students' critical thinking skills. The development model used is the Plomp development model through three stages (Preliminary research, Prototyping stage and Assessment phase). This article contains only one stage of the Plomp development model, namely the Preliminary research stage. A student analysis questionnaire was given to 32 students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang to find out the need for a video demonstration of science practicum oriented critical thinking based on the perspective of students as users.

This research aims to produce a valid and practical natural science experiment video of a simple fan on energy in living systems. This video contains elements of STEM and critical thinking skill questions. This research uses the Plomp development model, which consists of three phases, namely the Preliminary research, the prototyping and the assessment. This research was carried out until the Prototyping phase. The research instruments used were validity and practicality questionnaires. The validity tests were conducted to three science education lecturers and the practicality tests were conducted on students at SMPN 15 Padang. The results of the validity test obtained an average Moment Kappa (k) value of 0.85 with the very high category. The results of the practicality test at the one to one evaluation obtained an average Moment Kappa (k) value of 0.92 and at the small group evaluation phase obtained an average Moment Kappa (k) value of 0.93 with the very high category. To find out the students' interest in this experimental video, an interview was conducted as additional data stating which stated that the students were very interested and could help the teacher in deliver on energy material in living systems

This research aimed to produce a valid and practical experimental Video Movable Chandelier on Energy Matters in Living Systems (VMC). This experimental video is equipped with STEM elements and several critical thinking questions. The method used in this research is the development of the Plomp model, which consists of three stages, namely preliminary research, prototyping stage, and assessment phase. This research is limited to two stages which up to the stage of prototype formation. The instrument used was a questionnaire in the form of validity sheets and practicality sheets. The video validity test was carried out by three science education lecturers from FMIPA UNP, while the video practicality test was carried out by a science teacher from SMPN 15 Padang. The results of the validity test of the experimental video showed an average Kappa moment (k) value of 0.92 which was included in the very high category, while the results of the practicality test at the one to one evaluation and small group evaluation stages of the experimental video showed an average Kappa Moment value (k) of 0.90 and 0.94 with very high category as well. With the VMC it can help teachers carry out practicums on Energy Material in Living Systems both at school and at home as additional learning media and train students' abilities to think critically.

Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, telah banyak peneliti yang memfokuskan penelitian mengenai peran menulis dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemampuan berpikir peserta didik. Salah satu dari teknik menulis yang banyak digunakan adalah “writing to learn” (WTL). Sebuah konsep “menulis untuk belajar” yang dalam penerapannya guru mengikutkan peserta didik dalam mengembangkan ide dan konsep pengetahuan dengan menulis. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mensintesis studi penelitian yang meneliti writing to learn dalam berbagai berbagai konteks dan subjek pelajaran dari tahun 2014 sampai tahun 2022. Sebuah kajian literatur menggunakan metode analisis konten (content analysis) pada dua database online yakni Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) dan Google Scholar. Hasil pencarian menemukankan bahwa ada 18 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria yang ditetapkan. Publikasi artikel yang membahas mengenai strategi writing to learn paling banyak terjadi pada rentang tahun 2020 - 2021. Journal writing merupakan aktivitas writing to learn yang paling sering digunakan dalam pembelajaran yang menerapkan strategi writing to learn pada satu dekade terakhir. Oleh karena itu, melalui kajian literatur ini dapat dikatakan bahwa penggunaan strategi writing to learn dengan berbagai bentuk aktivitas menulis pada berbagai konteks dan subjek pelajaran memberikan dampak positif yang menjadikan siswa ikut terlibat dan berpartisipasi aktif dalam proses pembelajaran.

The development of the times requires every country to have rapid progress. Good education produces quality human resources. The influence of education plays a very important role in the human resources produced. Education continues to change according to the times. Innovation continues to be carried out in order to provide better quality education, both in learning models and learning strategies. Learning carried out by schools does not only focus on models but must choose the right strategy where students are trained to independently seek and find solutions to each problem found in learning. One strategy that can be applied in learning is problem solving learning strategies. Type of Quasi-Experimental research or quasi-experimental research. This Quasi Experimental Research aims to see whether or not there is an effect of giving certain treatments to the study group. The research design that will be used is a Pretest-Posttest control group design. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The sample consisted of an experimental class applying problem solving learning strategies and a control class applying conventional learning models. Based on hypothesis testing which has been carried out with the help of Microsoft Excel using the U test technique with a significance level of 5%. The obtained values for are -4.67 and -1.96. Then H₁ is accepted and H₀ is rejected. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the use of problem solving learning strategies influences the learning outcomes of students at SMP Negeri 15 Padang City.
